mrsfaz I too am struggling with clothes! The like lily not dressed at all today due to sick day. Finally got some new bras this week -so much more comfortable but struggling with what to buy, have tried trousers next size up but I've always been tricky getting trousers to fit, and it's just not working... its fine when I'm slouching at home, but I have one pair of trousers that fit.... waistbands on everything just feels uncomfortable (uniform trousers held together with safety pins....) lacking energy so far to brave town to shop properly....

mrsfazruns · 01/07/2015 19:30

Glad I'm not the only one and mixed with The lack of exercise in first trimester I feel so huge!! DH has just had a go at me because I was going to go for a swim then changed my mind and he hits me with a whole load of dedication and commitment to training bollocks!! Feel like punching him straight in the face .... Feel like he's telling me I'm fat and need to get in the gym!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 01/07/2015 20:01

Ooh MrsFaz you take it easy, ignore him, it's too hot to be rushing around.

Me too with the clothes, but not enough bump yet to hold up maternity wear. I went shopping for 1 size up trousers (crops so they're not too long) and shorts/skirts plus 2 sizes up on tops - mostly tunic or floaty types that just hang from my ginormous enlarged boobs. It's done the trick, and it's cooler in the heat.

MissMartin10 · 01/07/2015 20:33

clothes are annoying at the moment arn't they ladies! keep getting told off for wearing skinny jeans then walking around with them unbuttoned because they are too tight for me.. i may just retire to leggings&jeggings soon! luckly i don't have to wear a uniform aslong as we look smart so I'll just have to wear a nice top instead and look half decent

Oysterbabe · 01/07/2015 20:40

I can sympathise MrsFaz DH is in charge of breakfast and keeps serving fruit. It just means I'm late for work when I have to stop on the way in to buy a cake.

crumble74 · 01/07/2015 20:54

LOL @Oyster!
DH commented on the size of my helping of ice cream (all pointy fingers) just now, apparently it's the largest portion he'd ever seen. He likes to live dangerously...

Brooke113 · 01/07/2015 20:58

Hi ladies, I'd like to tentatively join you lovely lot. I've been an avid reader since April, and did post once to say I'd join later on as I'm getting alot of pains. From lmp I am 10w2d, but managed to persuade dh to have an early scan to check everything over, as I'm still getting daily cramps, her measurements were 10w6d, so don't know whether to go by her results? Think I may give the hospital a call to as I'll be 13w now for my 12w scan, not sure if that's OK. You wouldn't think I'd done this before! My brains mush..

aliquid · 01/07/2015 21:15

Lil everything crossed for you Flowers

Welcome Brooke! As far as I'm aware you go by lmp until 12 wk scan as earlier scans can be more inaccurate (certainly how it worked out for me, though mine was at 8ish weeks for suspected ectopic). Regardless, 13w is fine for 12w scan, the limit for nuchal measurement is 14w.

Unsurprisingly I have a banging headache in the heat despite drinking an ocean of water. Really need to discuss with midwife at next appointment, they're not fun! Hope everyone else is faring better, cooler tomorrow hurray!

lilyb84 · 01/07/2015 21:17

Welcome brook and congrats! I'm similar to you with dates, LMP puts me at 10+6 but I think I'll be a few days behind that at least at the scan.

You can have the nuchal test up to 14 weeks as far as I'm aware so you should still be fine but others may have more expert advice - unlike you this is my first one!

Marvelette · 01/07/2015 21:26

Fingers crossed for you lil.

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/07/2015 21:42

Hope you're ok lil, will be thinking of you.

Def struggling with clothes! Feel like it's more acceptable now at 13+4 even though I've not been in my super skinny jeans for a few weeks. Dresses are my friend, as well as jumpsuits. I begrudge buying stuff I won't wear again so so far have bought some lovely baggy style trousers from river island and a floaty dress from warehouse in size 12 (am usually 10). Will probably buy one pair of skinny maternity jeans as well as a few tops but I think my looser stuff will do me for a while (she says!).

Don't know what to do about swimwear for when I go on holiday, I will be 23 weeks by then! Is it ok to wear a bikini for sunbathing, really don't fancy the awful maternity one pieces I've seen...

mrsfazruns · 01/07/2015 21:42

So the conclusion is all DH's are walking thin lines with the food/weight comments!! Lol I went shopping today but shops where I live are pretty small new look or DP and waSnt impressed with what they had!!! Off to scotland to visit family in the morning so might have to go shopping!!

On a funnier note .... My puppy has eaten my pre-natal vits!! Stupid dog .... At least we know he's not anaemic lol

Blackandwhitecat3 · 01/07/2015 22:06

Looking you wear that bikini with pride. I would, but with my new boobs it would barely cover my nipples!

I felt the same about buying new clothes, but then figured I'd probably wear some of them again before I finish losing my baby bump next year. And some of them are so floaty I'll be able to wear them for more than just the next month or so.

Lol about your dog Mrsfaz, hope he's ok. My DH knows to only be positive about my shape, however he walked a very thin line at the weekend about my new (oversized and sensible) clothing and shoe purchases. I'm not sure he'll make that mistake again Grin

kep1979 · 01/07/2015 22:20

I had to go shopping as nothing fit. I did first go up one size in trousers, but they've only lasted a few weeks - so did an online shop at Seraphine.

Got some under bump skinny jeans that are lovely and comfy although I reckon I'll need some big over bump by end of second trimester. Also got some work trousers and s couple of longer tops. And very grateful for my hotmilk sleep bra!

MissMartin10 · 01/07/2015 23:38

ive just started bleeding quite heavily again. . im just so upset i don't know what to do!?

coffeenut · 01/07/2015 23:57

missmartin where are you in your cycle? Have previous bleeds been heavy? You know the risk of mc is quite low for you having seen your baby on a scan and given you have a history of bleeds I'm sure it's nothing. Book into the epu in the morning to put your mind at rest xx

lil I'm thinking of you hoping it's nothing serious. Sending positive thought for tomo's scan.

I was in jeans one size up (which I'd bought post birth last time - don't worry your clothes will all get a good workout!) but then had to start using elastic bands in the button hole even with them. And the button hole thing wore thin pretty quickly. I'm now in over the bump mat jeans but they feel huge even in the 10. I know by the end I'll probably fill them though. I also struggle with the weight gain. For me pregnancy = weight gain no matter how hard I try not to put it on (I'm convinced it's the hormones as I do the same on the pill). I'm also former anorexic as I think I've said before and the first pregnancy was really hard in that respect. I struggle mentally with the weight gain but it's made easier by knowing that I lose it all fairly quickly afterwards (fingers crossed that happens a third time anyway). DH wouldn't dare saying anything negative! In fact he's terrible in encouraging me to eat for two, even though he is incredibly fit and very strict himself on sugar etc.

MissMartin10 · 02/07/2015 00:06

thanks coffee Smile .. im sure it will be fine but im pretty hysterical tbh... i have just called nhs 111 and they advised me to go to an out of hours doctors within the next 2 hours

MissMartin10 · 02/07/2015 00:44

oh a midwife at an out of hours surgery had just called and advised me it is most likley breakthrough bleeding as the placenta doesn't properly kick in until around 12weeks so its not strong enough to control the hormones that make the af.. abs she said as ive had a scan and everything was fine i shouldn't worry..few! i still might ring doctor in the morning though and see what they say?

Chip86 · 02/07/2015 02:18

That sounds good news martin hope yu get a gp appointment to
Thinking of you lil
I'm up because of my tiny tiny tiny blader oh well hope everyone else is getting some sleep in this hot weather

crumble74 · 02/07/2015 05:14

Oh missmartin, that must be such a worry for you. Try & get comfort and reassurance from your good scan and from what the MW said. Flowers

All the best for today liliana

I can't sleep...combo of sicky feeling and heat.

BeeMyBaby · 02/07/2015 06:07

I hope everything goes well for you today liliana - has the bleeding lessened at all?

Very interesting what the mw told you missmartin re the breakthrough bleeding, I never knew that.

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 02/07/2015 06:08

Hope you get the news you're after today MissMartin and lil.

Looking DH and I are hoping to have a final child-free holiday later in the year. He wants to go in october (his birthday is 20th) but I feel like I'd be really far along then and would prefer sometime in september. Just need to find some money for it now!

I hope my bikinis still fit, or at least a couple of them. Damn these big boobies, makes buying swimwear so much more difficult and expensive!

Lilliana · 02/07/2015 06:39

Thank you for thinking of me - I think the next few hours might be long ones! I'm too scared to check bleeding as every time I think it's slowing it starts again.
missmartin I hope everything is ok. I'm hanging onto your mw words.

I had a tankini when I was last pregnant - not a mat one just bought a bigger top for bump and boobs and a regular sized bottoms or maybe just one size up as they kind if sat under the bump.

MissMartin10 · 02/07/2015 07:50

thanks ladies Smile its cleared up now thankgod! but omg my eyes are still swollen from crying so much..

Lil do you have a scan today? i have my fx its just the same with you x

I'm not going to the doctors I'm just going to roll with what the midwife said because it is when my af would have been due if i go from lmp and im 10w4d now.. so my minds at rest.
Can't believe its still so hot and sunny at 8am after that thunderstorm last night!!

MissMartin10 · 02/07/2015 07:54

maybe my sil has massive boobs then a small bum so has to by 2 bikini sets one in a 16 for her top and one in a 8 for her bottom's they don't sell them seperately in Ireland..Hmm v.costly lol
