Try bravissimo for big boobed bikinis - they do the bottoms separately. Also fig leaves have a lot of the same stock but cheaper.

Have called in sick. Haven't eaten anything since lunch yesterday and this tummy bug still has me in pain.

Glad you're feeling more positive MissMartin, though don't be afraid to ask for a reassurance scan if you want one. Liliana I have my fingers crossed for your scan today.

MissMartin10 · 02/07/2015 08:07

i don't want to waste their time as in only had a scan last week after my last bleed?

fourlegstwolegs · 02/07/2015 08:11

Fingers crossed for your scan today Liliana x

fourlegstwolegs · 02/07/2015 08:12

ps MissMartin you aren't wasting their time, don't worry and I'm sure all is well.

crumble74 · 02/07/2015 08:34

maybe I'd definitely recommend a last couple's holiday before baby arrives! I remember feeling the same as you last year. We booked a week away and it was about 10 weeks before my due date. I thought I would have been really big by then but people hardly noticed and I was also really fine with walking lots etc. As long as you get a fit to fly letter & airline is fine you may have no issues travelling until later in 3rd trimester.

TeenieDeenie · 02/07/2015 09:06

MissMartin sorry to hear you've had a rough night and glad you're feeling a bit better about things this morning. I'd agree with fourlegs tho, you're not wasting anyone's time... Ask for another scan if you feel you need the extra reassurance. Smile

Lilliana Fingers and toes crossed for you today.

B&W Sounds like you need a day off! I've had two stomach bugs over the past few months and they're no fun at all when you're well, never mind in early pregnancy. I hope it eases soon.

10 weeks today for me. I actually had some energy last night so went for a 30 minute swim. It felt good to be active again and the pool was lovely and cool.

On the subject of holidays, me and OH have a relaxing trip to Malta booked for the last week in Sept. That'll be out last hoiday just the two of us Smile. I'll be 22 weeks so hoping to be feeling good and not to be too big by that point. I was having a look online and bonprix do some lovely maternity tankinis. Does anyone know if there is any guidelines on hot weather and being in the sun when you have a bump? ie. Is it better to keep it covered???

Morning all...

Well I'm finally beat. I've not had a day off sick in over a year but this heat has crippled me. Struggled through yesterday and spent all night feeling incredibly sick and dizzy. Got to work this morning, my (lovely) boss said 1 thing that stressed me and I burst into hormonal tears and she sent me home..... So here I am.

On a plus note I am 12 Wk today!!!! GrinGrinGrin

I know we don't have our scan til next week but it feels like a big, happy milestone.

Fx for you both Lilli and MissMartin

Juniper44 · 02/07/2015 10:01

Teenie- you'll burn more easily, but as far as I know, that's the only guidance.

We're going to Majorca at the end of July. Hope we survive that heat! Poor DD did not enjoy yesterday- it was 35'c here and she was wilting like a flower.

Fingers crossed for you Lill. Hope the scan goes well Flowers

Blackandwhitecat3 · 02/07/2015 10:18

Congratulations on making it to 12 weeks, Sleepy it feels great to get there, doesn't it? Hope you have a good rest today.

I definitely made the right decision to stay home, have slept loads already.

Hope it's cooler today for everyone.

crumble74 · 02/07/2015 10:19

b&w Hope you feel better soon. DH has been struck by a stomach bug and had the last 2 days off. It sounds awful but he appears to be feeling better today.

kep1979 · 02/07/2015 10:25

sleepy I've come home from work too. Was grabbing a tea from our coffee bar and nearly fainted - I think the only reason I didn't was cause I was holding the tea and didn't want to cause a fuss! Faint feelings didn't go so came home and now lay on bed in front of the fan. This pregnancy milarky has its tough bits doesn't it?!

missmartin I agree with others, you are not making a fuss or being silly so don't worry about pushing for a scan if you need the reassurance.

I hope you and liliana get some comfort today.

And b&w sounds like you definitely made the right decision staying at home.

floodwoman23 · 02/07/2015 10:28

Oooh Juniper, we just got back from Majorca. It was lovely - I highly recommend Es Trenc beach if you want a bit more space.

Fx for both of you Lil & Miss Martin

Had a rotten night last night. Don't know if it was the heat or anxiety about our scan but I woke up every hour. Then floodboy was up at 5.30 again. Tired is not the word for it!

Scan was good - babyflood is measuring 11 weeks which makes sense as I think I ovulated late. So due date is now 21/01/16. I have another scan in 2 weeks for the NT screening as baby was too small to measure accurately but was very active and heart was beating away beautifully.

Phew! I had a little tear and I think even stoic floodman was a bit watery eyed. Smile

fishermanswife1 · 02/07/2015 10:38

Hi all, back after 5 days radio silence, on an island with no signal.
It has been lovely catching up on good scan and harmony news, but thinking of ladies having worrying times. Fx for today's scans.

Well I'm beat after that work trip. It was very physically demanding and in such heat! I volunteered to spend the one afternoon indoors looking after a lady suffering with heat stroke, but at least kept me out of the sun. Not like me, but I also opted out of a snorkel safari Sunday morning. But with the rocky shore and a bit of swell I just felt a bit vulnerable. Does that sound daft? Now trying to frantically catch up with other work while trying not to fall back to sleep and dribble. Hope everyone keeps cool and well today!

SleepyDragon · 02/07/2015 10:39

Thank B&W it does yes Grin

Kep hope you feel better soon! I find the annoying thing is not being able to tell anyone at work shy I'm so flaky and brain dead at the minute as we don't want to tell the 'general public' as it were till after our scan despite today being 12 week mark.

Brooke113 · 02/07/2015 10:49

Are all you ladies counting how many weeks you are from lmp? I had my positive opk on may 4th, so don't understand how baby could be measuring at 10w6 yesterday?

EdgarAllenPoe · 02/07/2015 10:50

What a terrible night's sleep (or not) last night. It was just so stuffy and warm in our bedroom I couldn't get comfy. Hubby put the fan on me and didn't even have the traditional moan about the cost of running it all night, so I know I must have been a rather pathetic sight. He kept checking all night if I was okay, awww bless him.

Feeling crappy today, but still not had any days off work. Plus I get to leave early today for my 12 week scan. This is my first scan, so we are super excited!

brickiemum2 · 02/07/2015 10:58

Brooke, what would your date by lmp and your date by ov be? How different are they? Date by lmp always assumes you ov on day 14 so doesn't work for everyone.

Brooke113 · 02/07/2015 11:07

Edgar good luck for your 12w scan :)

brickie lmp is April 20th positive opk 2 weeks later on may 4th. From lmp I'm 10w3d, but baby measured 10w6 yesterday, I'm a little confused.

Juniper44 · 02/07/2015 11:09

Brooke- my dates are all over the place, but the sonographer told me to trust the scan over opk. Opk would give me a edd of 2nd Feb, but scans put me at 22nd Jan!

SleepyDragon · 02/07/2015 11:18

Edgar my DH is exactly same about the cost of running a fan overnight but he did the same and 'let' me have it on all night lol!

G'luck with your scan!

I feel guilty not being at work but I work in a basement with no air con, no fans and a window that only opens 3inches (literally) I have a thermometer in my office as there's 3 of us on dual computers, yesterday it read 37 and this morning it read 24 at 7:45am!

Not do-able! Lol!

Oysterbabe · 02/07/2015 11:25

Having eaten beetroot a few days ago I now know that my gastrointestinal transit time has slowed to 4 days. No wonder I feel so bloated and gross! Bleugh.
This place is great for over sharing. Grin

Blackandwhitecat3 · 02/07/2015 11:38

Brooke, you ovulated on day 14 so both LMP and ov date put you at 10w3D with an edd of 25 Jan. this is an estimate.

Your scan yesterday, they measured the length of your baby and from this estimated you to be 10w6 days (11w today) with an edd of 21 Jan.

All figures are estimates based on the average baby. Most babies are born in a 20 day window with edd in the middle. 3 days difference between estimates at 10 weeks is nothing. The earlier your scan (and the smaller your baby) the bigger the error in measurement. You will get another measurement at your 12 week scan (and no it doesn't matter if you're 13 weeks then) but for now I would go with the dates from ovulation.

Hth

Blackandwhitecat3 · 02/07/2015 11:40

Ah, oyster, have missed you! I thought you would like to know that my mouth today tastes like I've been gargling the liquid you find at the bottom of the kitchen bin.

Oysterbabe · 02/07/2015 11:41

Mmm lovely Blackandwhite
This pregnancy lark is super glamorous innit?

fishermanswife1 · 02/07/2015 11:42

Brooke I know it's confusing isn't it! My LMP would give me an EDD of 2nd Jan, but I have long cycles so used my ov date to calculate EDD as 7th Jan.

Still, when I went for first scan they put me back even further to EDD 15th Jan! So I went from thinking I was 11+5 to 10+4 weeks pregnant in a day!

As juniper said, my sonographer said the dating scan is the most accurate way of measuting how far along you are. I couldn't understand it as I knew when I ovulated, but she said there's a lot going on "in there" that can affect your dates. For example they suspect I had a long and slow implantation period, or the clear blue ov test I took was inaccurate, as some women produce the hormones earlier than others. Who knows, so I'm just going with the date they give me at my next 12 week scan (as it turned out to be early at my last) tomorrow.
