*convinced it's a boy!

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/06/2015 18:07

Oh and aloha we can be cyst buddies again as even though the sobographer at the private place said mine had gone, when I went for my 12 week scan turns out I hasn't Hmm it has shrunk luckily from 6cm to 4.5cm, but unfortunately means I'm consultant lead for now. It's good that they're cautious but I would rather be midwife lead!

aliquid · 30/06/2015 18:14

looking if it was me I'd take that low risk and be done. They wouldn't do any further tests anyway if youre classed as low. We did get a ratio percentage but it didn't mean much to me I was just happy nothing else needed doing!

I wanted to do nub theory as a bit of fun but not sure it's visible!

kep1979 · 30/06/2015 18:44

This group is so lovely - it is exciting hearing about all the scans and great results. Congrats to all who had scans today - and yay crumble a girl Smile. I still cannot get my head around it - dh said something about "our daughter" yesterday and I a) nearly cried and b) got weirded out!

joey I'm the same - by the end of the day I look huge, and then back to normal in the morning - normal being a small pooched out bump but nothing solid! I cannot wait to have a proper bump - I wonder when that will happen? This is dc3 so I assume I'll have a bump earlier than some of you ladies with less elastic -non existent-- abs!

I usually love the heat, but all my hot weather clothing is uncomfy and tight and my hayfever is awful so I feel housebound. Is anyone else suffering? I think I'd feel better if I had a pool Smile - roll on my holiday in less than 8 weeks! Although, the cote d'azur without provencal rose wine and brie will be tough! This little Bean is totally worth it.

Only 6 days until my official 12 week scan and a week today we will be telling my boys they are having a little sister! I am so so excited and hiding it so well

kep1979 · 30/06/2015 18:50

Completely forgot to say that I finally had my booking appointment today - was expectedly dull. As expected I am high risk and will be consultant led, and definitely another c-section. So I started looking in my diary to see when they'd probably schedule it Smile. A Friday would be great, as dh is just about to change from a permanent with holidays job to being a self employed contractor so not paid for days off. So a Friday would mean just one day off, then he could be with us over the weekend and then go back to work until I come out of hospital, and then have a couple of weeks off.

I think I'm overthinking this - back to looking at baby stuff

AlohaMama · 30/06/2015 19:37

oh good looking it's always nice to have a cyst buddy Wink

aliquid · 30/06/2015 19:39

Finally figured out how to attach pictures. Is it nubless?!

What the hell is a "nub"?

MissMartin10 · 30/06/2015 19:44

i second joey ??

MissMartin10 · 30/06/2015 19:47

aliquid Sorry i was on my phone so i didn't see the pic.. wow! What an amazingly clear scan.. Grin

Tonicandgin · 30/06/2015 19:52

Still hiding pregnancy from virtually everyone but bloody hot weather means I can't bundle up my bump! So really hard to cover especially as I'm pretty bumpy.

My dads coming round tomorrow and I don't want to share yet.

He got so worried last time it drove me bonkers (he's an only child as my grandma lost a number of babies, pre and post birth, so I understand it's natural). But his projected fears made me worse so I'm hiding it until I've seen the scan.

Oh and I'm not sharing my due date either! Wish I hadn't last time as I got phonecalls every day a week or so before right up until she was born (8 days after EDC). Drove me crazy.

So I'm giving people an approximate window, they will only know a 4 wk window (2 wks before and 2 after EDC). Only 4% of babies arrive on their due date anyway and helps to take the pressure off I'm hoping.

TeenieDeenie · 30/06/2015 19:53

Fab scan pic aliquid, so clear! Can't see a nub, but only half sure of what I'm looking for ha ha! Do you have any inkling of what you might be having?

OP posts:
aliquid · 30/06/2015 20:02

Ha ha joey and missmartin Google 'nub theory'! Basically at the 12 week scan you can sometimes see a genital 'nub' that some say depending on the angle tells you girl and boy; parallel to the spine-girl, pointing to sky-boy. Entirely a bit of fun, but as I said, I don't think you can see it on mine! teenie my gut keeps coming back to girl but not sure if it's because I have ds already so subconsciously want to see what a girl is like! Honestly don't mind either way though!

babybabynamechange · 30/06/2015 20:21

Oh yes, that reminds me that unless you are having a ELC (and possibly even then) I would not tell anyone your due date. Many of my friends were driven completely bonkers by well meaning calls, texts and emails from people wanting to "check" for weeks!

I didn't tell ANYONE (except DH and eventually, HR at work) my EDD. I said I was due "around the second week of September" - actually it was 25th August, DS was 12 days late and I avoided all the annoyance!!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 30/06/2015 20:32

Ah, a lovely day to catch up on. Congratulations on great scan pics and new girls.

Welcome nicnics and mrst, it's a busy bus but plenty of room on board (especially as we're all expanding!). Congratulations on your pregnancies Flowers.

I had a better day today at work, trying to not let it stress me.

And yes, definitely feel sicker in the heat, was so sick last night, and nauseous this afternoon. Have lost my appetite completely and lost another 2 lbs. Today I have mostly eaten.....sausages!

I'm out of jam tarts, bugger!

TeenieDeenie · 30/06/2015 21:02

Ooohhh B&W, I could definitely go a jam tart right now... Nothing even remotely like that in the cupboards/fridge tho... Must get some tomorrow!

OP posts:
Blackandwhitecat3 · 30/06/2015 21:22

I have a whole load of cake, but can't face it.

My body definitely wants jam tarts. Shopping tomorrow!

Yokyil · 30/06/2015 21:31

Caught up again - so lovely hearing all the scan news everyone Grin
Bump really wanted a Dominos tonight...lol, there was spinach on it tho Wink
Nausea definitely subsided instead of all day it's just certain times I'll get a wave of it, but the tiredness is ridiculous at the minute. Dragging myself out of bed for work in the mornings Zzzz.....

impatientlywaiting · 30/06/2015 23:14

I actually really quite believe in the nub theory. I was reading a study tonight that said it was shown to be 95% accurate at 12 weeks when the nub was showing.

Aliquid I posted my scan pic on ingendered forum. They are all nub experts and they all guessed girl for me and that's what I thought when I watched my scan on screen. Quite tempted by early gender scan now to actually find out. Sorry Aliquid I'm on my phone so can't see your pic to see whether I think the nub is visible or not.

coffeenut · 01/07/2015 00:34

congrats on the scans and lovely scan pics! Flowers

And another girl crumble congrats !!!! Grin Girls are ace - and so easy Wink

I'm 13 weeks today by LMP so I think that means I'm officially in second trimester!

So jealous of the hot weather over there. Top of 14 degrees here today. (Bet I'll be whinging when it's 38 degrees and I'm 38 weeks pregnant).

Blackandwhitecat3 · 01/07/2015 04:26

Indeed, Coffee, I'm mightily glad it'll be winter here when I'm huge.

Been awake since 3 with pain low on the left, I'm 99.5% sure it's trapped wind. Agony Confused. Hope it goes by the morning, I'm really bloated and won't be able to hide the bump!

Lilliana · 01/07/2015 04:41

Shit shit shit. Well after being thrilled ms had buggered of I've started bleeding. I know it can all be ok but after last time I'm thinking the worst. Will call doc when they open - they should give me a scan without me having to be too pushy shouldn't they? I don't have the energy to fight for it and I can't wait over a week not knowing Sad

Blackandwhitecat3 · 01/07/2015 04:46

Oh Liliana I really hope that is just a bit of bleeding. You shouldn't need to push for a scan, but don't be afraid to push for one, I do think they understand.

If you want to, you can ring 111 out of hours, they took down details and then the out of hours doc rang me back before the surgery opened.

How many weeks are you? Would your AF have been due?

Lilliana · 01/07/2015 05:02

Thanks cat I'm not sure how many weeks as was still in the wtf cycle when we got pregnant- we think between 11 and 12 weeks. It's not as bad as I expected this morning and a pregnancy test has come back as strongly positive so that's good. I'm going to feel like a fraud if all is ok but I'm going to spend the next week and a half panicking about it if I don't go. You don't know how relieved I am to have someone answer - thanks so much I didn't expect anyone to be up yet.

Lilliana · 01/07/2015 05:04

I called out of hours last time as it was a bank holiday and they were really good. I hadn't thought to call them, I was just going to wait for the surgery to open.
