Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 31st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 49th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: Stats

My MIL had a quiet word with me in the kitchen one day about how MrZ's dad had to be weaned super early because he was always hungry and wanted to feed all the time and how some people just don't make enough mlk. This was when H was on me all the time (and she's still a snacker now), luckily I'd been to a group and read up so I said " thankfully we understand more about how it works on supply and demand and now and how some just snack but still get enough"

I'm sure she thought it was helpful, cos she's usually lovely, but it can feel like a dig at the time! I think she just wanted more cuddles and loves giving her the occasional bottle of expressed milk now :)

Jcandy · 27/06/2015 19:47

Where on earth are you ga??? It's been cloudy at times today but had been really warm too, even the wind in warm! And I'm derbyshire so not south south

Jcandy · 27/06/2015 19:48

I'm having a becks blue Smile as alcohol free beer goes it's pretty good!

Purpleball · 27/06/2015 20:01

Evening lovelies

I'm sat in the garden while DH barbecues steak Smile
Antenatal class was fab but so much to take in and I'm worried I've forgotten stuff - never thought to take a pad and pen! I didn't want to look like I was on my phone either.
They haven't convinced me I want an induction but I'm kinda hoping I go into labour before the section date now. They were helpful about sections but I've had some conflicting advice about BF and freezing colostrum. She's going to contact the infant feeding advisor and ask her to ring me so I can speak to the expert.

I'd forgotten we have a paddling pool. It might be getting some use soon then Smile We also have some of those big round tubs which I could dip my feet in on a hot day.

teejayem · 27/06/2015 20:19

Tiny tee and I just did a high five. He carried on feeding until about half seven, and she gave up and went home while I was changing him. I'm having a crabbies ginger ale to celebrate. Bet the little sod doesn't sleep tonight. Also trying very hard to not start on Mr tee about what she said, we've had a bit of a scratchy day, and I'm tired from the mega feeds and not much kip, and aware I'm being a bit of a shit, and I've been horrid most of the afternoon, so I'm just letting it all wash over me....

I'm pretty happy he's getting enough milk, he has rolls of fat on his thighs! taking after his mother but fucking hell she knows how to rub me up the wrong way. What with her and the twat HV. Grr.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/06/2015 20:19

Oh sweet sweet Ben & Jerry's! How do I love thee, in my tummeeee!

pud - non alco Becks Blue and non alco Koppaberg. Both taste exactly the same as the alco. Nanny State by Brewdog is awesome if you're a beer fan, very flavoursome.

Hooray for Eris not throwing up the chicken so far! Good shout dipping it in water, that's what I do with my Charlie when he has cystitis - I add extra water to his food.

My cats are driving me nuts - they are very clingy at the moment and meow at me lots.

Is your MIL popping round without being asked tee? That's not on if so - you need time with baby and not having people breathing down your neck, offering 'advice' and wanting to cuddle the baby when you need to concentrate on his feeding.

I love Schloer! I particularly like the fizzy one that's like Prosecco. I pretend its prosecco and take it to parties.

honey I hadn't realised you'd stopped using the tub, but that totally makes sense. You're not meant to use them in pregnancy so perhaps just hold off til you're further down the line?

ga it's ROASTING here! Your description of County Durham sounds just like I remember the n-east! My grandparents lived in Shields until they died a few years back and I loved it - their street was like something out of Billy Elliot. There's no Waitrose in scotland either - correct me if I'm wrong wil? Somerfield, Scotmid and Farmfoods rule! dh still calls the co-op 'scotmid' here

purple don't worry you'll get the same info a millions times more before you're due!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/06/2015 20:23

tee what is it about mils???

I'm always trying to keep mine updated as I know she feels far away in Scotland and so I'm trying to be nice. So I sent her what I thought was a nice bump photo of me two days ago on my birthday - I'm big but then I'm bloody full term, so who isn't at that point?! It was taken with our new camera we bought for baby coming and I thought it was a really nice pic. I sent it in email saying 'photo of me full term with new camera - very tired but feeling good!'

Response from mil:

'You look well but like you could use a sling or a wheelbarrow or something'

Right...

Thanks...

DulcetMoans · 27/06/2015 20:34

Haha. Excellent response la. Supportive! Well done for keeping calm tee. Just tell her all the ways you would know if he wasn't getting enough and tell her to sod off! Sounds like we all have some excellent MiL action going on. Mine has annoyed me today too. Three phone calls and half a dozen texts. One text I didn't reply to so half an hour later she's on the phone to make sure I haven't fallen in a hole or died in a gas leak (actual concern she had once when we didn't answer the phone!) She doesn't get why it stresses me out either!

Is it normal Ben and Jerrys la or that new one with cookie core? I can't imagine we won't be trying that before the end of the week in the Dulcet household!

Have you got more classes purple? They will go over similar stuff. And didn't they give you handouts?

OP posts:
Purpleball · 27/06/2015 20:48

They gave us loads of handouts. No more classes though. I will read everything - hope it's in there Smile

LaLaLaaaa · 27/06/2015 20:57

Big chunks of cookie dough dulcet, sweet sweet cookie dough! Yum yum yum! Amazing how ice cream can fix all ills.

How does your mil think you survived before she came along? Mine just seems to be blessed with foot in mouth syndrome. I swear she's the kindest lady in the world and loves me to bits, but she just seems to insult me every time she opens her gob.

My favourite still was in the week of my wedding. We had invited all the bridal party to a party the night before the wedding, fully catered by my family, to welcome everyone and give them the chance to get to know each other. My parents, dhs parents, our siblings and their partners and then the bridesmaids and groomsmen. We were buying in loads of pizzas, burgers, salad stuff, etc. etc. plus providing all the alcohol.

On the Monday before the Friday party I get a phone call, when I'm already in 'I'm so stressed about getting everything done in time for wedding' mode. It's mil.

She wants to know what we'll be serving at the party on Friday, because she'd like to know in advance whether she'll need to send out for a fish supper (fish and chips in scotland).

Fleurchamp · 27/06/2015 21:02

My MIL left her shoes on the stairs and I tripped over them - I was left swinging from the bannister.... It could have been worse but I am milking her guilt Grin

So, count yourself lucky that your MIL is not trying to bump you off Angry

Ps the icecream sounds amazing. I had to make do with strawberries and cream.

honeysucklejasmine · 27/06/2015 21:07

Yeah, you lot do have some pretty me tal mother in laws! Mine is very nice and considerate. I am observing how she is with new DN. I think she'll be a good, normal Grandma.

I'm not planning to use the hot tub myself, but DH is desperate to get back in.

DulcetMoans · 27/06/2015 21:11

Sorry la, I need more clarification on the ice cream. Do you mean you have regular cookie dough ice cream or the new fangled one with the cookie core?

She also loves me and I am sure in her eyes is looking out for me but she is such a natural worrier which I find difficult. She always assumes the worst and it's a bit draining. We are considering when to tell her I am in labour - DH says to tell her once baby is here but I think that's a bit unfair. But tell her too early will have her in the phone every 10 minutes!

But your right fleur, she isn't trying to kill me! You ok?!

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 27/06/2015 21:14

la I don't know if they like it but I have read and been told it's good for binding their stomach's when they have diarrhoea. I think the problem with rice can be that cat's sometimes have allergies to it.

Sorry I've not properly read back. tee hope your ok after your MiL's tactfullness.

ga it's been 27 here today. Lovely! :)

WilHarlot · 27/06/2015 21:15

Hahaha loving all the MIL chat. Mine wants us to visit at some point in the summer but we're going over in September and not sure I can face the trip twice with two kids in tow. Also we don't do much while we're there and now after all the talk on here, I'd quite like to go to Northumberland instead and do lots of lovely day trips Grin .

So jealous of all the ice cream scoffing. Can't wait until I can eat it again.

We do have Waitrose here - you've been away too long La. I've got a card and everything.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/06/2015 21:17

Oh god at least mine's not trying to bump me off! :D you ok fleur?

How is the stitch dulcet.

I think it's the normal cookie dough - I don't think they have new-fangled stuff on Dominos menu. It had big globs of cookie dough in it, not a core. Hang on - is this what you mean? Wow that looks good! No I've just got the normal one.

Still very very nice!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/06/2015 21:30

WTAF wil no way!? Where?? Oh hang on, is it in Morningside or Bears Den? If so that figures...

Purpleball · 27/06/2015 21:31

My mil is very nice. I think she's glad DH finally met-someone! They just do things differently to my family. She does a lot for her other GC but isn't near enough to help with ours. It gets my goat when they've all done things together and we've not been invited but I think that's more SIL than anything else. DH doesn't think anything of it. I think he's just used to not being invited!
I've got to stop giving SIL headspace trying to work out why she doesn't like me. I can drive myself nuts with it! I've never been anything other than nice to her, invited her to things but she never accepts. She's been invited to my baby shower - I'll place money on her not comingSmile
Mil hasn't offered any advice butis supportive and interested. I can't get my head around her not offering to help with baby stuff. I need to stop giving that headspace too.
Mum is helpful and supportive but thinks anything done differently to what she did is wrong!

maemay · 27/06/2015 21:35

Ha! MILs be crazy. Thankfully mine's lovely (though she doesn't know yet that I'm carrying her grandchild, so maybe she'll go mental after we've told her!)

Weather forecast predicts 33 this week in London! Shock Think I'm gunno melt! Or eat ALL the icecream in Sainsbury's! Yes, maybe I'll do that!

DulcetMoans · 27/06/2015 21:41

That's the one la. Looks good doesn't it? DH saw the advert too and he was dribbling. I expect him to bring some home by Friday! Stitch seems to be gone for now which is good but kept it pretty low key today. Just sat on sofa and done some sewing.

That will be the real challenge of the relationship mae, carrying the grandchild! Haha. Luckily I get on well enough with mine to at least tell her she's annoying me and to leave me alone!

How far away are they wil? It's a big chunk of time of you have to spend half a day getting there and back.

Do you have lots of Morrisons up north? When our town got one it was a big deal and I had never even heard of it! This was some years ago though and they are even on the tellybox now! We only had asda before.

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 27/06/2015 21:55

Ha! I just looked them up saddo and one is in Morningside - score one point to me! The other is Comely Bank, which is also posh.

Glasgow - Byres Road (that figures) and Newton Mearns (also makes lots of sense, nice area). But Milngavie? Milngavie has gone up in the world since I was last there! I need to get my ass back to Scotland pronto - things are changing too much. My friend just moved to Milngavie though and says it's lovely there now.

I do miss Semichem and Farmfoods. You don't get them down here.

DulcetMoans · 27/06/2015 21:56

We have a farm foods!

I upset the undergrads - I stole the last post and now I feel bad. Confused

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 27/06/2015 22:06

HA!!! Just saw it - you're evil! ;)

Did they have a new thread already set up?

oneyorkshirepud · 27/06/2015 22:07

Ha they are not really upset with you Dulcet!

There are Morrisons darn sarf and everything now; we get their deliveries. Cheaper than Tesco and better quality food.

DulcetMoans · 27/06/2015 22:11

They did but only like a minute before - I didn't leave lil enough time to post and say where it was. I am a bad person, but maybe it's a common sense test now, if they can't find it and identify a JSer thread from the list then they can't play!

We have a morrisons now. I don't like it. DH does though, he gets a lot of reduced bread!
