Anybody else out there??! Just got my faint BFP on a first response test! Only 9DPO so shouldn't really have tested - I told myself I wouldn't till I missed my period! - but was just feeling very pregnant. My due date is showing as 1st March. This would be number 2 for me, I already have a little girl, 20 months. Only symptoms so far are very sore boobs and a snuffy nose first thing in the morning!

Candlefairy I've heard a lot of people say Pregnacare makes them feel rubbish, but I've been taking Centrum before and during pregnancy and feel absolutely fine on it. Perhaps you could just try a different vitamin?

Yesterday I got some Omega oil, I'm vegetarian so it's a mixture of different seed oils. You're supposed to take 15ml daily but I had a little bit on my finger last night and almost vomited in the sink, it tastes like fish oil to me! I got my husband to try it and he said it didn't taste like fish and wasn't bad. This morning I added 15ml into my breakfast smoothie. Halfway through it I actually gagged Sad. I usually have a whole grapefruit in my breakfast smoothie though, and had run out today, so I'm going to try again tomorrow and hope that it covers the taste better Hmm.

Here I've looked up the Harmony test a bit more. I'm based in Liverpool and they do it at LWH but I think under a different name.

LaraNotCroft22 · 24/06/2015 12:21

Hi I'm on pregnacare. Took it last time and was ok though I swear my stomachs dodgy this time!

Purple I had and early scan with my first and it does put your mind at ease. I'll do the same this time as fall around eight weeks on my birthday so will go then.

I'm off to the docs today to register with midwives, ahh so exciting!!

purplecat27 · 24/06/2015 12:51

I've been to the GP this morning! I was given an Emma's diary, have any of you guys had one/heard of them?

He's also going to contact the obs and cardios about one of my medications so feeling a bit worried about that but I'm sure I'll be in the best hands.

smallbird · 24/06/2015 13:00

I didn't get given an Emma's Diary with DD purple. Is it something you fill in? I used the website a couple of times when I was pregnant with DD but I found it a bit schmaltzy.

In fact I don't think I was given anything at my GP appointment, just the pack at my first midwife app.

Is it your first purple?

ImGoingForATwix · 24/06/2015 13:18

Welcome smallbird!

I booked my 'booking in' midwife appointment today, it's not for another month though. I forgot how much waiting around for stuff there is in early pregnancy!

I have found centrum the best multivit, but I'm taking the seven seas 'mum to be' one at the moment as I couldn't get centrum last time I was at the supermarket. It's fine so far. Pregnacare makes me feel unwell.

purplecat27 · 24/06/2015 13:22

Hi Smallbird, yes this is my first. They've given me a book, I'd say it's like a handbag-sized Glamour magazine but a bit thinner.Love your use of the word schmaltzy Grin.

ImGoingForATwix · 24/06/2015 13:26

This is a great calculator to find out how many weeks you'll be at certain times of the year. You might have to copy and paste the link.

purplecat27 · 24/06/2015 13:29

Twix I booked my booking in appointment today too, it's quite soon! Mine is on 9th July, I'll only be about 6 1/2 weeks!

Herewegoagain31 · 24/06/2015 14:06

I took Sanatogen Mum to Be for my first pregnancy and in fact I've been taking it for this one till yesterday (when I took the new one) and I had no problems on it at all as the levels of vitamins are low BUT I read online a while ago and funnily enough it was on Daily Mail website yesterday or the day before about one of the ingredients used in cheap vitamins, including my Sanatogen ones, a chemical called Titanium Dioxide, is a carcinogen. I think its a bulking agent or something in the cheap vitamins that come as solid tablets (Pregnacare, Sanatogen, Centrum etc). Now i have that knowledge I thought i would try to get a better quality vitamin this time round without all these artificial chemicals in. So that's why i tried a new one yesterday and had the torture I had last night - honestly it felt like my stomach was on fire I've never had anything like that before! Soo.. back to the cheap ones! Or actually I'm wondering whether not to bother as I do have a healthy diet and the NHS website says all women need is Folate and Vitamin D. I just worry as DD had vitamins when she was in my tummy that this one deserves them as well and if anything was to go wrong I would wonder if it was the lack of vitamins (which is ridiculous!) Ah I had forgotten the joys of pregnancy worry!

Oh yes, the guilt, it starts as soon as you get the BFP doesn't it!

I was given a copy of Emma's diary last time and remember finding it quite condescending. Worth laughing at though!

I'm so pleased that I'll have the same MW as last time as she was brilliant, really down to earth and friendly.

Thanks for the link (clickable one here), I'm going to use it to check on certain dates now!

Candlefairy101 · 24/06/2015 14:27

Hi all just been to the dr, she said for me to only take folic acid and not even try the preg care as it's not worth me throwing as I've inly just had my youngest ???? oh also she's already started me on antisickness just in case! As I was walking out the sort she's said 'right then here we go again ????' x

I just took folic acid last time round and I think I'm going to do the same this time. I'm meant to take iron and a few other things anyway so I don't want to risk taking too much of anything.

You're all so organised with booking appointments and everything! I haven't sorted anything out yet.

That's good you've got a lovely midwife cunk. I'm hoping I don't get the same one as I had for the second half of my pregnancy last time, she was really condescending and refused to let me have a home birth after meeting me for ten minutes because she didn't think I'd cope. My first one was lovely, but she moved practices. Might try to change practice if condescending midwife is still at mine.

smallbird · 24/06/2015 14:57

And thanks for the stats list herewego!

Babybrain153 · 24/06/2015 17:58

Ooh Soozey , I'm 37 and DS is 4, I feel quite out of the loop with this pregnancy stuff. Can I stick with you?

Phoenix80 · 24/06/2015 22:54

I'm 34 and my youngest ds is 6 next month, I haven't got a clue about anything pregnancy or baby related haha!! Me and dh have been in Mothercare today and realised how much stuff we need that we never even thought of/forgot about.

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 25/06/2015 06:37

Right, we need to stick together! My DB and DSIL will be having their first in November and asked me for a list of things they'll need. I sat down to email them and suddenly thought, 'christ, I'll be needing this stuff for DC2'. I wish I'd saved bits from before.
