For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Thank you all so so much for all your reassurance, going to stick with doctors and your advice and do best to just relax!!! Gorgeous day here in London, going to make the most of it! Xxxx

Laura7010 · 10/07/2015 16:33

Ok, so these bounty women are like going on a roller coaster?? You buy an expensive photo at the end?! Lol!

annatha · 10/07/2015 19:04

I think I missed the bounty lady, or they don't venture out to Cumbria. Is it actually a decent photo they're offering? I tutored DH with my DSLR before the birth so we'd have some nice pictures.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 10/07/2015 19:27

I'm not sure,I didn't let them take one as I thought then the hard sell might start. I'm usually quite good at telling salespeople to f off but I was tired and a bit drugged up so didn't want to risk perhaps buying a load of stuff that wasn't great.
Just trying to see how much they are - their website doesn't say that I can see

annatha · 10/07/2015 21:05

Its really underhanded coming round when you've just given birth. I'm surprised that hospitals allow them in at all!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 10/07/2015 21:09

Hospitals get paid by Bounty to have unlimited access to post natal wards, including side rooms. I think some NHS trusts are rather reliant about this money from Bounty just to function.

The whole thing stinks.

EastEndGirl123 · 11/07/2015 11:12

Can I join in please? I'm 21 weeks with an edd of 17.11.15. Had my 20 week scan this week which has made things seem a lot more real. Currently team yellow, although may crack at some point. This is our first baby, we live in South London. I'm an obstetrician (outs self early!) so have lived in daily expectation of things going wrong since I got pregnant, but I think it's time I got over myself and started doing some positive pregnancy things, like joining mumsnet for example. So that's me, or us rather, hello!

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 11/07/2015 12:39

Afternoon all! 23 weeks today and all is going quietly so I'm not around much.

I feel like it's all going pretty well so far, I'm still managing the gym four or five times a week (although I'm definitely eating too much cake), the 20 week scan was absolutely fine, and pending results from my old hospital regarding my spinal fractures/hip degeneration I've actually been given the green light to try for a vaginal birth. So all positive!

I'm quite sore in the hips and lower back, but I'm powering through. I am another one in the house-moving camp, DP and I are hoping to move in together if he can get rid of his house before the birth. There are very few family rentals where we are, mostly student houses. If not I guess we'll just keep going as things are, he's only four hours away anyway.

Yep, also feeling massive! Grin And I don't intend to buy anything for ages yet, I still haven't even made a list, if that helps anyone who doesn't feel very organised....

CishAndFips · 11/07/2015 13:16

hi all not been round for a while due to lits of stress at work. im feeling massive but suprisingly ive only gained 3lb since my booking in appointment. also been told k look much slimer above the bump Hmm. not brought much yet a few vests and babyvgrows 1 outfit some nappiez wipes and toilitries etc although cotbed, wardrobe and chest of draws/ changing unit is coming on wed eek. i still have moses basket and a jumparoo from ds.

TakesTwoToTango · 11/07/2015 14:11

Welcome eastendgirl!

Good to hear from you Cish and stalph. Glad everything is going well. Need to eat less cake here too. Am a bit worried about the gtt. Never had it before but babies have been large ish and this one also big! Also concerned cholestasis might be reading it's ugly head Hmm but maybe the itching is just heat/hormones...?!? I guess I need to ring the dr and tell them they need to start testing me Hmm so don't want it though. Would rather bury my head in the sand (but obv won't). Was lying awake last night tying to decide if I would consent to induction or go straight for a section...

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 11/07/2015 17:02

Welcome EastEndGirl

TakesTwo I'm stressing at night too about the whole VBAC / ELCS thing. I'm not going to consent to induction but feels like a weird concept to me to have to decide having not got past 8 months before! It's tough deciding isn't it?

Does anyone have weird visuals? The Internet tells me it could be preeclampsia, but my blood pressure is usually low or normal. Wondering if it's my iron again? I'm seeing consultant midwife in the week anyway so will ask then

tootsroots · 11/07/2015 19:12

We live in Balham tootsroots, but I lived in tooting for many years, and trained at st George's. Not booked there though, I decided to book where I work.

tootsroots · 11/07/2015 21:49

Omg so close! How is pregnancy going so far for you?

OP posts:
CishAndFips · 12/07/2015 08:18

so the past two nights i just cant sleep. I take forever to get to sleep and then when i do get to sleep i wake up constantly. im hoping this is because of the heat and not the new norm Confused

Laura7010 · 12/07/2015 09:32

I had that chisandfips got into a terrible pattern with it, getting up for the loo and not getting back to sleep for ages. It seems to have died down now and I only wake up once and pretty swiftly get back to sleep, mostly!

EastEndGirl123 · 12/07/2015 10:23

Pregnancy is ok now thank you tootsroots. Had horrible vomiting the first four months which made life difficult at times, but that stopped around 17 weeks and now that I've had my 20 week scan the whole thing seems a lot more real. Growing out of most of my clothes is also making things seem more real! Are you going to do NCT locally by any chance? My mum has been nagging me to sign up, on the basis that making local friends with babies is important, but I'm a bit worried they may not want an obstetrician in their midst!

flyingsprocket · 12/07/2015 10:37

We've signed up for NCT (although we're out in West Sussex,) it filled up really quickly for our dates but there are probably more regular course dates up in London.

I'd love to have an obstetrician on our course!

EastEndGirl123 · 12/07/2015 11:02

Thank you flying, that helps! There do still seem to be courses in our area, so I'll look into it.

stace1986 · 12/07/2015 14:41

Abbey I have had some strange vision this weekend, almost like black spots/lights in my eyes. I avoided google when it kept saying pre eclampsia! Someone I know said it could be low blood sugar or dehydration.

tootsroots · 12/07/2015 15:08

EastEnd yeah this group was a bunch of sickies about that time too, some poor ladies have HG and are still going with it.. so much admiration for their positivity still, i woke up a stone lighter at 17 weeks and was relieved it had stopped finally.

RE NCT - I am indeed! A tooting and mitcham group for NCT i think ... not to learn about birth per se but to pay to make a couple of friends/dh to have support too... but i think the classes are somewhere in Balham! Happy to meet for a coffee tho work dependant to say hey! i am also about to join an ante natal pilates class based in tooting broadway, called Katies Pilates as a way to meet other mums to be in a 'normal' environment!!

I work in the City and no one asks about my job :( lol! lucky you ( in a warped way!) perhaps say you work in hosp at NCT and keep it general to stop people asking questions you can't answer? My bro is a dr, a brand new F1 in a few weeks and i would not dream of asking/quizzing him despite him probs knowing answers as i know he doesn't a) want to know b) talk about work! And obv as a family member cannot answer!
