For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Laura, I feel your pain. Was like a zombie in my first lesson this morning. Kept mixing up my words, so embarrassing. Luckily I seemed to come out of it by lunch. I still haven't had a risk assessment yet. I was thinking I should probably have one during our sports day practise session. I don't know what good it will do though.

I'm dithering over joining Facebook because as a teacher I have to be super careful with it. Also I would be oblivious if a parent in a year group I don't know was also on it, but they would probably recognise me. Super paranoid, but I bet a lot of them are mumsnetters, it's like a sea of Boden and Cath K at pick up and drop off!

austengirl · 24/06/2015 23:00

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down thatduck. Lots of good advice already, but it does sound like it's worth speaking to your midwife about. Try to be kind to yourself in the meantime.

I'm feeling a bit brighter today; yoga last night and cycling to work (rather than driving, which I've done the last 2 days) have both helped. Though the HR person at work has been nosing around to find out if I'm having a boy or a girl! It's none of her bloody business! I accidentally let it slip to close colleagues, and I don't mind them knowing, but I'd prefer the whole office didn't know. They'll find out in four months anyway.

Laura7010 · 25/06/2015 16:45

pinka I'm on Facebook. Just set your name as something people won't recognise and put a profile picture up that isn't you, a nice landscape or something. Then people won't suss it's you. My catchment isn't quite as highbrow as yours I don't think!! I have risk assessments coming out my ears! They wanted to take the wheels off my chair...

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 25/06/2015 16:53

Pinka on the Facebook there's a who and where we are bit. If you like you can PM me your town / area and I'll have a quick look if anyone is nearby? Would that help? I've got no kids at school so I won't know you Smile

Gr33dyeggs · 26/06/2015 07:20

This fell off my active threads so place marking again.

At 22 weeks now and I've been sick the past 2 mornings again. I think its a combination of poor sleep due to a cold/hayfever and anxiety because I've got bv. I'm hoping the antibiotics kick in quickly!
I'm working weekend too so no rest for me.
Enjoy Cadbury world laura! Did one risk include 'hormonal pregnant lady eating stock' Grin
A couple of my teacher friends had RA within the first trimester.

roughtyping · 26/06/2015 07:27

pinka take care of yourself re mixing up your words. I'm also a teacher and had a morning of mixing up words, had some RCCT where I was writing down spelling words - another teacher came in, looked at the words and saw I'd written total jibberish. Couldn't remember people's names, tunnel vision, weakness on one side - was sent home - HT wanted to drive me! Ended up with a horrendous migraine, only time I've had one (have had visual aura before but no pain). Look after yourself!

roughtyping · 26/06/2015 07:28

Also have people got their MATB1 forms yet? I handed mine in at work yesterday as it was the last day of term - not really sure what I was supposed to do as it was all a rush Hmm

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 26/06/2015 10:28

I need to get my MAT B1 form. It always seems to be that there's no appointments at the point you need the form. Luckily I have the consultant at 24 weeks so will be up at the hospital to get it then. Then I'll tell work...not looking forward to that!

gennibugs · 26/06/2015 10:41

I'm hoping I get mine at my week 24. no idea what to do with but the nice HR lady said she'll talk me through it all in a couple if weeks Smile

week 20 scan this afternoon.....currently trying to keep busy and not think about it!!

Alittlebitofeverything · 26/06/2015 12:54

I'm in a little bit of a dither about work...

Yesterday my boss comes to my office for a hush hush conversation to say he has met with one of our clients who are potentially interested in taking us over and he would know in a week or so if it was a viable option. I asked him if I still had a job and he sort of said erm well yes I think so.. just the reassurance you need at over 4 months pregnant!! So now I am in a bit of a flap as to what to do. I have looked into insurance protection policies before but from what I have seen they will only pay out if you are claiming job-seekers which obviously I wouldn't be if this happens just before or just after the baby is born as I wont be wanting to immediately go back to work.

The company is very small 5 employees, plus the director. I am the office manager and do everything from the book keeping to all HR type stuff (although not trained) and I am concerned that if we are taken over by a bigger company my job will become obsolete and basically I just don't trust my boss, I think he will be out for what he can get for himself.

This may not happen at all, he does have history of being a slight fantasist but what can I do to make sure bills etc are still paid? I am not so concerned about after the baby as I can always look for another job but I am concerned about between now and November/December as we need my income to help cover bills etc.

thatduck · 26/06/2015 14:09

Thank you for your kind words ladies,I had a good chat with dp about how I'm feeling :)

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 26/06/2015 15:41

Alittlebit I was under redundancy last pregnancy but was kept on so looked into this. You still get your maternity pay if they let you go. Also once you've let them know you're pregnant you get first refusal on any suitable jobs in a redundancy situation.

Fairydogmother · 26/06/2015 17:24

Hi can I join? I was on the December group but dates have changed so I'm due in November now!

Unthoughtknown · 26/06/2015 19:22

Welcome to team November fairy!

Hope everyone is feeling okay, I'm knackered but looking forward to some baby shopping tomorrow.

PinkaColada · 26/06/2015 23:22

Rough, that sounds so scary! Especially not being aware of how bad you really were. I did realise I was doing it though.

Abbey, thank you for the offer. Does it group page announce anything like 'pinka colada has joined the group'? If not, I could join and check out potential worries.

Anyone had any luck maternity clothes sale shopping? I've just ordered 2 sale bits and a non sale dress from seraphine. I've had such a bad run with asos, like 1 out of 6 items tolerable that I've decided to look elsewhere. Still mostly in larger/floatier non maternity, but the bump is kicking in now especially in the afternoon and even more so in the evening.

Unthoughtknown · 27/06/2015 07:44

Pinks the group is secret so won't show to anyone else.

Maternity clothes wise, got fab wide legged black trousers from h&m, some skinny jeans from ebay and some bits from Asda direct (good for basics) . Mainly skater style dresses other than that. The smallest range they have in h&m is my fave though.

PinkaColada · 27/06/2015 08:41

It's within the group I'm worried about unthought. Teachers have super strict codes about Facebook, but mainly I hate that the very small chance that one of the classic mumsnetter type mums will be on the group without me knowing but them knowing me. I know it's a little crazy!

I have a few asda tops but not quite big enough for those yet. I like them a lot though. I tried to order a skater dress off asos, but the didn't have my size. Dreading the supposed heatwave next week!

Unthoughtknown · 27/06/2015 08:50

Oh I see what you mean! I don't envy teachers in this era of social media, must be a pain. It doesn't announce new group members, so you could have a quick nose to see.

It's boiling here today but I want to wear my new jeans!

annatha · 27/06/2015 09:13

pinka when I was a teacher I changed my surname on Facebook so I wouldn't be searchable and my profile picture was my pets. That way I could find friends but nobody could find me unless they knew what they were looking for. I've got teacher friends who use middle names as surnames or miss letters out (eg. Smith becomes smth).

Laura7010 · 27/06/2015 10:04

gr33dyeggs, unfortunately I have hg or I would have been found head first in a bucket of chocolate! It's a dire shame that a pregnant woman cannot take full advantage of free chocolate, the sheer injustice of it! I did make it through the day with only being sick before we left so that I am classing as a success.
pinka you can set privacy settings so no one can see your profile unless you are friends and also you can join our group with no one knowing you have (apart from whoever sends you the invite to) have a look at who's on it and help put your mind at ease.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 27/06/2015 11:07

Welcome fairy!

Things are looking better here. My sickness has been gone for a little while now (since about week 20) so I hope I'm safe. DS slept through last night and is in general becoming a better sleeper, so I might get some sleep before I do it all again Grin. Now if I could only find a way of inventing some computer code to hide stupid Facebook statuses from friends wanting their babies out ridiculously early (I understand if they are over due, but one today was 35 weeks Hmm ) pregnancy life would be perfect!

Sleeplessinnorthlondon · 27/06/2015 13:18

Hello - was on earlier thread months back then fell off as had tricky time with antenatal anxiety and back now for good! Due with first, little boy, November 11th at UCLH and now have calmed down a bit just finding it all bit hard to believe this is happening! Getting first sort of kicks I THINK - sort of little pops, sound possible? Hope all well and looking forward to getting into this properly :)

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 27/06/2015 15:22

Sleepless great to hear from you! Glad you're still with us Smile Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 27/06/2015 16:41

Glad to hear things are getting better Sleepless and those sound like kicks to me!

So hot today - certainly beer garden weather, but bit rubbish for us!

Unthoughtknown · 27/06/2015 18:15

Sleepless, great to have you back I am also due in the middle of November.
