For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

What do braxton hicks feel like? I haven't had anything like that but would be interested to hear what to look out for!

austengirl · 23/06/2015 12:25

So pleased to hear your scans went well frescoed and Mademoiselle. Flyingsprocket we're trying to keep it to ourselves too, but I think when my family visits next month we'll share the news with them then, my mum is dying to know.

Anyone else feeling a major hormone surge this week? I'm still a bit all over the place from yesterday and wanting to eat eat eat (off to Sainsbury's for some crumpets Grin).

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 23/06/2015 12:31

It's fact that despite only being pregnant last year I can't remember much! But I think they were kind of like a tightening in the belly that got stronger as pregnancy went on. No idea how they compare to the real thing though as I'd had the emcs before labour started.
I read that everyone has them but not everyone can feel them?

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 23/06/2015 12:32

Meant to put "it's strange" not "it's fact"!

tootsroots · 23/06/2015 13:30

Ohhhhhh Confused i wondered what the tightening of my tummy was from time to tome.. it goes very tight and hard then releases the tight then well.. i feel things flops about a bit i thought it was baby movement!! Should i be monitoring this? Or Concerned (reaches for notebook with a list of all my other worries!)

austengirl I feel like all I do is cry! Hormone surge for sure. And also starving hungry constantly too haha. It's nice to know we aren't alone in this!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 23/06/2015 18:57

toots it's totally normal so nothing to worry about. Nearer the time it might be worth knowing the difference between BH and real contractions, but I think it's mainly that real ones don't stop or go away!

BlueBananas · 23/06/2015 20:32

Sorry to hear about all the fainting, I used to faint all the time in my last pregnancy but my iron, blood pressure & heart rate were always fine so I just had to grin and bear it, it was very odd! I've felt like I'm going a few times this time but getting something to eat usually helps

I've been getting Braxton Hicks already too - but only really after sex which is a bit gross because I kind of feel like baby is part of it then Envy boak!

I think I read earlier in in the thread a few people experiencing leg cramps - I've been getting lots of cramps in my legs/thighs and even toes recently! Is it anything to worry about (this is a new symptom on me!) and any advice to reduce it? It's awful! And again happens more after sex...hmm maybe I just need to not have sex ey Blush

MademoiselleG · 23/06/2015 21:10

Thank you for all the advice re: low lying placenta. He wasn't overly worried at all, so I won't worry until there is reason to do so. I shall however already tell dh that I cannot lift at all, anything, ever, due to this debilitating condition that I have! Hahaha.

I think I might have been getting BH actually! Gosh I really cannot remember a thing from last pregnancy, it's crazy. Pretty sure it didn't start this early?! 21 weeks tomorrow, uh oh...I am now on the 'other' side of 20 weeks, where you have less time to go than you have already done. EEEK!

Back to catch up on FB - seems we have lots of new members now, hurray!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 23/06/2015 21:30

I feel the same regarding time, it really is flying. This'll sound weird but because I had DS early, I felt like I was halfway a few weeks ago, although I know it doesn't work like that!

MissBananaMama · 23/06/2015 22:33

I'm new on FB too Mademoiselle Grin I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and have my scan... Can't wait

Dixiebell · 23/06/2015 22:37

Oops I just realised I posted under my other pseudonym about the anterior placenta/back to back likelihood. It was me Grin. I am on no.3 and also not sure what is a BH, but I do get times when my bump feels very tight, it just doesn't seem to come and go. But I will say when I had proper contractions start last time (first time was induced), it felt very different, more like internal pain than just a tight bump. So wasn't hard to know it was happening!

Unthoughtknown · 24/06/2015 08:00

Good luck to all today's scanees. Looking forward to more baby news!

I things are definately shifting in me, had a big meal last night (lots of bread) and I feel so uncomfortable today. Maybe this might be the end of my to date enormous appetite.

gennibugs · 24/06/2015 09:08

Good luck to today's scans! mines in Friday eek.

feel the size of a house today!

who do I need to pm to join the FB group? just realised I still haven't joined Smile

doomclaw · 24/06/2015 09:24

genni you can pm karmanna or tootsroots about the fb group. I have been mainly over there but on hols in the middle of nowhere and can access MN more than FB.

I think I felt movement yesterday for the first time. It was more like a flickering or flipping over rather than fluttering or bubbles. Was about to have lunch with DH and we were both excited and felt quite emotional. I just want to feel more now.

Good luck to all scanees today - this time next week I will be sat waiting nervously in the hospital for mine.

Frescoed · 24/06/2015 11:00

Thanks for the reassurance on large bellied babies Abbey Grin

Hope everyone who's been feeling crap or had scary things like fainting experiences us feeling better.

I had to go to London yesterday to sit in a very hot room all afternoon, and really struggled a bit - I think maybe I'm not really drinking enough water at the moment. On the whole, though, I feel pretty lucky - still at the gym several times a week and feeling ok.

No definite movements yet though, almost 20 weeks now - is that late?

tootsroots · 24/06/2015 11:32

So today... 21+5... baby kicked so much in bed at 7am.. that DH could feel it for the first time!!!!Amazing and scarily active. I have gone from nothing to big flops to this in a week!

Is anyone else feeling really down/low/angry? I know hormones are all over the place but I literally can't stop crying most of the time. I'm exhausted but can't sleep and most of the time I can't be bothered eating either which then makes me worried about baby. This morning I even told dp I was packing my bags and leaving because of a stupid argument. I am so excited for baby to be here I just don't know if it is worth it for what pregnancy is doing to my head.

Sorry I know there is nothing anyone can do I just need to say it to someone instead of pretending I'm coping Sad

Frescoed · 24/06/2015 12:34

Poor you duck that sounds really pants. I'll admit that I get a bit teary over DIY SOS at the minute (wtf) but I haven't done much anger yet.....

Other folks will have better advice and experience, but for what it's worth, I'm keen on exercise, scheduling fun things (we've been to the cinema lots recently) and enjoying the little things - most nights at the minute we take a wander down to the duck pond to have a look at the little ducklings. Also, I may have eaten my own body weight in mini magnums. I'm a simple person Smile

Don't pretend it's all fine though, it's crazy hormones and if you feel rubbish then you feel rubbish. Might be worth mentioning to your midwife, though others might know more about this.

Dixiebell · 24/06/2015 15:16

Poor you duck, it is possible to have antenatal depression you know, see www.pandasfoundation.org.uk/help-and-information/pre-ante-and-postnatal-illnesses/pre-antenatal-depression.html#.VYq7I1J4WJI

If you are crying all the time and it's been going on for a while then maybe you should mention to your midwife, or have a look at the help on this site.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 24/06/2015 15:26

Poor you that duck you just moved house to a new area as well didn't you? Which must be tough. I guess a certain amount of feeling that way is normal, I'm certainly quite pissed off for no reason some days, but if it carries on or feels too much, as others have said maybe mention it to the midwife?

mrswishywashy · 24/06/2015 15:37

Duck, I'd talk to your midwife or GP it could be totally normal but also could be some signs of antenatal depression. I've already flagged myself with the midwife as I've some markers so want to preempt any help. I am suffering from anxiety and do have flickers of anger and also crying quite a lot even though I usually don't cry. I've worked for quite a few mums with post natal depression and think it's far better to talk openly about it, so feel free to let loose here or if you want to PM then that's ok too.

Less than a week now until scan, roll on Monday morning. Pretty sure I feel frequent movements but am not going to be totally convinced until I see a baby on screen.

ehealy · 24/06/2015 16:04

Hi all, I too have found our Facebook page a little easier to use. We had a scan on Monday and it's a perfect girl. We were suspicious she was a girl. Ever since I have felt her kicking around! I am huge now!

TwoBeesInTheHive · 24/06/2015 17:41

Fainting ladies, keep a sugary drink like lucozade with you at all times when out and about. I have very low blood pressure that dips even lower in pregnancy and this is what I swear by!

Laura7010 · 24/06/2015 18:46

Urgh! I'm so shattered today I was worried about driving home from work. Trying to stay awake so I sleep better later but fat chance of that probably! Got a school trip to cadburys world on Friday, will I last the whole day?! They had to do a risk assessment on me so I could go, I am now fully risk assessed!
