Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My lmp gives me a date of 13th Jan. If I go off the weird bleed I had, it'd put me at 7th Feb, but early scan (and ovulation date) put me at 27th Jan! I assume they'll use the info from my early scan rather than any of the other dates. I actually took a colour coded calendar (with a key!) to the GP to show how weird my dates are. Loser alert.

We won't be finding out the sex. We didn't with DD although we were convinced she'd be a boy. We had boys names sorted and so poor DD was just 'baby' until she was four days old! Didn't help that the midwife referred to her as 'he' just after the birth... DP and I were like "oh, it's a boy?!" And she said "oh, I don't know- let me check..."

I bought loads of really pretty dresses for DD and reasoned that they weren't extravagant as a second child could use them. If it's a boy, he'd better look cute in them.

Phizpop · 02/06/2015 11:47

Ooo I'm glad I'm not the only one anti pink! I have never been a pink person, and hate the idea that everything for girls is every shade of pink! Will be buying as much unisex clothing and toys as possible when the time comes! We will be keeping the surprise.... Although tempted by being a to plan a little more!

mrsfazruns · 02/06/2015 12:03

Well what a lovely sonographer!!! She gave me scan and let me hear heartbeat and even flipped to 3D .... I'm measuring a little ahead at 9w ..... Must be taking after dad lol! Made me feel muh better!!

Blimeygirl · 02/06/2015 13:36

loveulotslikejellytots · 02/06/2015 13:38

Great news mrsfazuns!!

And wow ready, you must be so excited!! Do they know at this stage whether they are identical or non identical?

kep1979 · 02/06/2015 13:40

mrsfaz glad your scan went well

ready eeek indeed - twins, that is great!!

We will definitely find out the sex. I have two boys from my previous marriage, and I wasn't that bothered about finding out, but dh is adamant that he wants to know, and I am fine with that too. We will have to have a specific scan as our hospital won't tell you at the 20 weeks, they make you pay for a separate one. So we will go private and probably go at 16 weeks or so - which will also break up time between scans too.

I am assuming a boy, and "Bean" is always referred to as a he, unlike my last pregnancy when "Poppy" was definitely referred to as a girl. But I really have no idea or preference. I reckon people will assume I must want a girl as I have two boys already, but I love having boys and so am completely ambivalent. Dh would like a boy I think, but as long as it is healthy he really doesn't mind.

Have been wearing the seabands since Sunday and think they have taken the edge off. Had to buy a long sleeved cardy to wear at work as my shirt sleeves don't cover them up hardly stretch over my boobs either any more Also bought some new work trousers, have gone up from size 8 to 10 - haven't put any weight on but my waist has definitely thickened.

Have had successful food day so far too. Managed some toast this morning, and just had my much longed for cheese and tomato toastie - it was yum. Cheese and fresh tomatoes are definitely doing it for me at the moment!

Lilliana · 02/06/2015 13:41

Congratulations mrsfaz and ready. What a star your DH is Mrs!

We're not finding out the sex - didn't with DD either as we like the surprise. Honestly don't mind whether it's a boy or girl although thinking it will be cheaper to have a girl as we have loads of clothes!
I'm another anti pink. We were really lucky that we have been given loads of lovely hand me down clothes for DD from friends but sadly there is a lot of pink in there so she wears it as I can't justify buying more when it's auch good quality. Mil and sil bought the awful pink outfits - think 0-3 month baby vest with massive tutus - she never wore it as it would have been so uncomfortable but I dread to think how much they spent on them.

Oysterbabe · 02/06/2015 13:42

Congrats Ready!!!! Amazing news.
(They'll be non-identical as two eggs were implanted)

Lilliana · 02/06/2015 13:43

DD was named baby Zeus by my class (can you guess what our topic was that term!?) so I might wait and see what the kids come up with this time.

moonshine25 · 02/06/2015 13:46

Wow congrats ready, that's fab news!!

I keep having these flashes of panic that all is not well with my little bean - wish scans were earlier just to put my mind at rest! Ah well...frankfurters for lunch, yummy!

Juniper44 · 02/06/2015 13:57

I taught Year 3 when pregnant with DD, and the children kept giving me lists upon lists of what to name the baby. Mostly variations on their own names Hmm Got some very weird pictures drawn for me too!

FizzyPinkWine · 02/06/2015 13:57

Great news mrsfaz! Ready, amazing news!
We won't be finding out the sex, we didn't with our DS, we liked the surprise.
If we do have a girl, I'll def be anti pink! I think it's another boy though!

TeenieDeenie · 02/06/2015 13:58

Wow ready that's fantastic! Do twins run in your family? How did you and your OH take the news? Grin

Moonshine I do too, oh to go back to being completely naive about pregnancy!

crumble74 · 02/06/2015 14:10

Great news on the scans mrsfaz and ready!

Thanks for doing the stats Teenie!
I'm having my 12 week scan privately (Harmony) on 22/6 if you could update please?

We'll definitely be finding out too, we did last time and it really helped us prepare, logistically and emotionally. DH really wanted a girl but I wasn't set on a particular sex but then was really happy to be expecting a boy. He is such a happy sweet little boy I wouldn't mind having another one but would be very happy with a girl as I was one of a boy/girl combo with similar age gap and we were very close growing up. Win/win!

crumble74 · 02/06/2015 14:12

And yes fizzy I'm with you on the anti-pink! And woe betide if anyone gets her a babygro that says "Little princess" on it.

Readyforthefuture · 02/06/2015 14:12

Thank you everyone. We had iui treatment and knew there was a chance of twins because we had 2 follicles. We had prepared ourselves, but it's still a bit of a shock. We're still smiling, but lots to think about. not least that's there's a good chance they'll turn up in December!

Mrsfaz- congrats! Flowers
