I'm also trying not to care but secretly wishing for a boy. I'm sure I'll be delighted either way! DH wants to wait but I wanted to find out before, now I've realised that delaying knowing until birth means less opportunity for MIL to buy horrendous pink frilly/baby blue with tractors on clothes, I'm all for waiting!

Feeling a bit less sick this morning which is a godsend :)

Chatty I really don't know where you're looking! As for EDD, if you are 8+1 today then you either have LMP of 6 April or ovulation on 20 April (or both). Online EDD calculators will give 11 Jan.

Wow, that takes us up to 66 on the list Shock

Booking in appt today and don't know why but I'm nervous!!! I'm going to ask her if I can have an early scan because I'm SO BLOODY ANXIOUS!!!

On subject of sex .... If like a boy .... Even though I've got one but would love DH to have a boy to play rugby (1st DS is not his and is all grown up) ... But then I think a girl would be daddies princess x

goodnessgraciousgouda · 02/06/2015 08:03

mini - we are definitely finding out. DH wouldn't have minded either way, but I insisted. Not because I want to run out and buy loads of really tacky PINK or BLUE stuff, but because we only get three days to register the birth here, and I want to know for sure what name we are using in advance. And also because personally I think it would help me and DH to bond before their arrival.

As for preferences, I always assumed that I would have a strong preference for a girl, partly because I grew up with only sisters. But actually, I've been really surprised to discover that I genuinely don't care whether it's a boy or girl. Especially because it's the first.

In the future, my family has a genetically inherited medical condition which only passes to the second child, and only if it's a particular gender. So obviously for the second I would have a very strong preference.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 02/06/2015 08:05

SEX - ONLY IF IT'S A PARTICULAR SEX.

Oh my god, I hate it so hard when people say gender instead of sex - why have I just done it!!

Argh!!!!

mrsfazruns · 02/06/2015 08:25

Anyone else around 8 weeks feel their uterus .... Either I can feel mine or I've swallowed a ball x

Blimeygirl · 02/06/2015 08:26

We will be finding out the sex of this baby as we are both planners so hopefully means we can we a bit more ready. Well as much as you can ever be! I have no idea at the moment however all cravings are sweet food which the old wives tale says it's a girl. My dh has nicknamed it Keith but that's really for both of us at the moment. Keith Chegwin=cheggers=preggas! My friends have nicknamed it Elijah as we were going out for a meal and there was an extra place at the table which in Jewish culture (don't quote me if in wrong it came from a Jewish friend who told me!) you must leave for Elijah! Seeing as we had an extra person at the table sort of it is now Elijah!

Just agreed that we are telling extended family on the 13th as we have a big party all together and would be nice to tell them face to face especially my grandad as it is his first great grandchild! It's a bit earlier than we would have liked but would want their support if something nasty happens at the 12 week scan.

oneconfusedchick · 02/06/2015 08:45

Hi everyone! Out of interest anyone who has had their booking in appointment... How were you dated? My LMP was 19th April which makes me 6+1 on that, however as I wa hVing blood tests I know I ovulated late. I've also had irregular periods since DS1 ranging from 33-51 days in length. I am just curious to know if the midwife takes this into account!? My last babybl they used LMP only, however I had nothing else to go on as we got pregnant after first month coming off pill so didn't have a clue what my 'normal cycle length' was!

loveulotslikejellytots · 02/06/2015 09:01

I don't want to find out the sex, but DH does. After discussing names the other night I think we need to find out, just so I can cross of 50% of the rubbish he's been suggesting? He has also suggested Keith (Lemon) did a boy Hmm.

One - I'm not sure. First day of my lmp was 29th March, which puts me at 9+2 but I have 35 day cycles so that puts me a week behind. I've put my dates on my referral form, the midwife might change that when I see her but for now I'm going with 8+2, at least if it gets changed I jump a week forwards!!

Readyforthefuture · 02/06/2015 09:01

I will be finding out, I love planning so I'm not sure I could handle not knowing. DH really wants a girl, his mother wants a boy (there are no grandsons, and he is surrounded by sisters). Personally I'll be happy either way, off to my scan in a min so we'll soon know how many - if both eggs took we may have one of each! Grin

TeenieDeenie · 02/06/2015 09:05

Morning all!

We are definitely finding out the sex. I always thought I would want a boy as I wouldn't know what to do with a girl (always been a bit of a tomboy) but now I really have no preference, just looking for a healthy little bundle with 10 fingers and 10 toes Smile.

I'm a bit OCD of a planner and like things to be organised so will do the nursery, buy what we need, etc before our little one arrives. I couldn't cope with work going on in the house with a newborn around.

Right off to do the stats, will post them in a bit...

loveulotslikejellytots · 02/06/2015 09:10

I think DH would like a boy, but I helpfully reminded him that a daughter might one day captain the Arsenal ladies team, he was quite happy with that!

I don't really have a preference. I'd like a daughter in some ways, I have a lovely relationship with my Nan's and mum, we spend a lot of time together. On the other hand I grew up with 2 brothers and I love the thought of one day having my own little boys. I'd take anything to be honest, I'm just so happy! Grin

Blimeygirl · 02/06/2015 09:14

Oneconfused the midwives originally have me the 31st of December or the 1st of January and said I could choose my edd! But I then told them that my cycles were always 31 days so they asked me what I thought my edd would be and I said the third or fourth of jan so they just put that!

TeenieDeenie · 02/06/2015 09:18

New stats 67 of us now Shock

As always just let me know if any changes or you'd like to add to your stats. Smile

mrschatty you are definitely on here at number 26. If viewing from a computer try refreshing the page just in case it is showing you a cached version.

loveulotslikejellytots · 02/06/2015 09:30

Thanks teenie Thanks

moonshine25 · 02/06/2015 09:30

Thanks so much Teenie for updating all that - wow there's so many of us!!! How exciting!

I'd quite like to know the sex of the baby too, not that it matters at all but I think I'd like to know as my bump grows if that makes sense! Although in the hospital we'll be using I'm not sure we can find out so I guess we'll have to wait!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 02/06/2015 09:35

confused - it's probably easiest if you just say that you have very irregular cycles and you're not sure when you're last period was. That way they will probably date you from a couple of scans. You could specifically request to have a scan at 8 weeks or so in order to date the pregnancy.

FizzyPinkWine · 02/06/2015 09:44

Thanks for the stats teenie.
Can you update mine with 1 dc and booking appt 19th June, dating scan 30th June and my EDD has changed to 8th jan.
Thanks!

brickiemum2 · 02/06/2015 09:51

teenie next time you do a stats update you could put in my 12 week scan on the 8th July Grin I'll actually be 13 weeks though (hopefully)

Blimeygirl · 02/06/2015 09:55

Hey Teenie my scan on the 26th of June is my 12 week scan not my early scan but thank you for doing them!

EdgarAllenPoe · 02/06/2015 09:57

Good news - I ate a big bowl of spinach! I found it much easier to stomach than other veg because it came straight out of my garden, so having washed it I knew it was 'safe'. Spinach and vinaigrette - my favourite (I'm half French, I don't do malt vinegar!).

I'm not finding out the sex. Hubby and I agree there are precious few surprises in this life that are good either way, so we're waiting. Plus I'm a bit anti-pink. If we had a girl who decided she loved pink for herself, well fair enough, but as the only girl with three brothers I hated when people automatically showered me in pink. I've started knitting a baby blanket, and it's all yellows, creams and greens for now.

TeenieDeenie · 02/06/2015 10:01

No probs ladies, all updated!

Oysterbabe · 02/06/2015 10:05

Another tomboy here. There will be a ban on baby pink if I have a girl and she'll be taken to the football with her dad same as if we have a boy.

mrsfazruns · 02/06/2015 10:07

So annoyed ..... Booked my booking in appointment 3 weeks ago for today and called the medical centre this morning to confirm the time .... To be told they had "lost" the booking!! I've been concentrating on splitting time down to pass the time and reduce anxiety after miscarriage and this has just made me break into a sobbing mess!! I know it's stupid but just wanted some reassurance and to ask stupid questions like"is it ok that my boobs don't hurt" officially PISSED OFF

TeenieDeenie · 02/06/2015 10:23

Ah mrsfaz know exactly what you mean about splitting the time down to make it pass a bit quicker, I'm doing exactly the same with scans and appointments. Is there no way they can take you later that day or similar? Have they gave you another date?

mrsfazruns · 02/06/2015 10:26

teeniedeenie I called the midwife direct who have kindly agreed to see me at the birthing centre on Friday .... They were lovely!! DH had also just come upstairs and told me to stop crying and get dressed cause he's booked a scan at 1130 .... He's an angel sometimes!! X however he might have cheered me up but the practice manager at the medical centre will be getting a strong worded phone call later!! Can't believe how little support there is available for women going through or gone through miscarriages ..... Its so bloody lonely x
