Sorry to hear that leanne but remember things can change very quickly, baby could well be here before Sunday.

I finally had a good sweep I'm 2-3 cm dilated baby is engaged again and all seems favourable so fx this one does the trick she said it was an arm aching sweep so I am praying she may have started something!

longestlurkerever · 04/06/2015 13:26

Good news Chook but sorry you're fed up Leanne. Still waiting here as baby's heart rate is quite high so they want Dr' s opinion before giving me the pessary. They reckon I have quite a bit of uterine activity though so fx it will work when I have it.

Chookford · 04/06/2015 13:37

longest good luck I hope you have some news soon!!

KittyVonCatsington · 04/06/2015 16:32

Great news Chook!!

longest hope not long now!!

leanne you are doing so well my lovely - you will get your bundle of joy v soon xx

Chookford · 04/06/2015 19:15

Sure this is a ridiculous question but those ladies who have been induced I do take my hospital bag with me in the morning don't I? Confused

leanne963 · 04/06/2015 19:20

chook I am going to take it but keep it in the car. I am going in for the outpatient induction so will be sent home after the pessary is inserted, but that may change if by some magical reason i am dilated. Good luck :D Are you nervous at all? I feel slightly nervous about being induced i don't know why!

Longest Hope you are doing well!!! Any news?

Chookford · 04/06/2015 19:24

leanne that's what I thought too! Ok I will do that! I'm starting to get a little anxious, not so much about the induction itself I just want to have this baby before Saturday... I know it may not be possible but I'm really hoping it will be quite a quick one for me! Sure we will both be fine! Smile

longestlurkerever · 04/06/2015 20:01

I have to be an inpatient because of gd so have my mahoosive bag here but I would say yes to taking it unless someone can easily drop it off for you. Good luck!

Not much happening here. Some back ache but nothing I haven't had before. Have been out in the sunshine all afternoon though - trying to get some last minute name inspiration from highgate cemetery! Have missed hospital tea so dh has gone on a kebab run. He is allowed to stay as long as he likes but will probably go home to bed if nothing is happening.

Spoke to dd who was a bit teary but fx ok really. Bit worried that I could end up here for days though. Consultant said "only" 25% of second time Labour inductions end in sections but that feels quite high to me, esp if I have already been here attempsing induction for ages. Come on baby!

longestlurkerever · 05/06/2015 01:06

Contractions definitely happening! Guess she will.be here at some point today!

Chookford · 05/06/2015 06:39

Great news longest will keep everything crossed she is here nice and quickly!

longestlurkerever · 05/06/2015 08:47

She is here! Baby Beth, 7lb 13 oz. Sje is perfect. Was quite a rush in the end but induction was no worse than my last labour and not particularly medical. In fact I had no pain relief (not entirely by choice) and only 20 mins of monitoring. Bit annoying to be on officious ward now instead of lovely relaxed birth centre but hopefully will be home tomorrow.

piglet81 · 05/06/2015 09:15

Congratulations! And well done you for getting through it without pain relief - I'm in awe! Hope you're doing well.

leanne963 · 05/06/2015 09:35

Awwww well done Helen longest Congratulations :) you are my induction idol, doubt I will be able to do it without pain relief! Can't wait to see a picture of her x

minimooo · 05/06/2015 09:50

Thanks ladies will let you know how we go, first lot of pessaries in now being monitored then can go for a walk and things!

longest massive congrats on the birth of Beth, lovely news...so how long was your induction In the end?

longestlurkerever · 05/06/2015 11:27

Good luck chook! Pessaries went in at 2:30pm. Cervix at that point high and closed but monitor showed uterine activity. 7:30 trace showed I was contracting but I couldn't feel it. By 10:00 I could feel them but was able to get a couple of hours' sleep. Woken at 12:30 for more monitoring to reasonably strong contractions and she was born at 3am, 2 quick pushes after a mad dash to delivery suite (5 mins after mw told me I couldn't possibly be very far along and should try going back to sleep). Apparently I looked "too comfy". Didn't feel it!

Chookford · 05/06/2015 11:39

Wow that was pretty quick once things started, so you only had one dose? hope I have the same luck! Congrats once again... Enjoy your snuggles
