Those still waiting-I was induced and it was not that clinical. Had a pessary at 4 and wandered around the hospital grounds with DP till 8 when he was told he had to leave. Had 2nd pessary at 11. In that time I watched telly! They had the options of a bath and a ball etc which I didn't use. Only time I was hooked up to a machine was half an hour either side of the pessaries being inserted. Only took two and he was out!

Leanne I was a bit like that on Sunday morning, irregular cramps, and had felt all weekend that something was changing and then was listening to my hypnobirthinf cd on sunday night and the cramps woke me up, although were still quite mild.

I laid there and timed them for just over an hour ans then my waters started to trickle and then full blown labour.

chook birth story on the post natal thread. Rooting for you! My friend had a sweep the week before last and it turned out that the baby was actually breech. 48 hours later her waters still broke. She had a c section but for a sweep that couldn't really be done it still did something. Hopr that all made sense, heads all fluffy.

scottish that's good to hear, I think I am just worried as hospitals make me a little anxious do I didn't wanna be stuck on a drip! :)

Emelia's good, can't believe me and DH made her :) seems to be feeding well.

Thank you everyone. And for the positive induction stories. Still waiting here. 2 proper contractions at 2am but nothing since. Another sweep at lunchtime then induction tomorrow. Nervous.

Thanks chook but sweep was similar story to yours as cervix seems to have got higher and she couldn't do it. Induction it is. Just hope it works quickly.

No word from leanne today? Might she be having her baby? Exciting.

Oh sorry to hear that longest it leaves you feeling deflated doesn't it! Hope your induction is a nice quick one and you have your bubba in your arms after a couple of hours, are you going in early morning?

Ooooh leanne hope that is the case and we have some baby news very soon hopefully by sat we will have all had our babies!

Heya chook and longest nope no baby haha just trying to keep myself busy! Had some browny discharge this morning but hospital said to just keep an eye on it! How are you both doing?

DP has sprained his ankle and cant walk on it, so chances are I will go into labour tonight haha!!

Aw leanne you had us hoping. Poor dh. Hope sod's law is invoked in your favour though. Just repacking my hospital bag now it feels more real! Mostly adding more snacks and books for the boring bit waiting for things to kick off.

Ahh leanne we thought you may have baby news... Sounds like things are happening for you though shouldn't be too much longer!

I'm just making last minute checks like longest sweep is in morning then got to be in hospital for 8am Friday so just arranged childcare for my dd after school tomorrow and Friday all seems to be getting real now!

Hope all goes well tomorrow longest or that you start off naturally before then. Same to you Chook. Will be keeping everything crossed.

leanne I have midwife at 12.30 for final attempt at sweep then just going to recheck my hospital bag for the morning... Still no def twinges or anything so I'm resigned to the fact induction will be happening! How are you? Anything?

I am here! Have my own room for now and it's nice and new and shiny. Also very quiet. Feel like the only person here. So pleased so far but just waiting for midwife. Good luck both of you!

chook Midwife will do a sweep for me today too then book in the induction, if i am 14 days over on Sunday they shouldn't let me reach that point should they!? Hope the sweep works for you and you go into natural labour tonight :D

leanne my midwife told me my trust doesn't let women go over the 12 days hence my induction in the morning but I don't know if that varies depending on what trust your under... But they should be booking you in today I would have thought it not for tomorrow then Saturday but I may be wrong! Thanks.... hope you have some baby news for us soon too!

leanne I would ask them to book a date now.w my midwife booked mine last week for Monday as she said that otherwise if left late would struggle to get a date... which wouldn't be fair on you. Hope the sweep gets everything moving for you.

Eurgh fed up. No real change on my cervix since last Thursday not dilated, not fully effaced. Booked me in for Sunday when I will be 14 days over, then she said they will likely just give me a pessary and send me home if my cervix is still the way it is now :( so really no set date, kinda fed up now.

Really sorry leanne, I assumed induction would mean that they would keep you in. Sending hugs and really hope things change in the next few days xx

Me too apple ha! She even said if i ring up Sunday lunchtime and the hospital is busy they wont even do it that day! arghhh who knew having a baby would be so much hard work haha Hope you and Emilia are doing well today :D
