Roll up roll up, come and join me clutching your BFP and wondering exactly what you've let yourself in for x

Hello everyone, congratulations on your BFPs!
Can I join in please. I got a really faint line on a test this morning, but a lines a line right? Really really want to be pregnant but terrified as well at the moment, had MCs before and already feel like I have cramps. But trying to remain calm. I have an amazing DS just 1 so am so lucky already, am 37.
Wishing everyone smooth pregnancies x

Hopit it is completely understandable that you are worried after a mc, but cramps at this stage are completely normal. Just try to think of them as the placenta growing and implanting.

Wishing you all the best hopit (and all).

Can I ask how your dp's have been? Mine has been desperate for a baby for ages, he was happy when I told him about the BFP but then just seemed to carry on as if nothing has happened and doesn't even mention it unless I do! Men, eh?!

Hope this is the right place to ask a question like this, I'm new to this so apologies if it was bad timing or anything.

Thanks for the welcomes and thanks Goulash, the rational part of my brain knows you are right.
Tea my DH was over the moon when I told him but you wouldn't know now, for them not much has changed, for us everything changes. Yes, as sparkles says they don't seem to really get it until they can feel movement.

Hi everyone
Have had three faint bfps this week on different brands. Period is due tomorrow but I don't feel like it's going to arrive. Will hopefully confirm tomorrow on a first response.
Expected due date will be 1st Feb! This is baby number 3 for me.
Fingers crossed I get a nice strong pink line tomorrow and then can let it all sink in.
Looking forward to reading all your stories now.

Welcome Tossed!
I have a first response lined up ready for the morning too. Good luck, but if you've had three faint BFPs already it will be a nice fat pink line for you, congratulations!!

Thanks a million. I haven't even bought the test yet as all local shops seem to be sold out of first response. So have to go to a big boots store to get one. Will update when I find out. Just a bit nervous as my previous pregnancies always had stronger lines so can't relax until i see one.
Good luck to you too for tomorrow!

Hi all

sparkles (gives a huge two handed wave back) good to see you on 'the other side'!

tea ah glad I have a fellow newb! We can be clueless together!

My dh was completely freaked out to be honest. Obviously he knew we were trying so knew it might happen but he thought he would have a bit longer to get his head around it! But he has always been one of those blokes who has said 'I don't think I will ever feel ready for babies, I will just get me head round it when it happens'. He seems super scared and keeps saying 'but I don't know what I am doing!' Sure he will calm down a bIt as the pregnancy progresses. I am also trying not to go on about it too much to freak him out more but its so hard as I am so excited. Last night he even gave me a two minute limit to talk about it!!

Hi everyone,

Tentatively joining, I've done 4 tests since Thursday and all say positive but still don't quite believe it! I'm not sure when my last period was, but based on possible conception dates my due date is 31st Jan/1st Feb.

This will be my second, I'm still breastfeeding my first who's 22 months (who still feeds as much as a newborn sometimes!)

Congrats raff, hop, and just! And to anyone I have missed! Looking forward to finding out how everyone is getting on. Apart from being tired and lots of cramping, nothing else has really changed for me. Hope everyone is having a nice day.

I think the bloat is starting...

Where abouts are you guys (understand if you don't want to say)? I'm in the South East.

Anyone got any nice plans for the bank hol weekend?

Report
firsttimenewbie · 24/05/2015 13:30

I am in London. We had a nice day out yesterday but the rest of the weekend will be spent doing boring house hold stuff (trying to do our house up atm).

I also feel really bloated and I swear my belly can't ALL be post holiday flab (prob is!). Also feeling absolutely shattered. My boobs are really sore atm and also have grown huge already! (the only thing my OH is excited about :-p !)

NoMontagues · 24/05/2015 13:37

Hi to everyone joining and congrats!

Yes to the bloat, I've been practically living in a pair of high waisted skinnies I got a few months after DS was born, they're already super uncomfortable and I had to open the zip last night Blush

Leggings here I come!

Fucoffee · 24/05/2015 14:31

Congratulations for all the new BFPs Flowers

Feeling quite bloated already although that could be due to last night's curry so I've no idea how I'm going to keep it quiet until after 12 weeks.

Sparkles I was still breastfeeding DS1 when I was pregnant with DS2 and ended up tandem feeding for a year. I know it's hard not to worry, but it'll be fine - just make sure you're eating well to keep your strength up as it can be tiring.
