GoulashSoup · 29/05/2015 17:33

Welcome donut. Congratulations on your bfp!

Hope everyone has had a good Friday. The sun has finally appeared here in Cambridge. On the train home too jelly. My colleague suggested I went home early as I have been less than useless today. Nearly broke a really expensive piece of equipment in someone else's lab. So happy it is the weekend!

rallytog1 · 29/05/2015 19:02

Is anyone else feeling really crampy? I feel like the first day of my period (that horrible heavy feeling) and am starting to feel worried :(

jellypi3 · 29/05/2015 19:09

rally i've been crampy pretty much since getting my BFP. Some days are worse than others, from what people have said it's your uterus stretching (does it from even this early stage). Only worry if the pain becomes sever or there is a lot fo blood accompanying it.

MemphisBella · 29/05/2015 19:17

Hello!

Can I join please? I've namechanged in case family/friends knew my old name on here and were keeping tracks on my TTCing.

Got a BFP this morning on no less than 3 separate tests, I'm very excited and a little nervous. Think my EDD is 5th Feb.

I've got a DD who's only 9 months; it's nice to see others with wee babies too!

I'm looking forward to settling in with you all for the ride. Grin

Raffertys · 29/05/2015 19:19

I was like that too earlier today rally. It's so hard not to worry isn't it. I think I'm just trying to accept that most of the time it's wind or it's just the result of all the magic stuff that's going on down there at the moment.

I caved and peed on a stick again. Got my 3+ Grin No more sticks now.

jellypi3 · 29/05/2015 19:35

Welcome bella'congrats :)

raff yay for 3+!!

Pogmella · 29/05/2015 21:22

Hi! Had my BFP(s) this week and apparently due our first around the 8th of Feb Smile

I've also got lots of cramping and had some light spotting, but BFPs getting stronger every day.

So far only other symptoms are gas and headaches- the miracle of life, hey...

Hows everyone else feeling? Also diet coke- yay or nay?

Vroomer33 · 29/05/2015 21:30

Hi ladies
Can I join? My edd is January 31. I'm (almost) 31 and have been ttc for 6 months. This is my first pregnancy. It's great having somewhere to chat about it.
Symptoms wise not too bad. Sore boobs and massive bloating. Trousers feel tight but surely it's too early!
Trying not to stress or worry and enjoy it all! Second trimester feels a long way away though

jellypi3 · 29/05/2015 21:48

Welcome pog and vroomer :) congrats on your bfp's!

pog I've been drinking diet coke but not masses of it due to the caffeine.

twinsandapenguin · 29/05/2015 21:56

Welcome newbies and congratulations Smile
Rally- I am the same, I was the same first time around too. Almost like period pain but not quite. It is rubbish
I am largely avoiding diet coke and artificial sweeteners, not completely but I just don't want to have it all the time.
I am expecting a hatred of coffee and green vegetables to be with me shortly. They would each make me boak last time!

twinsandapenguin · 29/05/2015 21:57

Vroomer - it is not to early for the bloat! Welcome to the club. Stretchy skirts are your friend Smile

And 6 dcs!! Wowzers, superwoman!

teaandcake2016 · 29/05/2015 22:04

Lovey to see some new ladies on here, welcome and congrats to everyone who has joined recently. So nice to have somewhere to chat. I've got a bit carried with looking for freebies and have signed up to every baby site under the sun- so far I've got nothing apart from a cuddly cow!

rallytog1 · 29/05/2015 22:17

Glad it's not just me twins and Raffertys.

Talking of going off coffee, I nearly outed myself to my dm this morning when I took a sip of coffee and nearly spat it straight out because it tasted so disgusting. I told her to taste it because I was sure something was wrong with it, but apparently it just tasted like normal coffee Blush I think she's on to me but we don't want to tell until 8 weeks or so. It's also very annoying because I didn't go off coffee at all last time round.

Welcome to all the new folk. This is a lovely thread full of lovely people.

rallytog1 · 29/05/2015 22:17

... and jelly - didn't mean to miss you out!

pretzelpieces · 29/05/2015 22:34

Helloo, mind if I join? BFP yesterday and been feeling sick for a week already! And mildly crampy.

I'm 31 and this is DC1. EDD is 1st Feb 2016. Grin waves at jelly

tossedsalads · 29/05/2015 22:40

Welcome to all the newbies!
So many of us now... We will have to start signing off our posts with the weeks and days or due dates to keep track of everyone!

Drunkendonut · 29/05/2015 23:17

Thanks for the welcome.
Just finished work and am seriously bloated and windy!
Luckily I work in a lab and can blame the faecal samples Wink
This is my 8th pregnancy so I suppose I should know a little bit by now!
Crampiness has always been constant throughout the first trimester for me. Along with a heavy feeling down in that area too.
rally I'm fine with coffee so far but I remember in one of my pregnancies doing exactly what you described, it so clearly tasted vile. Never had that with any of my others.
Raff it's really sad that my baby is starting school. And probably the reason I'm now having another one! I only have 11 months between my two youngest daughters and it's been chaos but amazing. Now they're both at school and my eldest 2 are at uni/ heading off soon I think I had a bit of a midlife crisis :) :)

Raffertys · 30/05/2015 05:35

Welcome all newbies Grin This thread is so busy and friendly. I love it.

In other news, I appear to have woken up with what feels like a broken big to Hmm It was fine when I went to bed. I can't move it, bend it or put any weight on it. Wtf? I guess I've just slept awkwardly on it ( didn't know it was possible to sleep awkwardly on a toe...) and it will sort itself out soon, but OWWWWWWW Envy

Anyone got plans for the weekend?

Vroomer33 · 30/05/2015 06:29

Maybe you've dislocated it? I used to do that sometimes in my sleep. Really weird!
This weekend I'm getting ready for my holiday that coming up in two weeks. Will probably be my last big holiday for a while

jellypi3 · 30/05/2015 07:43

Hey pretz :D

raff I'll try to do a google doc so we can all add our stats on there maybe?

rallytog1 · 30/05/2015 07:46

Is it a weird sort of cramp Raffertys? I get it in my toes sometimes and it feels like I've broken them but it does go away. Hope it gets better and doesn't spoil your weekend.

So I was silly and poas this morning. Got 2-3, even though I'm 5+1 so should really be 3+ by now. Trying not to worry too much - they can be a little bit inaccurate, right?

purdiepie · 30/05/2015 08:09

Thank you for the warm welcomes.

Cheesy, I haven't read your back story but it's easy to feel precious about an IVF pregnancy. When I was pregnant with Nancy I came upon a thread here on MN where they were discussing the ethics behind donor egg IVF. I have never felt quite so murderous in my entire life. I wanted to reach through the computer screen, grab those sanctimonious bitches by the throat and waterboard the ignorant fuckwits. But...the worst enemy we have when going through IVF - and then becoming pregnant - is ourselves: If we are ashamed or unsteady with our choice to undertake IVF, the moronic comments will sting every time. I shout my IVF miracle from the rooftops and praise God for exceptional embryologists and generous donors.

jellypi3 · 30/05/2015 08:12

rally they are notorious for being inaccurate so please don't worry hun

jellypi3 · 30/05/2015 08:15

I think IVF is a scientific miracle. The fact that enables couples who are struggling to have a baby reach that goal is just fantastic. We honestly thought it would be the route we would need to take because it took us so long to conceive and I think i'd feel the same if anyone said that about an IVF baby!

jellypi3 · 30/05/2015 08:28

Hi all, i've made a google docs we can update with all our stats :)
