November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Can some clever person with a computer on copy the stats list over here? Thank you!!!

Blueblink · 21/05/2015 09:40

Ohhh hello new thread!
I'm now starting my well earned 5day weekend! Off to meet a friend to play with her 17 month old then to pack for a nice long weekend down by the coast. We are telling DP's grandparents this weekend (his parents have both passed away so they are the "in-laws") feeling nervous they'll be upset we aren't married! Not sure why I've made up this in my head, they aren't religious or anything! And will be over the moon to get a great grandchild I'm sure! My pregnancy brain over thinks everything!!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 21/05/2015 09:48

Hope all goes well Snozzberry

ehealy depends where you are in the country but where I was in London it was nearly 400 Shock so I didn't bother. I think they have some free places if someone isn't working etc. I hear mixed things as a lot depends on the teacher and who's in the class. I guess it's nice if you can afford it but if not don't worry you'll meet mums anyway. Worth checking the sure start centre as mine has a free pregnancy club once a week which looks very similar to nct but free!

How are those with other DCs managing? I'm feeling like a shit mum. No energy and struggling to get up in the night, so tired

PooSweats84 · 21/05/2015 11:00

Ooh crying who did you go to see?! I've been wanting to go see Take That with DD as we went to their last tour, but wasn't sure I should go what with being pregnant, big crowds and possible squishing have had me doubting if I should, how did you find it?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 21/05/2015 11:10

Abbey I'm struggling a it with dd too. My work days are so much easier but mum says are exhausting. I just want to curl up and stick her in front of CBeebies all day.

BowiesJumper · 21/05/2015 11:27

Hey all! Thanks for the notes comments, I'll give my midwives a ring to see if I should have mine or not! My sister (a midwife at a different hospital) said they hand them out at her place by now too. I wish I could just get my sis to do all my check ups!

Good luck today Snozz!

gennibugs · 21/05/2015 11:31

Good luck for your scan snozzberry

I was seriously not feeling work this morning, I woke with a headache and I am hugely painfully bloated. I dragged myself in but hoping I can keep a low profile and sneak off early.

I think we are going to do NCT. They are massively popular in our area. none of my friends have children and I don't know many people in our local area either. They are expensive though!

Oddicombe37 · 21/05/2015 11:45

ehealy yes, you have to pay for NCT.

I can't decide what to do about antenatal classes this time, as it's going to have been 8 years since I last had a baby and I can't remember anything about it, but I'm not sure I can be bothered with all that again!

Oddicombe37 · 21/05/2015 11:47

I've been pretty snappy with my 2 for the past 8 weeks. I've told the older one now so he at least knows why I am tired and have no patience, but the younger one is too young to understand if anything goes wrong, and as I'm high risk, I don't want to tell him anything and then have to let him down.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 21/05/2015 11:50

Glad it's not just me in a way that's struggling. I think I just feel under pressure now to get DS sleeping etc before October. Then I feel guilty because he's only little and shouldn't have to grow up too fast. Ah well, worst case scenario we'll get a bigger bed!

Oddicombe37 · 21/05/2015 11:59

I think when the next one comes along you just do what you have to do to stay sane. For us, that was my husband sleeping in the spare bed with ds1, while I has ds2 in with me.

What's the age gap, Abbey?

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 21/05/2015 12:06

It'll be 13 months hopefully, so I know it'll be tough. I keep telling myself that people have multiples and manage, and my friend has 7 kids due to getting married and combining families with her DH and they manage. So hopefully I'll be ok with 2. Or if I'm not ok I can write sleep deprived gibberish on here at 4am at least Grin
He's actually been asleep all morning today so if they both do that it'll be fine. They won't though will they!

CishAndFips · 21/05/2015 12:14

just place marking.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 21/05/2015 13:17

Gosh Crying, I am impressed with your energy! We went for drinks and a curry last night for a friend's birthday, which was lovely but we didn't even eat until gone 10pm - I am dead on my feet today!

Focusfocus · 21/05/2015 13:30

Hello all!

Just had my 16 week antenatal appointment with my midwife, all went lovely.

And then, she took out a Doppler and said with a twinkle "want to listen to baby?"

And she turned the speakers on and whoaaaa THUMP THUMP THUMP and she spent a lot of time explaining what was blood, what was organs moving about and my heart and I admit there's a lot going on, but there was no mistaking the regular, rhythmic thump thump thump. Measured at 146.

It was lovely. I haven't got my notes back either but they've said they don't come back till 24 weeks.

cupcakesam84 · 21/05/2015 13:39

Gennibugs, I'm in similar position, none of my friends have babies (apart from 1 but her ds is 13) & I dont know anyone else who's pregnant so I was thinking of classes to meet other mum to be's! I didn't realise they were so expensive though, I've not been given any info about them yet by mw!

cupcakesam84 · 21/05/2015 13:40

Awww focus that's lovely!!! Xx

mrsscarlettbutler · 21/05/2015 14:08

Ahh Focus how lovely. I have my 16 week appointment later this afternoon but I don't think they even try to hear the heartbeat at this stage. I can understand why, but would still be nice!

Abbey I may have mentioned this in a previous thread, but I have a friend who has twins. They will be one later this month. Earlier this month she had a baby... so 11 months between them. (Baby #3 was a bit of a surprise!!)

After her initial panic I think she's actually fine with it - the twins are still little enough that she's not worrying about them running off etc and the baby has just sort of slotted in amongst everything. Eventually they will probably feel more like triplets I imagine, and the twins will never remember a time without #3. I think for her she just thinks after twins, one will be a piece of cake! I'm sure there will be hard times for her, and I'm sure the same applies to you, but ultimately I bet your DCs will have a lovely bond being so close together, and there will be lots of benefits as well!

Dixiebell · 21/05/2015 14:11

I just noticed I have a big blob of jam stuck to my tummy, on the underside, the bit I can't see from above because of my bump. It must have been there since breakfast, and I've dropped the kids off at nursery and chatted to other mums with it hanging off the bottom of my belly. Oh good.

TakesTwoToTango · 21/05/2015 14:21

Ha ha Dixie. I'm sorry, but that had given me a good chuckle! Grin

cryingbabymess · 21/05/2015 14:24

Poosweats I saw S Club 7! Was soooo good! No chance was I missing it! I found it alright, as it's DC1 I'm cooking I was a bit concerned with all the dancing but it probably joined in! Lol.

PooSweats84 · 21/05/2015 15:36

I've just come back from seeing the nurse at the doctors surgery and there's a trace of ketones in my urine. She said I could just be eating too little, I had a massive sausage baguette for lunch about 2 hours ago, how am I not eating enough?!

cryingbabymess · 21/05/2015 15:45

ehealy last time my hospital did tours of the maternity ward for free, I just had to ring up on the morning to make sure it wasn't too busy.

Those who are consultant led, what happens at a consultant appointment? I was consultant led last time but the only time I met a consultant was after a growth scan at 38 weeks. She pulled us out of the scan room, gave me a sweep and pressured me into induction at 40 + 4 (dd turned up at 40+2!) but aside from that I'd just see a midwife after each scan who would repeat what my usual midwife was doing.

KnitFastDieWarm · 21/05/2015 16:04

Hello can I join? 14 weeks tomorrow, baby #1, EDD 20/11

Waves to heir Grin hello TTC thread buddy!

I've been MIA with horrendous sickness, time off work, and many scans, freak outs, etc for the last 12 weeks but now I have ENERGY! It's amazing! My nails are strong, my hair is shiny, I am actually enjoying pregnancy for the first time Smile

(and I have a healthy squishy little bean bumbling around in there...still can't quite believe it)

Is anyone else considering NOT doing NCT? I really want to meet other parents but a) it's so expensive and b) I'm worried it might be a bit middle-class-whale-music-and-aromatherapy for me. The idea of pools, massage and the like makes me feel panicky - I hate baths and I can't bear people touching me when I'm in pain. I do however have no problem whatsoever with the idea of strong drugs Grin Would it be a waste of time for me do you think?
