November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Gorgeous day lemon my midwife offered to listen to the heartbeat at the 16 week apt, it was lovely! Not all of them listen at this stage, I hope you get to hear it x

mrsscarlettbutler · 11/06/2015 10:15

So sorry for your loss heir, that's very sad. Lovely idea to use her name if you have a girl.

Rough I'm going to a wedding tomorrow - the second of 4 we have until mid July. I went onto ASOS a little while ago and ordered a selection of their dressy maternity dresses - sent most of them back but kept 2 to alternate between at all the weddings. Even though I'm not really showing that much yet, it is nice to have something with a bit of 'give' in it to wear, and hopefully both of them will look good as the bump grows.
I reckon a skirt/top combo is completley acceptable though - the main thing at this point is to be comfortable!

Busy weekend ahead for me - wedding tomorrow, then up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to fly to Spain for a hen do. Booked pre pregnancy, and so expensive I can't really back out of it, plus I am sure I'll have a lovely time, but the thought of it is making me want to stay in bed from this evening until Monday.

Means the next few days will go really quickly though, and then scan on Tuesday.

BowiesJumper · 11/06/2015 11:42

Sorry to hear that heir, take care of yourself. I still have a little cry about my Gran now and she died over 10 years ago, it's tough. It's lovely that you'll be using her name if it's a girl, we're using my Gran's as a middle name if we have a girl.

Focusfocus · 11/06/2015 11:51

So sorry for this heir. My grandmother was the wallpaper and anchor of my life. So I know how special these people are.

Sorry all, not been I. Touch, I have bad bad bad SPD and am coordinating work projects, sleepless nights, midnight baths, new mattresses, beds, pillows, acupuncture, yoga, physiotherapy - nothing works.

Sitting and toying things is an ordeal so am keeping that to a minimum I.e. University essay marking. Great news about earliest of our scans! Mine is on sunday and will try to update. I do read and listen to you all, but really struggling with this bitch SPD and dare not moan too much to people without knowing their individual circumstances ref fertility etc

Cheers toots and Austen! V.reassuring, was half worried about it being a uti or something like that. Must get more work maternity appropriate stuff ASAP.

Super jealous of the spa day Austen! I have a voucher for a massage, just strategically planning when to have it!

Wedding now would be worst clothing scenario possible, so I feel your pain rough! All being well I will attend weddings at around 27 and 28 weeks. I'm optimistic that the bump will look bump like by then. Perhaps it will make the rest of me look skinny in comparison!? Grin

tootsroots · 11/06/2015 12:50

I have about 6 weddings so have two dresses and lots of shawl options!

I am actually bridesmaid.. at 8 months!! ( and organizing the hen at 7.5 months but sooooo excited about it!)

stace1986 · 11/06/2015 15:56

Had my 16 week appt today and I got to hear the heartbeat. I recorded it for DP and I think that based on heartbeat sound and shape of head at 12 week scan I am having a boy! 3 weeks till we find out.

Toots I am a bridesmaid at the end of August in France! Going to leave getting my dress for as long as possible!

mrsscarlettbutler · 11/06/2015 15:59

I just had a 'meeting' with my boss over the whole debacle with my job/maternity cover. Was awful. She was very defensive and did apologise while all the time making it clear that she thought I was being difficult, oversensitive and unreasonable. Obviously ended up in floods of tears, and now can't stop. Sat at my desk trying to hold it together but it's like a tap has been turned on Blush bloody hormones.

annatha · 11/06/2015 16:01

I asked my midwife about hearing the heartbeat and she said she didn't have a doppler Hmm I'm 17 weeks with my second baby and still haven't felt anything. Trying not to get too worried as I didn't feel anything until after 20 weeks with my first but still, would've been nice to hear the heartbeat for a bit of reassurance.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 11/06/2015 16:51

That's rubbish mrsscarlett the thing is you could in theory let them know at 25 weeks and go at 29, so you've done them a favour letting them know early. Nothing unreasonable about wantin to announce your own news

SnozzberryPie · 11/06/2015 17:15

So sorry for your loss heir. I already had a cry that my grandmother (who died a couple of years ago) won't get to meet this baby.

Rough a top and dress will be fine. I think things which are cut under the boobs (is that called empire line?) Are most flattering at the mo as they make me look like I have a proper bump instead of just flabby!

LadyStark · 11/06/2015 18:14

I'm also a bridesmaid in height of summer in Spain and have a fab dress that I bought from Seraphine (grey maxi) that is very roomy and hopefully cool!

I found a dress on eBay that I loved too, a navy maxi dress, paid a little more than I wanted to for it (it's only ASOS) and it arrived and is too small for my boobs Hmm most disappointing as will have to sell on.

Sorry for your loss heir my grandmother was unwell when I had my DD and she has her middle name. We were lucky and they did get to meet a few times before she passed away.

I've not enjoyed commuting in the heat today and my hay fever has been terrible. In better news, in two weeks I should have a kitchen again! It's been a LONG three months.

We also got given three big black bags of baby clothes, a crib, a bouncer, a playmat, swaddles, gro bags and possibly a car seat from a family friend. So much stuff that I think once I have the buggy I will be pretty much done!!

Gr33dyeggs · 11/06/2015 18:39

We're going to an evening wedding reception in a month - so far a normal maxi dress fits - I don't really want to buy anything else. I'm more worried about what to wear for work if summer stays this hot - I'm sure my feet have swollen already - and my last pregnancy I didn't really need summer stuff so have mainly jeans and trousers. I'm currently in the garden with some shorts on nowhere near fastened Blush

gennibugs · 11/06/2015 20:38

heir so sorry for your loss. Choosing her name is a lovely idea Thanks

missscarlett I'm sorry your boss was so insensitive Thanks it's still so early really for them to be having these conversations with you!

I think a long skirt and top sound fine. We have a couple of weddings coming up and had one a few weeks ago so I bought a dress of asos. It didn't look quite right so ended up wearing a dress I already had from zara (loosish) and it was fine. I think the asos one will be fine once I've expanded a little more. I plan to wear the same dress to both weddings too - I'd rather spend my maternity budget on workwear and everyday wear rather than something I'll just in all likelihood wear twice Grin

roughtyping · 11/06/2015 21:24

Ah skirt and top better be bloody fine. It was roasting hot today, which was lovely but just underlined to me how much weight I've put back on. Don't know what I'm going to wear when DS and I go to Spain - maxi skirts and leggings I imagine. Feeling like a right lump! Will go and have a nosy on ASOS - still need to get something for the two weddings where DH is a best man!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 11/06/2015 21:34

I think that outfit sounds lovely.

I've got out all my maternity gear now. Most of it is pretty worky and I'm not at work, so I need a few more bits. I'd forgotten how crap it all is! Why can I not buy a t shirt that's not a plain colour or stripey? It's ok, it's just boring. And I look daft in stripey until about month 7 as my bump isn't that big to show off really.

I also need some over the bump joggers or trousers for hospital. My legs were really swollen last time and I couldn't get into my maternity jeans Blush luckily it was warm and I could wear a dress, but bare legged with a dress isn't going to work in October / November is it? So I just need something loose, and over bump for scar purposes

HeirToTheIronThrone · 11/06/2015 23:21

Thank you all for your good wishes. My little brother and I are at my mum's house and still sad but we are together and will be fine.

I am a bridesmaid next month and have a gorgeous blue dress from asos maternity, they have some lovely things.

I got told today that I am 'enormous' for how far along I am which has done wonders for my confidence, obviously...

annatha · 11/06/2015 23:24

I'm living in over the bump leggings at the minute. I'm much bigger than I was last time at 17 weeks so I ended up buying loads of maternity jeans but its far too hot for them now. Hoping to get some nice dresses, I hated all my t-shirts last time as they all ended up too short by the end. I'm pretty sure I turned up to give birth in joggers and a nightie (it was 6pm Blush) cos nothing else fitted!

SnozzberryPie · 12/06/2015 08:49

Heir is it older people who are saying that? The reason being that my mum told me that when she was pregnant, being big (and having a big baby)was seen as a good thing.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 12/06/2015 09:15

I'm still small and the baby is measuring slightly small (but OK by my dates) but in the normal range. Hoping they aren't tiny, DS was measuring ahead by 2 weeks and was small.
My mum always tells me she was massive. I think difference is she is very short and I'm tall though!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 12/06/2015 18:01

It is actually Snozberry - two colleagues who are both around 50. I do have quite a big bump for 17 weeks in fairness!

ShortLashes · 12/06/2015 19:35

Hi everyone. Had my 20 week scan today. Baby was a right wriggler which is funny as I can't feel anything yet! All seems ok. I don't really have much of a bump, but have definitely put on a few kilos! Had the most excruciating leg cramp 2 days ago and can still feel the muscle aching. Hopefully a one-off....
Miss Scarlett I'm sorry you have such an unreasonable boss Sad

BowiesJumper · 12/06/2015 19:40

I'm super tired today. Not looking forward to when it's hot hot and we're all bloomin massive in august and stuff.

SnozzberryPie · 12/06/2015 21:15

Heir in that case I think they are probably just trying to be nice, admittedly in an annoying way!

Unthoughtknown · 13/06/2015 12:45

How's everyone feeling today? I'm 18+1 today and keep feeling little twitches, but no full blown movement yet. Only 12 days until scan!
