Congrats fatty! I bet she's lovely! I've just had a show and have slight backache, I do take ages in latent phase so hoping this is something starting xxx

TheJunctionBaby · 19/06/2015 14:57

Congratulations Fatty hope you and baby are well and that when you're up to it, we can see a pic of your little girl x

Butler4 · 19/06/2015 15:14

Hi muddy, hiccups freak me out at times too. I get them a few times a day and my bump does really big jumps eveytime. I just try and stay calm cos they pass after 5 minutes or so. I spoke with midwife and she said all normal and not to panic.

smallgreenbanana · 19/06/2015 15:18

LO probably has hiccups about twice a day too. Completely normal if that helps. I tend to think of it as quite funny and reassuring that her diaphragm is practicing breathing movements, if that helps at all, muddy.

MuddyWellyNelly · 19/06/2015 15:27

I'm not freaked out for the LO though, I'm freaked out for myself Blush. I'm not normally a squeamish person but there is something about them that makes me want to try to run away from them. Which could be interesting!

Small, thanks I will try to think of them as medically useful and see if that helps. I realise I'm being weird! There is a chance I'm projecting other worries too also ridiculous ones

Thanks for reassurances. :)

Oh Loopy that sounds exciting!

smallgreenbanana · 19/06/2015 16:20

Oh ladies, the general public has reached a new low... Shop assistant asked me "is it twins" (despite the fact that other complete strangers have helpfully informed me the bump is "neat"). Two seconds later, stepped out of the shop, whereupon a charming young man shouted at me for having a "beer belly". Lovely! Hmm

Number3cometome · 19/06/2015 16:31

When I was pregnant with DD, I walked past a pub where some blokes were standing outside. One shouted "can we have our football back please luv"

Hmm
smallgreenbanana · 19/06/2015 16:34

number3 Oh dear! I thought everyone was supposed to be nice to pg ladies (if slightly intrusive) not shout rude things at them. I am corrected. Shock

SparklyPenguin · 19/06/2015 16:44

Wow congrats Fatty, can't wait to hear more about your little girl!
I've officially finished work (woohoo) as of an hour ago, such a relief- hope your last days went well too, Lala and Lucky. And hang on in there ladies still working, I sympathise massively as the last fortnight at work has been physically excruciating. Now to enjoy the weekend with good friends (and hopefully a ton of ice cream...) Smile

smallgreenbanana · 19/06/2015 16:46

muddy I don't think you're being weird. These things take people in different ways. I was reading someone's blog where they described how they liked it when the baby kicked when they were feeling anxious as it gave her the impression that the baby was trying to reassure her she was "still there and ok". Whereas I have been interpreting kicks when I'm feeling anxious as the baby also feeling anxious and distressed, and then feeling bad I am upsetting my baby! Same situation, completely different interpretation!

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 19/06/2015 18:04

Congratulations fatty!!

jmojo · 19/06/2015 18:29

Oh joy i feel your pain, I have carpel tunnel too! Some nights are ok others my hands feel so sore! Looking forward to resuming normal function there.

fatty congrats. Looking forward to hearing how things went! Grin

ohlordyplordy · 19/06/2015 18:30

Congratulations Fatty x

charlieis30 · 19/06/2015 19:05

Congrats fatty how exciting!

Had growth scan today and baby is measuring bang on what she should be at 5lbs. Feeling very reassured! Re the hiccups, I personally love them, I always wonder if it was something I ate! She has them all the time, at least a couple of times a day. Scan also confirmed definitely a girl which was lovely. Can't wait to meet her, not long now Grin

captaincloud · 19/06/2015 19:34

Hi all, dropped off the thread a bit as been feeling so tired and rubbish but feeling a bit better now and it’s good to catch up. Hope you are all as well as poss and not too hot.. With the heat and being 38+3 I'm all hot and puffy so I've been sticking my feet in a washing up bowl full of water this afternoon and it's glorious!

Congratulations Fattycow!

MuddyWellyNelly I’m getting the same thing with the hiccups, she gets them roughly once a day and they make me feel as if I’m really nervous about something and a bit sick.

Fattycow · 19/06/2015 20:08

She has the biggest most beautiful eyes ever and daddy's very blond hair. I am totally smitten with her.

Congratulations fatty Smile
Can't wait to meet my little girl...37+6 today

LostSoulsForever · 19/06/2015 20:52

Congratulations Fatty! I hope you are feeling well given the miracle your body has performed :)

Congratulations as well to those who have joined the ranks of mat leave! Hopefully not much longer to go for those who haven't quite got there yet...

I spent my first solo day on mat leave cleaning the house from top to bottom having been neglecting it somewhat over the last few months. I feel happier for doing it but think I will be paying for it tonight - already aching & SPD is always at its worst when I turn over in bed through the night.

Bag is packed & bed mats in place so am ready when she is! Although still got another 5 days to go before I am at 37 weeks. I am getting some weird feelings/cramps etc but trying to remind myself it could be another 6 weeks before she arrives!

Anyway, enough of my waffling. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

EnglishExpatUSA · 19/06/2015 21:16

Hi all,

I fell off thread quite a while back due to moving house twice in 3 months, etc etc. but just wanted to update that our beautiful little girl arrived on the 17th June, at exactly 37 weeks (she is very punctual!) My waters broke and I was induced, rode the contractions up until 6cm dilated, had an epidural and then a little sleep and when the doctor checked me 30 mins later she could see her head... I laughed and her head started to come out! 2 gentle pushes later and she was here! It was absolutely wonderful! So being induced can still lead to an amazing birth. I am absolutely besotted and can't stop looking at her.

Congratulations to all the other new mamas! And everyone on their upcoming bundles :-)

Sherbet38 · 19/06/2015 21:21
