Oh arete, I have the same issue with my legs - I also have restless legs and feet that are starting to itch until I slather them with moisturiser so I'm getting fed up!! Sleepless nights due to newborn will be a delight compared to sleepness nights due to RLS and cramps.

smallgreenbanana · 14/06/2015 10:47

arete and broody I started on some liquid iron and iron tablets a few days ago and was surprised to find restless legs much improved last night. Maybe it was anaemia all along for me as my iron levels only dipped below the 105 cut off in the last few weeks and this coincided with the onset of the pesky 8pm RLS attack.

Waiting for the community midwife to arrive for home birth visit... They love short notice! It's good DH will be here though to ask his questions.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend Smile

broodylicious · 14/06/2015 10:56

Glad that's working for you small - I remember mentioning iron levels as a possible cause when you said you'd got RLS the other weekSmile I think mine was particularly bad last night because I'd had chocolate cake and Pepsi at my nephews birthday party.

Stinkylinky · 14/06/2015 13:21

I've started having back pain and cramping, could this be the start of labour?

smallgreenbanana · 14/06/2015 14:10

stinky Could be, or could be a practice? Good luck! Smile

smallgreenbanana · 14/06/2015 14:16

broody yes I took your advice to heart and glad I did now! Midwife says level is not too low to rule out home birth so that's a relief Smile

Aretepetite · 14/06/2015 15:36

I think my cramps are a result from either being on my feet too long walking and still trying to do things like I always have and/or poor circulation and/or some sort of deficiency Hmm
Whatever it is, I'll be glad when it rights itself. It is really painful in my calfs usually about 4-5am .... The joys, yeah, give me baby anytime over all these 'minor' pg ailments.
I have just pulled a muscle hoovering for good measure (ouch)

I'll say to mw about Iron small though I do not want to risk upsetting the bottom !!

Keep is posted stinky.

I hope everyone is doing okay!

Shower wasn't as bad as expected, got some lovely gifts and some next vouchers that people have said they're happy for me to use on me.

Day has been overshadowed abit for me tho as little man isn't as active as I would like. Put it down to it being loud but I've been home half an hour in positions that usually make him move n only had one or 2 flutters. OH is at work n not sure when he'll finish. Baby always responds to his dad so that's my last test. If nothing I'll call. (Ooo just had a kick)

broodylicious · 14/06/2015 21:04

Glad you had a good baby shower charlie. Hope lo perks up a bit. If it's any comfort, my littlie had a quiet day the other day - moved but not loads or as violently as normal - then kept me awake all night with gymnastics!

Charliej86 · 14/06/2015 21:28

He's perked up since that post so I'm feeling better. Bit of a headache coming on now. Looking forward to bed. I meant to put cake pic on last post.

Awesome cake!

Stinkylinky · 15/06/2015 07:38

That cake is brilliant!

Cramps and pains eased off yesterday until about half 3 this morning when I had the worst diarrhea (sorry for TMI) so feeling pretty crap now. I'm meeting my friend for lunch and a pedicure today so hoping everything hangs fire!

smallgreenbanana · 15/06/2015 08:06

Amazing cake!!

stinky How many weeks are you?

Stinkylinky · 15/06/2015 08:11

I'm 36+6 but they think I could actually be a week ahead

Charliej86 · 15/06/2015 08:15

Had a good reaction from baby to dad tho not as strong as usual it was enough to keep us happy but he's been very quiet thru nite and this morning. Ringing hospital after school run, don't want to worry the kids.

Clstow · 15/06/2015 08:33

Hope all is ok Charliej - amazing cake by the way!

Did everyone have a fab weekend? OH and I went to NCT for the first time, it was actually a lot better than I thought it would be and we met some lovely people so hopefully will get some local baby friends out of it Smile

Also found the midwife-led unit at our local hospital has been shut for a month now coz there's not enough staff so it looks like it'll be labour ward for me... Am still considering a late transfer elsewhere though as was quite keen on the MLU.

smallgreenbanana · 15/06/2015 09:11

stinky Does sound like your body is making some preparations. Hope you have a lovely day Smile

charlie Hope you get some reassurance.

Luckystar82 · 15/06/2015 09:37

Aretepetite same here, legs cramps every night - you have my sympathies!

Good luck stinky keep us posted!

charlie my baby often doesn't move for ages. Have to really wake her to move. She must be lazy like her mum (I like my sleep!)

Jealous of everyone on mat leave - I've still got a week to go.

36 weeks and off to the birthing centre today for my 36w MW appointment plus a tour of the facilities. Very excited/nervous to find out baby's position.

Does anyone have any suggestions of questions to ask MW at 36w?

Number3cometome · 15/06/2015 10:22

35+1 here, had some monitoring as baby is quiet. Off to work shortly, 4 weeks left at work! Can't wait.

broodylicious · 15/06/2015 10:47

Omg. V uncomfortable here right now. Pressure on my bits, baby pushing out on one side, tightenings too. Feeling sick. 35 weeks exactly today. Would love to think this is the start of something but very probably wishful thinking....

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/06/2015 10:51

Thanks for everybody having a tough time. I have the usual nausea, exhaustion and some stomach pains but otherwise ok. I am starting 3 weeks annual leave today followed by mat leave. I am having 4 days to recover before taking dd out of childcare except for 2 days a week. Think she might be harder than work!

Hope everything is ok stinky, number and Charlie.

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/06/2015 10:52

There were supposed to be flowers there!

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/06/2015 10:53

Cross post Broody, hope you are ok too, you never know! I had alot of stomach aches yesterday but I think they were just bh. You have done it before though so you might have a better idea how it is supposed to feel.

Naturegirl82 · 15/06/2015 11:21

I think I'm the only one at the moment really hoping baby stays put till next week at least! Still no hospital bag, or baby clothes, or anywhere for baby to sleep! Shock
