I'm the same Nature haven't got any of that ready and am going to a wedding over 4 hours away over the weekend so baby really needs to stay put.

Fattycow · 15/06/2015 11:29

nature and giraffe, thankfully the babies themselves don't really need much. As long as they are warm and comfy, they are happy. Smile

True Fatty but without a bed or clothes these needs might not be met. It's all good though, should be sorted in the next week or so.

smallgreenbanana · 15/06/2015 12:20

nature and giraffe me too, I've just bought a maternity dress to see me through the next few weeks so I want a chance to wear it Grin Bit silly really but I've got to wear something as everything is a bit small now. Also we've only got one nappy - the one given free in a pack at week 34 appt. Shock

Charliej86 · 15/06/2015 13:09

Been through to assessment unit been on monitor around 45mins. Took a long time to wake him up but got there and she was happy for us to go home. Told us to call n go straight thru if same happens. Also had some blurred vision and headache this morning so have to watch that. Bp and urine was fine.

Monitor picked up some tightening but I couldn't feel them so no concerns there.

Luckystar82 · 15/06/2015 13:10

I'm also hoping baby stays put till at least next week, as I have lots of work to finish and haven't packed my hospital bag yet or washed baby stuff I've been given.

~Just back from 36 week appointment. MLU is beautiful, quite excited about going there now. They have air con which I'm very relieved about (hate hot hospitals!).

Baby's head is fully engaged, she is lying in correct position and everything is well. MW commented on how my bump had dropped. Feel so relieved.

Naturegirl82 · 15/06/2015 14:12

fatty very true they don't need much but they definitely need more than I have organised at the moment! Also the car seat needs a clean so we wouldn't even be able to bring the baby home from hospital! My boobs are ready to go though so no need to worry about feeding Grin

Number3cometome · 15/06/2015 14:59

Nah you aren't the only one, I want mine to stay firmly put until my csection date of the 14th July and I have my heart stupidly set on that date!!

All ok here, baby decided to wake up after a while on the monitor so I'm not back with them again until Monday.

Number3cometome · 15/06/2015 15:00

Naturegirl82 my boobs are defo ready to go, milk is leaking haha!

Fattycow · 15/06/2015 15:06

I had leaking milk the other day!

OP posts:
fattymcfatfat · 15/06/2015 15:15

I leak from about 25 week's onwards! have done with all three. my DD squeezed some out the other Day. she is going through the obsession with body parts and grabbed my boob shouting boobies Blush luckily I had breast pads on! she also keeps trying to stick her head between my legs when I go to the toilet. Hmm I have told her I DO NOT want a babies head there just yet, bump still needs to cook a bit more.

Number3cometome · 15/06/2015 15:18

It's certainly made me change my mind about feeding.

I EBF my last two for 10 months, but wasn't going to this time.

I am defo going to try now, although not for so long.

Stinkylinky · 15/06/2015 15:40

Thanks everyone, had a lovely afternoon with my friend. Everything seems to have calmed down, other than full back ache and cramps, I wonder what tonight will bring!?

Fattycow · 15/06/2015 16:00

stinky, yay for a lovely afternoon. I keep wondering when I'll have my little one, but when I look at the family history, I think I'll go way overdue!

Stinkylinky · 15/06/2015 16:06

Ahh I hope Lo doesn't keep you waiting too long Fatty! How many weeks are you now?

Has anyone else heard of nipple stimulation to bring on labour? The midwife who did my antenatal workshop was saying that it's scientifically proven to work... I've never heard of this before

Number3cometome · 15/06/2015 16:07

Stinkylinky

Yep I've heard of it, but apparently you have to do a LOT of it.

Not sure my nipples could handle it !

Stinkylinky · 15/06/2015 16:09

I did a quick google search and it said an hour at a time, 3 times a day... My nipples hurt just thinking about it Blush

Number3cometome · 15/06/2015 16:10

Ah HOUR?! Fuck that.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 15/06/2015 16:10

Stinky is is scientifically proven to work... If you do it for 4 hours a day!

jmojo · 15/06/2015 16:44

It is more like hand expressing than rubbing at your nipples soley.

You want sperm as that has prostaglandins in it (on your cx not your boobs!!) Wink Prostaglandins stimulate the cx to ripen and soften. (They are in prostin gel given to you for iol)
You want nipple stimulation for the oxytocin it releases as this stimulates contractions. (Orgasm does this too).
Curry/spicy food, castor oil etc, stimulate your bowel to contract and be irritable, and ad this lies close to your uterusit can cause your uterus to be irritated and tighten too.

Walking pushes the babies head down on the cx and stimulates contractions too if you are niggling.

broodylicious · 15/06/2015 17:27

But best plan is to leave baby where they are until he or she is ready to come!! (Grumpy, sleep deprived second timer here, sorry!!)

Sherbet38 · 15/06/2015 20:04

Hi everyone, I'm feeling your pain this of you that are uncomfortable. I have lots of pelvic pain, it hurts to walk Sad Plus aching ribs and no sleep are making me feel quite sorry for myself. Four (or possibly 6 Sad) weeks more of this feels like a lifetime! I'll be term next Saturday, so anytime after that baby is very welcome to arrive Smile... even though I'd miss my last week at work Wink

Butler4 · 15/06/2015 20:36

37+3 here and the opposite to most of you as I need this baby to stay put until 39+5 when it's dad gets home from work. I'll be doing none of the things that may encourage early labour! Grin

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 15/06/2015 20:43

Having just found out we've had extremely close exposure to chicken pox at the weekend I'm now hoping this baby stays put until 40+7 to allow DD to get it and get over it before the baby comes Sad

Supershiv1 · 15/06/2015 20:49

light green how's it going????
