I lost 5 stone before so I'm hoping baby bump fills the skin I have! Ive been using mum & me bump cream but think it makes me smell like a flapjack... Must have oats in it!

gingerbreadmam · 22/05/2015 13:36

i should have lost weight beforehand but never got round to it. already have stretchmarks from yo yo dieting over the years but noticed what looks like a huge one coming up the side of bump.

had been using palmers bump cream and stretch mark cream but held off for a couple of days incase ive suddenly become alergic to it.

batfish · 22/05/2015 14:05

Hope your rash is nothing ginger and doc can give you something to relieve it.

I'm worried about stretch marks as have them on hips and thighs and everything says that cream has little effect (still using it just in case) and it is hereditary - and my mum has dreadful ones on her stomach Sad

Cineraria · 22/05/2015 14:18

I don't have much faith in stretch mark stuff either Batfish but DH wanted to get some for me and I had read that sometimes when products like this are tested, they find there is a slight advantage in having massaged the area, whether or not it's with a special product, so I let him get me the Weleda oil which smells and feels lovely and comes with instructions on how to massage the relevant areas too. I don't seem to have any marks yet but there's still four months to go!

Good luck at the GP this afternoon, Ginger.

gingerbreadmam · 22/05/2015 14:26

its worth a try. good luck and hope it works.

im sure a new baby will be worth every mark we get haha!

thank you. i think its an allergy but with me not using anything knew just seems strange its come on all of a sudden. been researching just incase tho. stepawayfrom google

Hi I have been lurking for a while, wanted to join the bus after the dating scan (10+6wks) said my EDD was 30 Oct, but was told baby had echogenic bowel (bowel appears as bright as bone on the scan) at the NT scan at 12+4 wks. I have never heard of the condition before and nearly broke down at the clinic after googling it could be a soft marker for Downs or cystic fibrosis or other genetic issues Sad. The Consultant explained it could also because the baby has swallowed some blood but I never had any bleeding that I knew of. During the next few weeks I had TORCH test which ruled out infection, cystic fibrosis screening which showed neither me or DH was the carrier, and the combined test said Downs risk was low at 1:15,000. Today at 17wks I had the fetal specialist scan which showed the bowel was less bright than before, and no abnormalities. The consultant said she wouldn't worry about the bowel as all the results to date seemed ok. I don't think I will relax until after the 20 wk scan in 3 weeks time but did feel a big weight has been lifted. Hopefully it's not too late to join the bus! Smile

Ladypug · 22/05/2015 20:50

Hey Rabbit,

You poor thing! It's never too late to join the bus! Glad to see things look more ok now and hope these 3 weeks fly by :-) xx

gingerbreadmam · 22/05/2015 20:53

glad things are looking a bit better rabbit and welcome to the bus!

Cineraria · 22/05/2015 21:38

Welcome, Rabbit! glad to hear that after such a scary time, your test results and recent scan showed things in a more positive light. Hope things go well for the twenty week scan and the rest of the pregnancy.

gaggiagirl · 23/05/2015 10:04

Welcome rabbit and Eleanor!
Pm me if you want to join the fb group.

Thank you lady, ginger, cineraria and gaggiagirl!

Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend! I am trying to recover from a cold and cough which has been bothering me for the last two weeks, only had a brief window of feeling slightly normal after the morning sickness and fatigue eased off after around 12 wks, not been able to take medicine made it tougher to beat anything!

Rabbit15 · 23/05/2015 12:14

cineraria I use Weleda stretch mark oil too, it's light and smells nice. They say it is in your your genes whether you will get it but I will do what I can to avoid it!

SparklesandBubbles · 23/05/2015 23:57

Welcome Rabbit, you can join the end of the October bang bus along with me and Fabuluce. I'm due 31st and just got to 17 weeks! Hope everything's ok at the 20wk scan.

I've been using Neal's yard mother's balm and so far no stretch marks but only time will tell!!

SparklesandBubbles · 23/05/2015 23:58

Not sure why the bang bit turned up in that previous message!!

hearthattack · 24/05/2015 15:54

Hello everyone. I'm so pleased to have found Oct Fred take 4! I'm due on the 17th October and have my 20 week scan a week on Tuesday.

It's only just starting to feel real for me tbh. Everyone else tells me I have a big bump but sometimes I think I must be kidding myself. Not felt any certain movements yet, just a couple of grumblings which may or may not have been baby or wind! We've just relocated cross country and are about to move house again so there's been a lot of other stuff to do as well as bond with our bean. I'm sure the scan will help. Anyone else feeling a slightly delayed response like that?

A friend bought me some palmer's tummy butter but I've been really lazy about using it. Sure I'll live to regret that when my tum looks like a road map!

Fabuluce · 24/05/2015 16:04

Welcome to the end of the month gang Rabbit! Sounds like you've had a tough time of it so far, I hope you're able to take a step back and relax and enjoy your pregnancy soon. It's very handy being on the bus as everyone experiences all their symptoms before us so it's made me feel more confident that my body is doing the right thing Smile

Welcome Heart - good grief, two house moves?? Why???

Fabuluce · 24/05/2015 16:06

Ps I've had terrible wind )the joys of constipation so I haven't a clue about movement - I'll probably have to have a hand showing through my skin before I believe it's not an internal equivalent of a fart!!

hearthattack · 24/05/2015 16:21

Thanks Fabulunce.

We had this bright idea that we'd move to the countryside before having sprogletts, then I went and got upduffed a month before we were due to leave. I'm a genius. We've just found somewhere to rent so we can get out of MILs and under our own roof. Fun times!

Raising a sharing hand to wind. My DP has christened me Slow Puncture!

Ladypug · 24/05/2015 19:52

Hey all,

I was meaning to ask about movement. Still haven't felt flutters or popping but am getting regular rumbling. Could this be movement? X

Rabbit15 · 24/05/2015 20:13

Thanks sparkles and fab it's great that our EDD is so close as feel that I am massively behind most people on the bus (no obvious bump, not sensed movement, not had the 20 wks scan etc) but like you said we know what to expect from other's experiences.

Welcome heart good luck with the house move!

Fabuluce · 24/05/2015 22:04

Oh yea don't worry, I feel totally behind everyone else! I have a lump rather than a bump thus far and so still just look fat rather than nicely pregnant. Frustrating! Very much looking forward to joining in with bump photos!

gingerbreadmam · 25/05/2015 08:42

ladypug i would say my movements feel like a hamster running around in one of those balls. sounds really silly but it does feel like something spinning around.

its always more noticeable on a night. it kind of also feels like if u put ur finger in ur mouth and rubbed it on the inside of yours cheek.

i am sick of peoples faces dropping when i tell them im due in october Shock im huge. saw 2 people yesterday who hadnt known i was pregnant but obv did as soon as they saw me. tbh im quite glad really jus makes me panic what ill be like as time goes on Grin

SparklesandBubbles · 25/05/2015 09:17

Ginger, I feel quite big already too and I'm only 17wks! I've had a definite bump for a couple of weeks now. I think everyone carries their babies differently. I wouldn't worry about it. The midwife said my bump was quite normal size so I'm going with that!

batfish · 25/05/2015 09:38

Welcome new people!

I think I have felt movements but not totally sure - certainly nothing along the lines of being able to see baby move from the outside like some others on the Facebook group are reporting - feels like little twitches or flicks but not particularly regular or very strong - and I was 21 weeks yesterday.

Superexcited · 25/05/2015 10:59

I'm getting lots of movement, mainly at night or when I have been sitting down for a while. I assume baby is rocked to sleep by my movements when I am moving around during the day. It is hard to describe what it feels like and the movements vary as sometimes they are the odd prodding type feeling and other times it feels like somersaults (I am 19+5).
My bump is quite big and very noticeable, but this is baby number 3 for me. I didn't have a proper bump until around 6 months with my first two pregnancies but then I got big very very quickly and got lots of stretch marks as a result so I like the fact that I seem to be growing earlier this time and therefore (hopefully) growing more gradually, giving my skin a chance to adjust gradually,
