When is your c section booked for Soontobe? Are you going to be a September mummy or an October mummy?

SoontobeMommyof2 · 17/09/2015 16:20

I'm going to be an October Mommy.. really can't wait to have the little man here now.

Section is booked for 19th.. and my DD is 23rd so really close.. my last one they booked at just short of 38 weeks.

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 21/09/2015 07:26

Is Anybody else starting to feel really anxious now?
I spent all last night awake and going through things in my mind and making mental 'to do lists'. I can't believe it is only 3 weeks to go. I think it has really hit me now as DH put the cot in our bedroom yesterday which makes it all seem very real. It's not even my first baby but there is such a big age gap (12 years) that it feels like my first and everything seems very unfamiliar.
Eeekk, I can't believe that I will have a little baby in the cot in a few short weeks!

Ladypug · 23/09/2015 21:49

Hi ladies,

Been off for a while due to house move! Now back and have lots to do - namely pack hospital bag, buy pretty much everything etc. Nervous now as it's getting closer, I'm not prepared, living in a new place, still working and terrified about the birth! Eeeek! How is everyone else?

hearthattack · 24/09/2015 15:45

loobrush, I think I'm on the same page. Got our crib set up in our room and also due in 3 weeks. I'm not too anxious about the birth bit, more the actually having a baby to look after at the end of it all bit! Despite having my bad packed and all the baby gear we need, I somehow feel woefully underprepared.

I'm also feeling generally pants. Tired, massive, achey bump and pelvis, fed up with not being able to do anything...

What a ray of sunshine! :-) Just inpatient I guess. I want my little boy safely where I can see him, and to be able to do my own shoes up.

shieldbug · 28/09/2015 20:42

Hello October ladies! Don't know if any of you remember me (I had a mmc in Feb and left the thread) but wanted to pop in and wish you all the best and safe deliveries. Although I was gutted when I mc, I'm now 17 weeks and due in March 2016 and all seems to be ok this time round.
Good luck to you all!

AnnaBegins · 28/09/2015 21:07

Yay shield so happy for you, thanks for the update on the Feb thread too Smile

I am now 40+1 and nothing yet Sad fed up!

AnnaBegins · 28/09/2015 21:07

Sorry I meant FB thread bloody autocorrect

Ladypug · 30/09/2015 16:36

Hey Shield! Congrats :-) I can't believe it's October tomorrow and it's finally happening for us all!

SoontobeMommyof2 · 01/10/2015 16:02

All on the countdown now :) 18 days and counting woo hoo

hearthattack · 01/10/2015 16:20

Soooo exciting!

Anyone else had their flu jab? I had mine today. I've never had one before and don't usually get flu but my midwife was pretty keen.

Ladypug · 01/10/2015 20:53

Got my flu jab upcoming, dreading it! Don't do needles!

hearthattack · 01/10/2015 22:23

It was a breeze compared to the whopping cough one (ouch!) so if you've had that, nothing to worry about. I do feel a bit grotty now though. I'm sure it won't last long.

I turned the page of the calendar over to October this morning and noticed how blank it looks. I'm resisting the temptation to scrawl 'some massive life-changing sh*t kicking off at some point but no idea when!' all over it.

Ladypug · 01/10/2015 23:20

Hehe do it!

Ah I found the whooping cough one not so bad so fingers crossed I'll be ok, although I find the thought of it much worse than the reality - just a big wuss!

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 02/10/2015 07:49

I haven't been offered the whooping couch or flu vaccines. I usually have the flu vaccine every year due to being a carer and needing to stay healthy and fit but I wasn't going to have it until baby has arrived.

I can't wait for baby to arrive now as my pelvis is constantly hurting and walking is very painful and difficult. I'm like an old lady when walking (taking tiny, very slow and tentative steps). I'm seeing the midwife today so hopefully she will tell me that the head is further engaged and that is what is causing the pain (head was on the brim two weeks ago).
Not long to go now until we have our little cuties to cuddle.

Has anybody on the thread already had their baby yet?

Adventuregame · 02/10/2015 12:50

I don't recognise many names on here anymore apart from Batfish, Ladypug and Gaggia ? Just wanted to return to the thread and wish you all luck with the imminent arrivals ladies !

Trickytricky · 02/10/2015 16:39

Iamnotloobrushphobic - make sure you have the flu jab whilst pregnant as it'll give you and the baby immunity. The midwife should advise when you're supposed to have the whooping cough vaccine. I can't remember when it is (I think about 34 weeks onwards).

I'm due next week - can't believe how quickly it's all come round. I don't feel very prepared! Just been watching some breastfeeding videos. I stupidly thought that it would be instinctive but worried that it may be harder than I thought...

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 02/10/2015 16:55

I don't know if I will have enough time to get the flu jab whilst still pregnant now as I only have 12 days until my due date and flu jabs at my surgery are only done on specific dates in special 'flu clinics'. I will have to look into it.
In saying that though the baby's head is only 1/5 engaged so I imagine I may go overdue.
The midwife hasn't said anything about whooping cough vaccine and I forgot to ask her today. I'm going to have a look through my notes.

SoontobeMommyof2 · 02/10/2015 17:25

I have flu jab clinic tomorrow. Can you to to boots and have it done?

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 03/10/2015 09:03

I checked through my notes and the midwife has ticked the boxes which say whooping couch and flu vaccines discussed and wanted but I know for a fact that she hasn't discussed either and she hasn't told me how to go about getting them done. It looks like I am too late for the whooping couch vaccine now as it should be given before 38 weeks. I will look into getting the flu vaccine early next week.
I also noticed on my notes that I was measuring over the 90th centile yesterday for the first time (previously close to 90th but not over it). I thought that they referred for a growth scan if you went Over the 90th centile so I will have to check that too.

gaggiagirl · 04/10/2015 20:55

adventure lovely to hear from you again. I had my baby 3 weeks early...a boy 7lb12.
How are you?

Congrats Gaggia! I'm not in the fb group so this is the first Octoberbus baby I know of! Exciting times. Hope you're all well xxx

Ladypug · 04/10/2015 22:02

Omg congrats Gaggia, not in facebook group either so first I've heard! How was it? When did you give birth? What is his name? Congrats!!

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 05/10/2015 09:55

Congrats Gaggia. I am not in the Facebook group either so this is the first baby news I have had from the October bus. I hope you and baby are well. Exciting times ahead.

AnnaBegins · 05/10/2015 13:25

Hi all, we had our baby boy on 30 th September, weighing 8lb7. Had to go back into hospital over yesterday night for jaundice treatment so only just had chance to update the thread. We are getting little sleep but he is lovely. Good luck to everyone!
