Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 28th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 46th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Ha gaggia thanks you always make laugh! I'll be happy with my little weird twitches that may be baby or may be a fart brewing!

batfish · 17/05/2015 20:01

ps hope you feel better soon! We went to ikea on Thurs and I was super excited all day at getting to eat in the canteen for my tea! I'm a cheap date!

Purpleball · 17/05/2015 20:32

Bat I've had those twitches since about week 17. I still get them and more determined movement like kicks. DH has felt a tiny bit outside but barely anything.

ChatEnOeuf · 17/05/2015 21:12

Bat it's really different for every woman - and each pregnancy. With DD I felt the first whisper of movement at about 17w, but DH couldn't feel much until gone 22w. This time around I felt it move around 12w, but again nothing outside until 17-18w. Placenta position, uterus tilt, position of baby and relative skinniness all influence to varying degrees.

Hope you're recovering ok Mini. I agree with much of what you said, except the Lansinoh - so expensive! I only used half of one of my tubes (but I did carry it with me everywhere. I never cared for nursing tops, too much hassle - just hitched up a regular top. Upstairs/downstairs changing is genius though - I only figured this out when DD was about 8w old!

Indigoblue2 · 17/05/2015 21:26

Great to hear from you mini - sounds like the section has been tough, hope you're feeling better as time goes on. All that info is a godsend, I'm looking to get a medela too, but the swing!

Purpleball · 17/05/2015 21:32

Can I just wear a shirt to BF?
Or the 2 vests theory?
Baby likely to be born late Aug/Early Sept so I'm thinking I won't want loads of layers.
Nursing tops seem expensive

Indigoblue2 · 17/05/2015 21:50

bat that's pretty much how I felt, wasn't sure if what I was feeling was "real". But the further on I got it became obvious it was the baby and not just gas!

Niffertiti · 17/05/2015 22:08

Thanks for all the boob advice viroids. The answer seems to be it's that it's impossible to predict! I'm attracted to the idea of just getting nursing bras and using them as maternity bras beforehand, just cos I'll be in the arse end of South-East Asia whilst bfing (if it sticks and if I can etc), and even my frankly underwhelming boobs don't fit the bras out there. I might check if there's a price difference, and it's if not much I guess it can't hurt to have a few in different sizes.

Hope everyone has had a happy weekend! I have a cracking sunburn (at least my forehead feels like it's about to crack..). It seems a side effect of being pg is turning tomato-red at the first hint of sunshine. Who knew ?

PixieChops · 17/05/2015 22:19

Oh I'm almost transparent Niff according to OH. To be fair my legs are like white whole milk but what can I do? I think I caught the sun once back in 2013. Not really had much of a tan since Grin
Speaking of milk I really want some but I'm in bed and can't be arsed moving Hmm

Hobbit19 · 17/05/2015 22:32

Err so after the success of the first tin of fruit cocktail for poo inducement, just so you know, I wouldn't then recommend eating a second tin. I really want to eat more fruit cocktail, it is soooooo mushy and nice

Told the PIL tonight and FIL told me he loved me Smile so lovely and quite emosh! (He had consumed 4 pints mind)

I use the vest and a top thing for feeding, works fine :)

LaLaLaaaa · 18/05/2015 07:47

Morning!
Oh sweet sleep, how I love thee! Honestly viroids a fan in the room has revolutionised my life. No more ear plugs needed because the noise blocks out the world and its solved my breathing problems. Apart from needing a wee once or twice I sleep like the dead.

So we survived ikea! First time in our lives we left with nothing but an ice cream cone. We were so restrained, partly become it was full of kids making strange wailing noises. One was particularly scary uttering 'raaaaaaaaaaah!!!' every now and then. So we went to mothercare and mamas and papas. Bought a few things but I wasn't feeling particularly inspired. Got 2 changing mats - one for downstairs one for upstairs, a pack of body suits, an all in one that cost a fortune but had a giraffe on it so I went a bit hormonal and decided it was essential, and a cellular blanket. It was a rubbish trip for shopping but we picked up ideas for nursery and then came home to shop online.

My vintage rocking chair arrived - my friend restores furniture and found it for me. Just need to get a cushion now for it which seems easier said than done! It also takes up a lot of space in the nursery but that's kind of unavoidable! I can't bf on sofa it makes my back hurt to sit there too long.

Online we just went for it with the list - gro bags (found them for £17) x 2, a storsak changing bag, cot bed mattress (£33 - bargain!). List is now much smaller than it was.

So as party was a success pixie! If gravel was your only worry id consider that a roaring triumph!

Chat I've got a sticker on my mat notes that tells them to scan my baby as soon as he's born to check hips. It's like a pyramid. I've got a letter confirming why inside. But been told it's likely he'll be fine as its us unfortunate ladies who seem to get it :(

Should we be getting anything for buggy? It's going to be summer so I've not bothered with any foot muff or anything. It comes with sunshade and insect net. Is that all we need?

Bat I'm inclined to think those monthly birth group threads are a massive source of stress due to so many comparisons with 'is this happening to you yet?' nature. I get frustrated with the July one - it just seems to be a lot of people worrying. Same with the Facebook group. I prefer it here coz you've got folk who've been at your stage already who can reassure you what's happening is fine. I also hate the weight chat as I think it's so unfair on folk who are worrying about their own weight. They are nice ladies but my July Facebook page is very intense - every morning someone is panicking and then there's a long line of posts telling them not to worry. I don't really look at the actual thread anymore as I couldn't follow it.

Slight flutters at 18 weeks but I didn't get any definite movement til around 22 weeks. Honestly don't worry about it, it will come and it will be lovely :)

Mine is having a party in me, he's never going to want to come out

Dulcet why are you wasting jelly beans? Shame on you! Orange are my favourite do feel free to send some my way.

Mini! Lovely to hear from you and thank you for the tips. Where did you hire pump from? I've already found boots pads are shite and really itchy! Will heed your advice and pack more stuff for hospital, plus I'm planning 2 changing stations. I have no room for tumble dryer :(

I've got lots of nursing tops, part of the job lot from my friend. You just hitch up the boob area and away you go, brilliant! I am going to do the two tops thing though the rest of the time - I can't afford to buy any more nursing tops. I have to say though I'm so looking forward to being back in my normal clothes at the end of all this!

Niff careful in the sun - pregnancy makes skin more sensitive. Lots of sun cream and don't sit out too long.

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2015 08:23

Day off - woooo! I have a few days off coming to try use up holiday but actually feel guilty sending DH off to work. It's so dark and dreary out there though, might just stay in bed!

I never want to go back to normal clothes la! Love over the bump jeans and leggings - so comfy! I did drop the jelly bean accidentally but it was vanilla so that fucker deserved to drown! Oh and pram stuff, are you planning any 'Lamaze toys'? Captain Calamari is popular.

Show us your pots tee! Did you get in the garden?

Aw, family love pud! Many more to tell? Maybe lay off the fruit cocktail... Or limit to one a day at least.

Loving the extra tips mini! Need to get some nighties! Hope the recovery speeds up a bit now.

Why were you sick gaggia? Shock Hope you're not ill. Pregnant ill is the pits.

batfish · 18/05/2015 08:44

Aww thanks viroids for the reassurance re movement! You're the best!

la so glad you're sleeping great now, sounds like heaven!

Pisghetti · 18/05/2015 09:12

I assume you've got raincovers La? I got a generic car seat cover for the maxicosi too which is handy on days like today (of course that only applies if you haven't left it at home like me and therefore the poor baby gets a blanket over the face to get her to the car). I've been given a couple of Lamaze clip on toys but they haven't made it onto the pram yet. To be honest she's only been in the pram a handful of times as I've taken to using a sling.

Ooh Ga asda are doing bags of Reese's sticks minis for £1.

RhiannonElward · 18/05/2015 09:20

Hello ladies, I am so rubbish at keeping up with you chatty lot so this is my latest effort.

Gag Oh my God, you must have been terrified, I would've been. So glad it wasn't what you feared and I sincerely hope telling your family you pissed yourself wasn't too hard. I can't imagine many circumstances where they'd be pleased to hear such news but that's got to be one of them.

Bat I've been feeling movement for a couple of weeks now but I'm having my third so I know what I'm looking for, and dp can't feel anything yet. I'm sure what you're feeling is your baby, but I can still go half a day without feeling anything if I'm busy and not thinking about it. I've not been on the October thread for a while, I'm just not so interested in everyone feeling like me, I like the spread of this one, with some about to drop and others not even having symptoms yet. It's a better sense of perspective and frankly the members are more down to earth and less competitive here.

La my dm and my dpil are well-meaning and lovely people, however they drive me up the bloody wall sometimes. This pregnancy we needed a travel system, dpil had one given to them so rang to tell us, elated with it and told us not to buy one. Now I'm not that fussy, but it's only half a travel system. It doesn't have the car seat part, and because they live in France and it's clearly been in storage for a while, I can't get hold of a car seat anywhere. So, I am left with a pushchair, which while technically suitable for newborn isn't what I want for my baby. I want to be able to see my baby, and not have to wake him/her whenever we get out of the car. I'm in the awkward position of either upsetting pil or using something I don't want. I don't want to offend them, they are genuinely so pleased with it and it does look like a good quality thing, it just doesn't do what I want it to do. I'd rather have a cheap one that is actually what I wanted. My dm has bipolar disorder, so I can't even be that angry, but she buys truckloads of crap off ebay for me. Second hand clothes in poor condition, mostly stuff I don't like, pink frills (agree with tee there) for dd being the main problem. She then gets angry if I don't jump for joy with gratitude and calls me ungrateful. I have asked her to stop so many times, she agrees and carries on regardless. Then when I want to buy clothes I like for my kids, dp says I'm being silly because we already have loads of clothes. Grr. Rant over.

As for bfing in public, nobody needs to actually get a tit out, my main problem was that I was discreet enough that people like dp's Grandad would sit next to me and chat, and then realise what was happening half way through, break out in a sweat and walk off, sometimes mid-sentence. It never stopped me feeding in public, I got used to that really quickly. I never bought any maternity tops, the bras are good though, I got some Mothercare ones which cost a lot but were really good. I still wear them.

Mini glad you're doing well :)

Right, I'll shut up now. A prize biscuit can be claimed for those who got to the end :)

Pisghetti · 18/05/2015 09:33

Claims prize biscuit

I'd fabricate some elaborate lie about getting a chassis free with a car seat so you're going to use that for a few months but can't wait until you can use the one they have. Or if they live in France just accept it and get another one anyway! They probably won't know.

Cymraes17 · 18/05/2015 09:37

I'm all alone... Its strange beeing home alone. Resisting the urge to do too much!!
Telly on, stil in pjs, may have another panad in a bit. Got up this morning and thought I should be in work, but now wont have to go back untill January.
Ive got an irratable uterus apparently, which is difrent from BH, explains all the regular tightnings ive had all last week though.
Regarding feeding clothes, ive only used a few feeding vests under normal clothes, but have been looking at feeding dresses in frugi for the summer, not done anything about it yet.

mountaingirl01 · 18/05/2015 09:37

Ok viroids I know I'm only 22+4.. but haven't even felt a fluttrr since yesterday morning, she's been so active over the weekend that it's freaking me out..

honeysucklejasmine · 18/05/2015 09:41

Mountain have you tried cold water etc?

LaLaLaaaa · 18/05/2015 09:58

Mountain don't worry! You won't necessarily feel regular movement til 24 weeks upward. There's so much space in there still she'll be swimming about gleefully and not necessarily touching the sides. At exactly your point I worried about the same thing and this lot told me it was fine and they were right Grin

If you've got time have a lie on your left, drink something cold or hot and see if that perks her up. But I didn't feel lots til 24 weeks.

Rhi ooh I'd be just as annoyed! I hate pink frilly stuff too. One of the reasons we've not told folk what we are having is because I don't want to be swimming in blue stuff. Can you politely say that actually you've magically won a travel system in a competition? Or just as pis suggests say thank you but use something else? They'll never know...

Cym stay in your pjs you have the best excuse! Try to rest as long as you can.

Tori were you induced? Did I miss that post?

Pis I think a raincover came with buggy but I'll check. Thank you!

Dulcet enjoy your day off! It's 9:57 and I've had 3 moany phone calls at work already! Confused
