Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 28th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 46th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Ahem. Paracetamol is not caving.

La you'll probably want a footmuff for autumn/winter, and a raincover for all of the times but no hurry until then. I need to see this rocking chair :)

Mountain try not to panic - movements don't tend to settle into a pattern until 24-26w, but give triage a call if you're concerned.

Afternoon viroids Smile

Tori hope it's going ok and things get moving soon.

Cym enjoy the peace and quiet and don't get dressed Smile

Rhi I'd probably not have the tact to keep quiet. I'd say that you've been given a new car seat but it won't fit on their pram so you're going to get a 2nd hand pram to match then scuff it a bit
I also would be charity shopping any frilly crap. I'm 90% that we're having a girl but she won't be wearing frilly crap.
And after hearing about Claudia Winklemans daughter she won't be wearing non fire retardant costumes either Sad

Babypurple didn't move much the other day at all, it was after I'd fallen in the morning and had walked miles the day before so either could have meant she was having a rest! Didn't stop me panicking though Confused
I think they just have quieter days. I definitely feel a lot more if I'm sat up or lying on my left. I don't feel much if I'm lying another way. She's well padded in there though Smile

Purpleball · 18/05/2015 12:20

My pram comes with a rain cover and foot muff, but not an insect net. Best add that to the list

Purpleball · 18/05/2015 12:22

Enjoy your day off Dulcet. I'm not buying toys as I think people will buy them when it's born, or we will get them given. I like the Lamaze ones though Smile

mountaingirl01 · 18/05/2015 13:07

Thanks all- I know I'm being silly but doesn't stop me worrying! If no movement by the time I finish my shift I'll be heading home for ice water etc :)

Yeah tori!

I have bought a little jelly cat giraffe toy for pram/car seat but only because it was cute and I had just finished a bad shift! It's pretty much all I have bought yet Blush
la if the giraffe onsie is the one I'm thinking it's so cute! I have to physically stop myself buying that whole range. The pink frilly crap is also a reason we are not divulging that we're having a girl that and it's quite nice to have a secret

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 13:14

Hello you lot!

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2015 13:51

If you have been active mountain it is easier to miss the feelings. Get yourself home as soon as possible for that drink and a lay down. They do have quieter days I think, like purple said, but we all panic when it happens!

Getting here then tori. I don't think anyone can say paracetamol is unreasonable!

Stick it out in the PJs cym, it's the best way to spend the day. I put mine back on in support of your choice!

I have many giraffe items too la. Not deliberately but has reached the stage of 'oh look, giraffe, we need that'!

My cats have no respect for my bump. They just stomp around on it with their pointy feet!

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2015 13:53

Hi fatty! You got to stick around love, you're before me on the list so you're my safety net! All ok?

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 13:58

Hi dulcet! I've just been busy last week, it was my DH's 30th birthday and we had some other parties as well.

freshstart4us · 18/05/2015 14:07

Hello Fatty and you lot! Grin

So I've read this thread, have probably missed 4, but it's so great to see you all!!

Embarrassing only putting in my stats at page 6 but will do so anyway for completeness:
fresh
41
DD 3.5 and the heart and soul of the party
36+6, due 9 June with DS

Tori and cym GX for you both that things move quickly and safely and you both meet your babies ASAP. DD's most recent Princess magazine came with pink and silver mini pom poms so they are being waved wildly in your directions!

gaggia so glad you pee'd your pants! Wink

mountain I didn't see the last thread but if you're having ANY doubts about your hospital, definitely change. I did at 30+ weeks with DD and it was the best thing I could have done. Am back at the same hospital this time, and they have been brilliant from booking in onwards. I fell down the stairs last Friday - ALL OK!!! - and even though at each step of the way the message was "we think your baby is absolutely fine but we'll just check...", I was only discharged when the consultant herself, at 9pm on a Friday evening, had opened up one of the ultrasound rooms and done a full scan. (Am I allowed to say a huge thank you to Kingston maternity unit? Oh what the heck, they are BLOODY FANTASTIC!)

Also re: movements, I didn't feel much at all this time until 24+ wks, my placenta was just in the wrong spot so strong, regular movements were few and far between until high 20s.

La and dulcet YANBU. "Gifts" should be chosen in the giftware section, preferably of the high value, small size variety with gift receipts provided for easy exchange/return. Vouchers - also acceptable. Nappies, muslins, baby bath products and any other such daily consumables are personal choice, into which others should not enter.

Oh and regarding your list La. Also a no to bumpers, go with volume/multipack purchases of sleep suits with integral mits from M&S or Mothercare (about 12-18 in each size), 3 or 4 sheets, apparently advisable not to use sleeping bags for the first couple of months so swaddle with large muslin or flat sheet until that point, but yes, 2 or 3 of those also good to have.

I've actually finished work now, and despite my to do list getting longer every day rather than shorter, hope to be around, lurking if not posting, as you guys rock...xx

Cymraes17 · 18/05/2015 14:17

Still in pjs! Feels strange. Have put some washing out to dry, and may go and tidy my side of the bed so I can get the moses basket out. DH and DC not due home untill 6 ish.
Have a lie down mountain, baby is either having a nap or you have been concentrating on other things, but still have a lie down.

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 14:20

Nice to see you again, fresh!

I am mostly done with my labour basket. It has hospital only stuff at the bottom and stuff that is useful for both a home birth (which I want) and a hospital birth at the top. Things that I still need to put in:

  • big knickers. I am thinking of just putting in the ones I have, which are one size fits all boxers and they are really comfy even at 33 weeks pregnant. So a few of those will go in the basket, the other I'm keeping to wear now.
  • baby clothes. They are being cute on their hangers in the nursery now, but will go in soon.
  • notes, insurances papers, cord tie and labour plan. Those are all in one folder, but it is in my handbag at the moment as I carry my notes around a lot.
  • snacks. I need to buy some snacks that are nice and tasty and keep well. I'm thinking of pre-packed cookies.
  • old shirt from DH to possibly give birth in.
teejayem · 18/05/2015 15:59

Don't mix lactulose and a litre of fresh orange juice unless you're happy to not move more than 5 metres away from a bathroom and feel like a Zeppelin. Confused

That aside I've had a very lazy day too, although have a bit of a laundry conveyor going on. Did some nice pots and hanging baskets yesterday and now it's blowing a sodding gale outside so I dragged them all against the house to try and stop the wind from ruining them.
Have all Pom poms out for you tori ~ Are you able to move about much? My sciatica flares when I stay still too long and that's one of my biggest induction worries, I hope you're okay xx
cym I think you've earned your time off work! Hope things get going again xx

mountaingirl01 · 18/05/2015 16:05

Had 3 glasses of cold water and now feel like a balloon have had a few prods so feel a bit better. I really wish I could lie down though, I feel awful. So incredibly tired, and had a funny moment earlier where my head started sort of buzzing and I felt a bit faint. Assuming it was the low bp again but just added to the wish that I had called in sick this morning :(

Liking all the advice/lists.. keep it up and I may have some idea of what to do by September!

Lol tee I've made that mistake before.. pop a good book in the bathroom..

LaLaLaaaa · 18/05/2015 16:28

Good mountain! Glad she's being a bit more noticeable and has stopped worrying you Smile

Fresh - scary to hear you fell down the stairs but so good to hear the hospital were great! Mine are also excellent, to the point where I'm almost reluctant to catch for advice because default response is to get me to come in for monitoring and its 45 min away! Enjoy your pre baby time at home with dh and your wee one Grin

Tee - pic of pots? I also get sore if I sit too long, worse than if I'm upright too long. Weird...

Fatty I love your labour basket! Is it actually a real basket? Where do you plan to give birth at home, are you hiring a pool? I'm going to start planning hospital bag this week, I'm a couple of weeks behind you I think.

I felt horrendous after lunch - hot, sick and tired. My boss let me go down to the first aid room to have a rest. I slept for 20 minutes and feel soooo much better now! Definitely a good idea to fit naps in

Cym it sounds like you've had a lovely peaceful day Grin

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2015 17:01

How were the 30th celebrations fatty? You labour basket sounds good, although freaked out as that isn't even on my radar yet! DH is already in charge of the snack bag though.

Hey fresh, getting close! You're 'in the zone' tomorrow as my NCT lady says. Exciting!

Glad you can feel something now mountain. You'll probably need lots of wees now!

At least it rained this morning tee, that's good for pots!

I'm watching eternal sunshine. What a mistake! Now I'm sad. Which reminds me, I have nearly cried over two separate snails in the past week. I stood on one, still feel awful about it...

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 18:02

la, my basket is one of those flexibel giant buckets. Like this one: www.beslist.nl/products/huis_tuin/r/flexibel_wasmand_40ltr/#zoomview
Mine is a soft green and afterwards it will go into the nursery for toys.

I am thinking about buying a pool. It is only a little more expensive than hiring one and hiring would mean picking it up miles away and bringing it back again. But maybe I won't bother, as they are really expensive and it is perfectly possible to give birth without one. Pools aren't common over here, so most ladies just give birth dry.

dulcet, DH's party was fine, I was just pissed off that some of his 'friends' decided to ruin my tulips...

Fleurchamp · 18/05/2015 18:03

Hi viroids

Just checking in to say hi! All well here in scandi land. Have walked my socks off, in the rain, and eaten my body weight in cake Grin

I am 31 weeks and find it so much better to be walking about than sitting at my desk all day. Is that strange?
May campaign DH to agree to me starting mat. leave earlier.....

Keep popping in for new baby news!

ChatEnOeuf · 18/05/2015 18:52

Packed my bag! Thanks for the inspiration Fatty :) Bursting, so will need the rucksack for labour ward necessities (phone charger, food, camera...) but that will mostly be thrown together at the last minute. Feel a bit more ready now - hopefully that's a sign. You can turn around now, TinyChat Grin

Toast85 · 18/05/2015 19:46

Mountain hope you're feeling better?

Fatty, nice basket, that's a good idea for a hospital bag. It's also wipe clean!

Just picked up a second hand cot, we will have it in with us next to the bed initially instead of a Moses basket. Feeling ridiculously excited to have the first 'big' thing even though it's just a second hand cheapie cot!

So Cym I am confused/being thick..
Is baby on pause at the mo? Sorry..

Tori hope things are going well!

Cymraes17 · 18/05/2015 20:23

Baby on pause is a good way of saying it! The contractions im having arent doing anything, except getting on my nerves. They could carry on for the next 3 1/2 weeks, or they could turn up a notch and actually do something! I keep geting back pains and tightnings of the belly, but they arent painfull. The periody type pain hasnt come yet, and they will tell me if im in labour or not.
Well done on the cot toast! Ive got the moses out this afternoon and had a bit of a tidy my side of the bed. Also ordered some fairy lights to wrap around the 'headboard' of a metal frame bed, so I can have some dimmed light to feed at night. Last time i put a towel over bedside lamp, didnt really work.

Toast85 · 18/05/2015 20:34

Wow Cym at least it's not too painful. Pom poms for them turning into useful contractions before too long!
Love the fairy lights idea, I might totally steal that, as our bedside lamps are quite bright too.

Fleurchamp · 18/05/2015 20:50

Great idea about the fairy lights!

gaggiagirl · 18/05/2015 20:52

pis thank you!

dulcet it was just 'morning' sickness making its return.

I had ante natal physio today. It was pleasant I can have a bump belt in a few weeks.

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 21:16

The basket also only cost me about 2 pounds, which is an absolute bargain for something that useful!
