Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Eeeek I'm still wearing my underwires as they are the only ones I have, Plus boobs haven't grown yet. I might have to look into this milk duct damaging thingy....

Congrats on the surprise pregnancy scary, even though it wasn't what you were expecting I hope it's still good news. How many kids do you have already? Do you have no nausea or anything then? Most of us are really suffering in here and there is no doubt we knew we were preggo lol!

Worried about metal... Please post soon hun!

chopsface · 14/05/2015 12:20

Oh called the midwife "hub" to check if I might get a booking in appointment soon and it was just answer phone message saying they will get back within 24 to 48 hours!!! WTF!

abi2790 · 14/05/2015 12:23

Afternoon ladies.

I've had my booking in this morning. Feels all official now Smile. If all goes well and my heart rate stays normal I will be all good for a home birth! I had a tear with ds and had to have stitches so I was worried that I would have to go into hospital after having baby if the same happened again but apparently all midwifes are trained to do stitches so long as it's not a major tear. Fx my heart rate doesn't go nuts again!!

I will get my scan dare after today, hopefully it won't take too long!

abi2790 · 14/05/2015 12:25

date not dare!

Metalhead · 14/05/2015 12:37

Hi all, sorry for not posting earlier, had to go straight to work from my scan and forgot my phone. All is well with mini-Metal! Smile It was amazing actually, you could already see little fingers and toes, and bean was moving around a lot too. Measuring just right still at 9+6. I actually cried with relief afterwards! The sonographer said I'd have to be extremely unlucky for something to wrong now. Glad your scan went well too chops!

MarkingMyPlace9 · 14/05/2015 12:47

Glad to hear it Metal

FlorIxora · 14/05/2015 12:57

Metal That's lovely. xx

I had a moment of pure disbelief when I read this week my 8+3 bean has started moving. Mind blown!

Fizzie100 · 14/05/2015 13:11

Hurrah for baby metal!

Withalittlesparkle · 14/05/2015 13:20

Brill news metal

ineedsomeinspiration · 14/05/2015 13:54

Nice to hear more good scan news.

For those worrying about underwire. I wore it through my last pregnancy and even had some breastfeeding underwired ones. I have recently discovered thanks to mn and bravissimo that I've been wearing the wrong size bra. I breastfed ds for a year with no problems.

Dh thinks I'm upstairs sorting my wardrobe out but I'm actually laying on the bed mnetting.

shinysparklythings · 14/05/2015 13:58

That's fab news metal!

I decided to come to work and I'm so tired, but my stomach is behaving at least! Only an hour and half to go.

I sent my free prescription form off this morning, so feels like another step closer. I really feel like I'm starting to get a bump too! ok I know it's probably not yet! there are so many pregnant people at work I want to join in the convos. Also I didn't apply for a role that everyone knows I want last week and I have to keep making up excuses as to why I didn't! "Something else on the pipeline" is my current excuse! Confused

FlorIxora · 14/05/2015 14:21

Shiny, is the job in the same company? Unless you're planning to stay home after the baby's arrival, you should definitely apply!

shinysparklythings · 14/05/2015 14:27

flora yes but I work in a school and it's a pastoral role, so not one I can leave to go on maternity as such I would only be here for less than a term and it's not fair on the kids! I'll get it after bean is here unless I decide I don't want the extra responsibility as it cuts into family time too much

chopsface · 14/05/2015 14:46

Yay metal! So pleased for you hun!

FlorIxora · 14/05/2015 14:49

Shiny Ahhhhh I see. I have a few friends who work in schools, indeed it's not just the boss you'd be "inconveniencing".

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 14/05/2015 15:24

Congrats Metal!

Isn't it nice to have a good news day.

Fairydogmother · 14/05/2015 15:37

Hey everyone. Checking back in as I've been absent since the first thread I think!

I'm 12 weeks today and had my scan last week - measured 11 weeks instead of the 10 that I thought I was so my due date will be November. Should I move to the other November bus?!

Hope everyone is well

MissMrsMummy · 14/05/2015 17:20

Hi all,

Wonderful to hear such good scan news today! It's still over a week until my early one! I'm going to be sat here with tumbleweed after you've all had your babies! Anyone else due at the end of Dec?!

Can we talk about smells? I currently have 2 that I can smell all the time!

  • rabbit hutch
  • damp, mouldy cellar
TerryTheGreenHorse · 14/05/2015 17:27

Hurrah for all the good scan news, well done little December grapes.

FlorIxora · 14/05/2015 17:29

Miss don't worry a couple of us will be way overdue and keep you company.

So Xmas with either a massive belly or a wee baby. What the hell does one plan or not plan? I was hoping to have family from abroad over -( hence my being preoccupied by this already. I love Christmas and my family need to plan ahead to save really. We have varying levels of disposal income.)

Any 2nd or 3rd timers on our thread have been there and done that?

chopsface · 14/05/2015 17:33

Lol missmrs! I've been alright with smells in general, except today. Today we did egg fried rice and omg what a rank smell! Like dirty dish cloths. Couldn't eat it! Yeurch! oh and another weird one, I hate the smell of fresh washing out of the machine!

Withalittlesparkle · 14/05/2015 18:01

Fairy you could ride both buses! I was the last one of my old board to give birth I related closer to some the next month mums!!

Re Christmas we're heading to family because I don't want to cook but if you're entertaining how about simplifying things and skipping a big dinner?

Withalittlesparkle · 14/05/2015 18:02

Chops with DS I could smell heat!! The smell of any oven on made me gag

chopsface · 14/05/2015 18:16

I'm sure I could smell the hot paving slabs on holiday...

As for Christmas. I don't think we will bother making any plans with family, and I doubt that our parents will either in case they need to be on hand! With a due date of Dec 20th I could have a tiny baby and be all over the place or I could be pushing and shoving in a hospital bed or I could be overdue and not be able to leave the house to see family and not be able to host either! Neither set of parents live in the same city as us so it's hard.

abi2790 · 14/05/2015 18:37

Re smells bacon really makes me heave even though I loved it pre pregnancy.

I just dug out my doppler and can't decide whether to use it? It says from 12 weeks and I'm 10+2. I was pretty good at finding ds' heart beat with it though so I may be able to find it? Is it worth me using it and worrying cos I can't find the heart beat??
