Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Oh honey, I'm so sorry! Stay as strong as you are now and hug your little one just a little tighter tonight xx

Hummingbird15 · 13/05/2015 17:37

Oh Honey and Wife, I'm so sad and sorry to read this today.

Honey85 · 13/05/2015 18:16

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes, it feels so strange after focussing so much on something for the last 6/7 weeks, for it to not be there anymore!

Take care all x

FlorIxora · 13/05/2015 18:23

Honey I am very sorry for your loss. You seem to have a lot of spirit. xxx Flowers

Sad day on the thread.

I wanted to recount an anecdote. I received my "Baby on Board" envelope. Only some bastard stole the badge out of the envelope. I couldn't believe it.

chopsface · 13/05/2015 18:44

Has anyone else really let the housework go? I have no desire or energy to clean my house. Can write my name in every surface and as for the bathroom! Omg!

Oh and does anyone else gag on the massive horse tranquilizer sized preg vits?! I'm fine with pills but those and nausea? Bleurch!

metal mine isn't until 9.05! That's positively late compared to yours! I'm usually up eating before 7 to stave off nausea that's still HOURS to go! Argh! Oh and drinking a pint of water beforehand, bleurch. Really gone off liquid :-(

Jebel · 13/05/2015 18:52

honey and wifey so very sad to read your news. Take care of yourselves xxx

Flor cannot believe someone stole the badge. How depressing. Thanks for asking re work, we have settled and I am officially unemployed! Now trying to find a short-term contract but is hard to motivate myself when so nauseous!

Good luck chops and metal.

Welcome cinders.

Chandlers thanks for starting new page. It is totally normal for symptoms to come and go. I felt fine weeks 10-12 last time and then it came back with a vengeance and vomited just before giving a speech at 15 weeks. Nice. Yes, am going to Phuket. Think I will end up just buying crap from 7-11 rather than all that delicious Thai food, serves me right for being so organised and booking holiday so far in advance!

Re birth plans etc. The best advice I can give is focus on the stuff AFTER the birth i.e. what to do when you get your baby home, how to breastfeed (if that's what you choose - it is bloody hard), how to bath your baby, are you going to have a routine etc. So many people had so many opinions, including my mother, on what birth to have but it is really the least important bit. In the end I had to have a CS, I cried all the way to the operating theatre. But it did not matter at all, all that matters is that your baby is delivered safely.

I have some happier news on the spotting front. I was spotting and got an emergency appointment. All ok, little bean measuring right on dates and wriggling around. Have another scan next week to get measurements right for harmony test.

Sweets27 · 13/05/2015 18:54

chops the vitamins make me gag too. I haven't been taking them, mainly for that reason - I take a prescribed higher dose of folic acid already, plus the 10mg vit D that the NHS recommends. That's all you really need to take - I'm of the view that companies like Pregnacare make far too much money out of us ladies wanting to do the best for our babies, when really if you take the folic acid, vit D and maybe some vit C every once in a while, and you eat a balanced diet, you're doing enough.

It's been such a sad day on the thread today, I feel low, and so awful for honey and wifey. It's a big reality check, reminding us that we're lucky at the moment, but things can still go wrong. Anyway. Did have my scan this morning which revealed my cyst still being big and cyst-like, but the little bean healthy enough. Counting my blessings for the moment!

Flowers to all who've had a bad day.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 13/05/2015 18:57

Oh Honey no, I am so sad to hear your news. Not a good day today. Sending you and wifey hugs. Life can be very unfair at times and have no senses or reason to it.

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow.

Chops my house isn't actually too bad because I am very fortunate to have my DH who does most of the cleaning. I do the laundry and the cooking and that has definitely slipped. I usually cook most things from scratch but we've been living on convenience food for the last couple of weeks. Tonight I am cooking sweet and sour from scratch and am feeling pretty pleased with myself as I was really struggling to get over the nausea but somehow I managed it! And I ate an apple earlier for the first time in ages and enjoyed it!

Anyone else's skin broken out into a horrible spotty mess? I will admit I've been a bit lax with my usual skincare routine and now I am paying the price!

Sweets27 · 13/05/2015 18:57

jebel, thanks for the advice on planning - it's quite easy to forget what happens after the birth when you actually have a small person who's totally dependent on you! My plan for the birth itself is: take it one step at a time...

Oh and yay re the scan, really glad for you that you've got that reassurance. Nice to have some happy news! Smile

FlorIxora · 13/05/2015 19:00

Jebel That's a lovely bit on sunshine. Thank you for sharing.

I know I want to bf, out of sheer laziness really Wink, I don't want to have to wash bottles and spend a fortune on formula.

So I signed up for a 10k walk on for next Monday. We'll call it a sympathy hike for afloat .

New symptoms: I fall asleep on the tube on the way to work. This is dreadful I arrive there feeling wretched. (nnever have been a morning person). I have also become ruthless - maybe due to lack of badge - if I spot a seat noone else is getting it.

chopsface · 13/05/2015 19:05

sweets I was just taking folic acid plus vit D but because I'd not been eating a balanced diet (basically living off crisps and bread!) I bought some vits! I prob won't take them all the way through as I hope the 2nd trimester will be nausea free and I get back to my healthy eating!

Yes, a very bad day on the thread. I was hoping we wouldn't lose anyone else so many weeks in. The news had me all welling up and even more nervous for tomorrow. My friend just text me to ask if I was excited about scan. Erm, no I'm not. I just need to know what's going on in there!

orangemouth281 · 13/05/2015 19:14

Hi all, just to let you know I'm back from my scan and everything looks good so far with the little bean, measuring 8 weeks so matching my dates and heartbeat flickering away!

They mentioned a small cyst on one of my ovaries which apparently show which one I ovulated from, does anyone know what that means? Will it just disappear? She didn't seem concerned.

Also I am only taking folic acid at this stage but since I'm only eating toast and rich tea biscuits should I be taking something else? I usually eat a good balanced diet but the nausea means I can't stomach it at the moment.

WonkyDonkBonk · 13/05/2015 19:37

flor a 10k?! I I'm both impressed and shocked. I threw up after walking ba k from the park too quickly today. A 10k would not happen.

Hummingbird15 · 13/05/2015 19:59

Hi, like orange I am just back from a private scan and was so relieved to see/hear a heartbeat and bean measuring right at 9 weeks - all feels a bit more real now. And all the more heartbreaking for Honey and Wife today.

The scan was such a lovely relief after a crappy day at work where I found out that my amazing manager has been made redundant. Wouldn't be so bad but our director (who will now be my manager) goes on mat leave next week and her cover seems to be a bit of an ogre so we could be in for fun times ahead!

Avasmum8 · 13/05/2015 21:23

Honey and wife I am so sorry to hear about your losses :( I can't believe they made you wait till the next day /7 days time! You must be very strong women.. When I had my mmc at 8 weeks I had the second opinion on the same day then went straight ahead with medical management, I needed it to be over ASAP. It's heartbreaking however u go about it sending you lots of hugs. Hope you've both got lots of support Xx

Avasmum8 · 13/05/2015 21:26

Florl re the ELCS versus induction I think you need to give your body the best chance to birth before opting for major surgery, CS deff have their place but It is deff not an easy way out, I was induced and it was fine! I also look after lots and lots of women who are induced and the outcomes are more good than bad :)

Withalittlesparkle · 13/05/2015 22:05

Hi newbies, welcome

Re vitamins - you could take prenatal vitamin, plenty of nutrients in those. However I think on such a limited diet I'd be speaking to my midwife? You could have hypermesis (however you spell it)

I've had a rough day, yesterday I bought b

Withalittlesparkle · 13/05/2015 22:07

Sorry pressed post too soon!!

Yesterday I bought back everything i ate, today I just felt week and pathetic. I took my DS to the park with my DNs and nearly passed out when I got back, cue my mother having super stern words with me about taking it easy

TerryTheGreenHorse · 13/05/2015 22:07

Hi everyone

Honey & wifey im so sorry to hear such awful news, I hope you are both getting good support in RL. Thanks

HariboBrenshnio · 13/05/2015 22:10

Checking in.
I'm so sorry to hear the sad news today. I was in you exact same position in October when I found out at the 12 week scan that I'd MMC at 9 weeks. Look after yourself in the weeks and months to come and gets lots of TLC xxx

Im happy to set up the secret FB group once the 12 week scans are under way. You'd all have to PM with your real name and description of your FB profile and then we'd have to become friends (you can delete me straight away!) before you could be added to the group. It's the only way to keep it completely secret. Once your added though you can add people so it won't just be me getting 80 odd PMs! :)

ineedsomeinspiration · 13/05/2015 22:18

Sorryfor those who had news today.

baby I had awful acne for the whole of my last pregnancy. All over my face, neck and back.

congrats to those who've had positive scans.

chopsface · 13/05/2015 22:40

I have spots on my shoulders!

TerryTheGreenHorse · 13/05/2015 22:43

Brilliant thanks for doing that Haribo.

Let me know when you're ready and I'll get in the case.

It's lovely when you first join and see everyone pop up.

MarkingMyPlace9 · 14/05/2015 06:42

I'm up for the FB Group aswell, not long till the 12 Week Scans start happening now! Good Morning all, and I hope everyone has a good, non sick Day!

tammie49 · 14/05/2015 06:47

Just marking my spot.
Just had a quick catch up and so sorry to hear that people are going through sad times. Take care of yourselves. x
