Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
WonkyDonkBonk · 07/06/2015 09:29

Ah, I'm not on the fb group yet as i haven't had my scan yet and don't want to tempt fate. Thanks for letting me know.

Orange congrats on the scan date, mine is 15th and I'll be 12+5 its an exercise in patience isn't it. I'm still in underwired bras, like you i switched to non-underwired ones last time and they were quiet grim. Apparently underwired ones are fine as long as they dont sit on the breast tissue. I'll try and keep with normal ones for as long as possible.

Cariad2014 · 07/06/2015 10:43

Metal - glad to hear your SIL managed to reassure you somewhat.

Will the clinic you're going to for the Harmony Test re-do the nuchal scan and combined blood test? Mine insisted on doing so and because my hcg levels were lower (I assume this was because the hospital's blood test was done at 9am, before I'd eaten (or drunk very much), whereas the clinic's blood test was done at 5.30pm)), my risk factors were lower. I was told that the blood test results can fluctuate quite a bit. We've still gone ahead with the Harmony test, and have decided not to tell anyone until we've had the results.

Thinking of you. x x

Metalhead · 07/06/2015 13:19

It didn't say anything about redoing the combined test on their website cariad, so I think it'll just be the Harmony test. When do you get your results?

chopsface · 07/06/2015 13:28

orange I've just bought some M&S non-wired t-shirt bras. They are really rubbing me under my boobs! I have loads of their under-wired t-shirt bras in every colour and I love them! The non wired version are only in flesh, black and white too, bleurch. Didn't want to go for the boulder-holder ones you get in the cardboard boxes that look like my mums!

Cariad2014 · 07/06/2015 13:31

Metal - I was told the results should be back within 10-15 days, so I'm hoping they'll be back by Friday, 19 June but I can easily see it slipping into the following week x x

Metalhead · 07/06/2015 15:32

I'm hoping it'll be more like 10 days! Kicking myself now that I didn't ask whether they had any Saturday appointments, I could've gone yesterday and saved myself four days of waiting.

Cariad2014 · 07/06/2015 18:33

Metal - Presumably many of these labs don't work weekends so chances are, your results will be back just as quickly whether you'd had the test on Saturday or on a Tuesday. I think they were just managing my expectations by saying the results could take up to 15 days (particularly as my bloods weren't taken until Friday evening). Fingers crossed yours will come back within 10 days x x

Metalhead · 07/06/2015 21:34

Thanks cariad. I'm just so fed up with waiting already...

ThreeBeanRap · 08/06/2015 10:03

I hope you get the results soon Metal.

I haven't joined the FB group either, nervous in case I know someone on there and then they can identify me! Does everyone know each other's MN name on there?

Feeling absolutely awful today, I have had a headache since Saturday night which won't shift and felt really sick last night and this morning. Worse than any point in the first trimester!

chopsface · 08/06/2015 10:21

Headache here too bean :-( you should join fb! Tons going on there and we are getting to know each other as actual people instead of nicknames. No one knows each other in RL, yet! Chances are so slim.

You going to join metal?

cantthinkofaname87 · 08/06/2015 10:43

Hi all - who on here is adding people to the Facebook group? Can you let me know so I can be added please?! Thanks

bookgirl1982 · 08/06/2015 10:51

metal, I don't know if this is helpful but my Harmony report has the dates on it. Blood taken 21/5, received at lab 22/5, report date 28/5. So the clinic had the results a week after the blood was taken, even though my appointment wasn't for another week after that. If you have an appointment booked for later it might be worth asking if it can be any earlier.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 08/06/2015 10:52

Hey everyone, sorry it has been quiet here, it really is so much easier to keep up with the fb group. I understand waiting to join until you've had successful scans though. We have a sticky "Introduce yourself" post but to be honest I can't remember who belongs to which username!

Metal just want you to know I've been thinking about you. I really hope the results come back quickly for you and I'm so glad you have had some reassurance from your sil.

Also headaching here :( I remember this from the last time though I don't think they got really bad until week 18, then I had migraines on and off for a fortnight. SO not looking forward to that this time!!

I have discovered a new aversion - milk! It seems if I have it now in more than a dash in tea it makes me so queasy and nauseous. Which sucks as I am rather partial to a bowl of rice krispies and ice cold milk at the moment. Am going to try cutting it out for a few days to see if that makes any difference.

ThreeBeanRap · 08/06/2015 12:29

chops and babyfaced are you finding anything helps with the headaches? Took two paracetamol yesterday but it didn't help at all so a bit reluctant to take any more. I'm drinking lots of water to make sure I'm not dehydrated but nothing seems to be helping!!

Maybe I will do the FB thing…who do I need to message?

chopsface · 08/06/2015 12:40

afloat set it up but not seen her in here since! Maybe I'll post on fb and say there are ladies on here waiting to joiin?

As for the headaches, I'm not taking anything. We had this convo on fb yesterday (see, missing out!) And someone mentioned 4head stick to rub on? Think I need to pop into a pharmacist. Doeant help that I've got hayfever too and blowing my nose, feel really sinus-y

afloat · 08/06/2015 13:04

Helloo! I'm keeping an eye on the thread but have been really busy lately, apologies for not keeping up. I am adding anyone who PMs me their Facebook login email address.

Thanks chops for prompting me :)

ThreeBean, you can join and not introduce yourself/your MN name and participate anyway if it makes you feel better.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 08/06/2015 13:21

ThreeBean I find drinking plenty of water can help prevent them though once they feel like they're about strike i usually take a couple of paracetamol and a cup of coffee. Though sometimes all that helps me is to sleep it off! I have been assured that paracetamol is fine in pregnancy, however it isn't recommended that you pop them like Smarties! Mine passed by the time I was 20 weeks last time.

Oooh Chops shit one with the hayfever! I am almost afraid to say this in case I jinx myself but my allergies seem to disappear when I'm pregnant...and I would suffer badly from them. Not complaining about that at all!

Metalhead · 08/06/2015 13:32

Thanks bookgirl, that's really helpful. I didn't know you had to have an appointment to get the results, I thought they just phone/email you.

I'm also still getting headaches, mostly in the evening. Haven't found anything that helps yet unfortunately.

I don't think I'll join the FB group chops, I'm just not one for joining things on there. (Might change my mind though if everyone disappears off here! Grin)

cantthinkofaname87 · 08/06/2015 13:57

afloat - I've messages you my details for the FB group!

ThreeBeanRap · 08/06/2015 14:58

Thanks afloat, have PMd you.

My headache seems to be easing off a bit this afternoon so I am really hoping it's going for good! I've had two other ones like this in the last month or so but both times they went with 2 paracetamol so it's been ok. I know paracetamol is fine to take but as you say I don't want to overdo it. This one was just a bit more persistent!

afloat · 08/06/2015 15:02

I've just added five new members to Facebook :)

Fizzie100 · 08/06/2015 17:58

So sorry to be annoying but can I just check the FB is secret or closed?? Just don't want it showing if I join!

Jebel · 08/06/2015 18:00

Fizzie it won't show, it's a private group :)

daffodil196 · 08/06/2015 19:31

Hi all,
Sorry for not keeping up too well, and not getting organised to get on FB yet either. Still feeling horrendous, now 14 weeks 4 days, thought 2nd trimester was supposed to bring wonderful things?!

I'm getting a lot of headaches too, although not sure if more related to dehydration from the sickness. I've always been prone to headaches anyway as well. I've taken paracetemol a few times but would prefer not to, and can't always keep it down anyway. The 4head stick provides a bit of temporary relief if I'm out and about and can't lie down. But mainly sleep seems to be the answer.

Will message afloat now and hopefully see you on FB soon :)

Elsabean · 08/06/2015 20:03

Hello, have been lurking since the beginning but finally decided to take the plunge and would like to join the Facebook group too please. I am 35, expecting dc3 (2 ds already). Due date dec 6th and we had our first scan last week. Is it ok if I PM you afloat ?
