Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 04/06/2015 14:32

It was making me laugh how awkward and fidgety it was being!!

bookgirl1982 · 04/06/2015 16:46

May I join you? Long time lurker on the thread, but wanted to get to 12 weeks with good test results before getting involved. Harmony results this afternoon all low risk, so here I am!

So for the stats, I'm 32, this is DC1, EDD 16/12/15, SE London, booking in was 6 May, 12 week scan 4/6/15.

Think I might let myself get a little bit excited now!

Fairydogmother · 04/06/2015 16:59

bean hormones have a massive amount to answer for! I'm 15 weeks today too so ticking off the weeks rightly. I'm utterly exhausted as I went back to work on Wednesday and 2 days of it have shattered any limited energy I had

Fairydogmother · 04/06/2015 17:00

Hi book!

WonkyDonkBonk · 04/06/2015 17:05

Welcome book i think you are entitled to get a bit excited now. You're going to have a baby, yippee! Grin

Jebel · 04/06/2015 17:48

Cariad glad your scan went well. I am sure all is ok for you but I can understand that you want the reassurance.

Welcome bookgirl

sharon congrats on the scan!

DH has gone out having fun (it's the start of our weekend here). I'm on the sofa in my pjs watching Pitch Perfect 2!

Sweets27 · 04/06/2015 17:59

Yay cariad and sharon, glad the scans went well! Smile

Cariad, hope the Harmony test gives you some more reassurance on the Down's question.

Cariad2014 · 04/06/2015 18:46

Thanks Jebel and Sweets. X x

Hummingbird15 · 04/06/2015 19:30

I just got home to find a letter from the hospital saying I may have a uti - they say if I have no symptoms (which I don't) I have to go back to a drop in clinic for another pee test... that's all well and good but the hospital is a 2 hour journey from my office and I just can't bring myself to take a half day annual leave for a urine test for a uti I don't think I have! So, how important do you think a re - test is?

Withalittlesparkle · 04/06/2015 19:34

Hummingbird if there's a chance you have a uti then you must go back for a retest!! A uti can develop/worsen and can be serious. I don't want to scare you but if it was me I'd want to make doubly sure

Metalhead · 04/06/2015 19:40

humming can you go to your GP instead for the urine test?

Congrats to those with positive scans today! cariad with those odds I'm sure your Harmony test will come back clear.

Hummingbird15 · 04/06/2015 19:45

It said that I can only go to the gp if I think I have a uti to get antibiotics otherwise I have to go to the hosp.

Hummingbird15 · 04/06/2015 19:46

Oh and welcome and congrats to book!

bakingdiva · 04/06/2015 20:01

Hi all, I hope you don't mind if I join a little late.

Wanted to wait until after the 12 week scan as previous pregnancy with twins that's when it all hit the fan and we lost them at 16 weeks. But the scan this time was all normal, so feel like I can maybe start to get excited and admit that I'm pregnant (although kind of still waiting for the axe to fall somehow).

Stats - I'm 35, this is DC1, EDD 9/12/15, booking was May 11, 12 week scan was 29 May. 20 week scan booked for 22 July.

TreeSparrow · 04/06/2015 20:21

Hummingbird - you shouldn't have to take annual leave to go to hospital, surely? They should just let you go.

AmberLav · 04/06/2015 20:32

Welcome book and baking! So sorry to hear about your last pregnancy baking, hopefully everything will be completely normal this time...

Hummingbird - I was thinking this may be covered by the rule of any antenatal appointments, it's more unusual, but it is a pregnancy related illness, it is quite common to get asymptomatic utis in pregnancy, and they should be treated seriously before they get bad - that is one of the reasons why we have to hand over quite so much wee in pregnancy!

claremccrory59 · 04/06/2015 20:34

Welcome bakingdiva! My EDD is also 9th Dec :)
Glad all us going better for you this time around

Congrats to those with lovely scans! I have to say I can't stop looking at my little picture we got yesterday. Somehow just seems so real now. Bit nervous about NT results, the measurement was 1.1mm but no idea about the bloods. Fingers crossed. Hope everyone is doing well today & let's hope the sun comes back out tomorrow!

Andifyoudontfirstsucceed · 04/06/2015 20:48

Hello all, got my results from my screening last week today 1:2562 adjusted from 1:611 for trisomy one. Letter states I am not at risk but hubby States thatnhe thinks that still a big risk which has made me feel sicker than I already do! (Morning sickness is still about at 13 weeks Sad ) should we be worrying?

AmberLav · 04/06/2015 20:58

I think I was about 1:1000 with dc1, and 1:2000 with dc2, I didn't worry either time...

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 04/06/2015 20:58

I love my little scan pictures. The kids however were less than impressed my sons words were 'it's freaky it's got a skull'

Hummingbird15 · 04/06/2015 20:59

andif I was told that anything higher than 1/150 is low risk and you are way above that.

I haven't told work yet that I'm pregnant and due to some issues with my new manager I really don't want to until at least the end of June. So.... I think that I'd have to take time off Confused

Pepperpot81 · 05/06/2015 05:37

Hi everyone.

Nine long weeks of lurking can finally come to an end for me! And a special hello to Baking and Book for making me feel less like a mad woman for lurking for so long!

I'm the grand (old) age of 34, DC1 with ICSI (IVF) and we live in north Surrey. Had our 12 week scan yesterday (4 June) and saw a lovely, if sleepy, baby with a strong heartbeat. Such a joy and a relief! Not much movement so the sonographer asked me to shake around a bit to wake him/her up which prompted a stretch and a wave! Then more sleep!

Our booking in was May 20th, our due date is 16th December and our 20 week scan is August 7th - actually 21 weeks so I hope I develop some patience!!

We've also booked labour ward and birth centre tours for early August. Not keen on a home birth - probably nerves as it's taken us a long time to get here, but like the sound of a birth centre.

As I say, I've been following you all for what seems like forever and am pleased finally to be out in the open! Spending the next few weekends visiting family and friends to share our news face to face! We told both parents at 9 weeks when they came for a planned visit and it's safe to say they are pretty excited for grandchild number 1!

Congratulations to everyone on their babies and scans and thoughts definitely with those having difficult results/morning sickness.

My only real issues have been two days of v heavy nosebleeds a few weeks back (v odd and a bit scary!) and the fact I've become a carbs Hoover to stop the nausea so already half a stone heavier! Argh!

Still, that's easing off now so hopefully I can even things up on tri 2. Hopefully!

Also had quite a bit of insomnia - after the 2/3am nightly pee stop and waking up v v early. I've been telling myself it's good practice - and it's been a good excuse for early nights!

This morning I'm just still a bit shocked we've had the scan and all is ok - just adjusting my head to that really! And hopefully I'll now settle in and start enjoying the best countdown to Christmas all of us ever had!

Hummingbird15 · 05/06/2015 05:46

Welcome pepperpot - From another insomniac! Congratulations on your happy scan news.

Fizzie100 · 05/06/2015 07:15

Welcome pepper!
