Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Awww Tee you're having such a rough time of it. No wonder you're turning to beige food Smile

Some HCPs have no idea how to speak to a pregnant woman or a human they just don't get how much worry and anxiety they can cause!

I'm sure tinyTee is just getting comfy, hope that mans less discomfort for you too.

Unmumsnetty hugs

Hey viroids!

Hope you're ok mini, so glad things are progressing! You must be tired but I'm glad you're getting to take it easy a bit despite the contractions. Don't forget to keep eating and drinking to keep your energy up.

splodge get bouncing! You need a back up just in case the whole teleporting thing goes awry.

I refuse to put these pom poms away until someone has a baby! kato you must be getting excited too :D

catsofa is also due now so we'll hopefully hear how she gets on on Facebook.

My due date would've been the 13th May with my rainbow baby, so I'm feeling a bit funny about the next few weeks, but I'm focussing on getting excited for when it's my turn.

tee I'm sending you some very unmumsnetty hugs because it sounds like you need some. Nothing wrong with crying into scotch eggs, I cried into a bowl of pasta last week and had much less of a reason than you to do so. I know baby can engage then unengage, but I'm no expert! Hopefully he will stay put for now. You've had a rotten time of it. If it helps some ladies in my fit mummy class had SPD and various other pregnancy issues and went to delivery room on crutches. The minute that baby popped out they said the problems disappeared. Bloody hormones! Take it easy lovely.

pixie that sounds very frustrating! I do agree that they can't refuse you a CS if you had a horrific first birth. My mate was very adament she wanted a CS and was worried they'd say no, but they agreed to it. How's wee one today?

purple hooray for a happy baby! Bet you're looking forward to seeing it on the screen - do you think you'll find out the flavour?

Viroids there are loads of baby events going on. Just picked up a Grobag from Boots for £17 and they also have lots of clothes on sale. Tesco have a baby event on and I just got 2 tubes (60g) of Bepanthan for £4, less than buying the 50g one. Emma's diary has some good deals on this week but I don't need any of the stuff that's on offer.

Anyone else using Burt's Bees Mama Bee cream on their bellies? I love it and the midwife remarked that the skin on my bump is all nice and soft and smooth, I would totally recommend it.

I've lost the ability to reach my feet so my dh had to put my socks on for me today. He thought it was hilarious then to tuck my trousers into them, knowing full well I can't do anything about it unless I sit down and pull my feet up. Not meant to do that because it puts pressure on my hips. I need to book in for a wax - no idea what's going on down there because I can't see it but I'm sure it must be due...

I'm so excited because I'm having my pregnancy massage tomorrow. My shoulders and back are all achy and I'm so looking forward to someone making it all better. Dh is great at massaging my legs but he does get bored after a few minutes, whilst I could happily sit there for hours!

Went for scrambled eggs and salmon on toast with my friend at a posh tea shop in town because I've got day off work today. Felt like an utter luxury. I had to buy dh a present because it's our cotton anniversary on Monday. Bought him a Heisenburg (Breaking Bad) baby grow for a laugh :-) I hope he likes it. We don't have a lot of money so we're just getting jokey presents and going up to London for the night. Booked a very cheap hotel (with no window in the room) so that we can afford to have a nice meal out.

God I'm rabbiting. Sorry.

Oh yeah - and new bfp on JSers! Gouda will hopefully be joining us soon! I think niff had a bfp this morning also but it was faint so she's going to poafrer to check.

Purpleball · 01/05/2015 17:28

La I love your long posts. Do you make notes? By the time the Post screen comes up on the app I've forgotten who I wanted to say what to Grin
Baby brain strikes again cos I didn't have a crap memory before

We're not finding out the flavour Smile as time goes on the more convinced I am that I want a surprise. We're getting boy and girl clothes from my brother so it will be fine. I bought some neutral first size stuff.

Only 4 more days to work til 2 weeks in cornwall. I'm definitely ready for a break and a rest Smile

After we get back from holiday then we have to clear the spare room out. Then clear my office out. Then move my desk etc into the spare room. Then we can start buying baby things and sort it's room out.

I've told DH that I want the nursery ready by early August. It's not due til 22/9 but 35 weeks is 11/8 and I think it could be any time after that if my BP is high so I want to be ready for it.

I'm going to use La's list and work out what we need from where in the meantime.

Going out for steak tonight for my besties birthday. I might have a tiny bit of wine to celebrate halfway and a baby's heart scan Smile

Hi viroids

I typed a huge long post but the internet ate it Sad we have such bad broadband where we are. BT are my nemesis.

"Call BT" has been on DH's to do list for about a year Hmm

TFI Friday and 3 days off! YEY! I really need this long weekend.

Going cot shopping tomorrow Grin I am still dead keen on the stokke sleepi but whether DH will loosen the purse strings is another matter.

I am also being sent out on my own with instructions to come back with a car seat.

Out for dinner tonight, pizza!! I am drooling at the thought Smile

Hope all is well mini and splodge

Sounds like you are having a rough time tee hope things improve

Purpleball · 01/05/2015 17:50

Fleur if I type a long one I copy it just in case...I've lost too many posts!

Exciting shopping for you this weekend though :-)

We've got the Tour de Yorkshire coming past our village so we'll have a walk up and watch it go past

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 01/05/2015 18:12

Ha! If I post on phone I write a bit, copy it, go back to thread and read, then go back again to write some more, copy it etc... bit of a trek but I like making sure I respond to folk. If I'm on the computer I type it into notepad and copy across which is much easier.

I've loved knowing the flavour but we haven't told anyone, so to everyone else it's a big secret which is lovely. They are all saving us their stuff - whichever the colour, but I've said I actually prefer gender neutral anyways. Some of them are sneaky and try to get it out of me, but most are respectful that we want to keep it to ourselves. Oh yes - those of you who are friends with me on Facebook please please don't let on that you know!

I'm like you - I like to get everything sorted early. I'm 30 weeks this week and we've painted nursery and bought all the major stuff, but we need to start putting the nursery together properly. Dh has a friend who restores old furniture. He's found me a little rocking chair which he is going to restore and paint for me. It's gorgeous! I'll need to get a wee cushion for the bum and back - it's properly like an old fashion little nursery chair. We like vintage style and live in a very bland house, so we like to try to find stuff that will make it more lively. Our house in Scotland was full of vintage furniture, but none of it fits in this house so it's in storage. Still need to find a chest of drawers and then we can do nursery - I can't put stickers on walls until I know where the drawers will go. The space we've got for it is narrow so we need them to be tall and slim, which is a rare find.

Have fun tonight purple

fleur enjoy your shopping tomorrow! We bought our cot bed from someone on a local Facebook group. It's in excellent condition and we got it for £40 I think - it's a mamas and papas rialto.

Just had a lie down because I was exhausted. I've started taking the spatone iron drink today - I took it with orange juice and it tasted fine. I hope it's going to help me to have a bit more energy.

Ewuakua · 01/05/2015 19:33

Hello, I'm a little slow to join the party
Name: Ewu
DC: 6 week pea-sized baby and a needy cat

Sorry to hear some viroids have been having a frustrating time with midwives and long waits.

I've been feeling horrible today, proper headache and nausea and my first vom this morning Angry Had such a shit week at work with my douche-bag manager so decided to have a sick-day. Why doesn't maternity leave cover pregnancy too??

DulcetMoans · 01/05/2015 20:54

Welcome ewu! Sorry you feel shit. Can you get sick leave day wiped when you tell them you are pregnant?

tee, come back and tell us you have eaten scotch eggs, napped and stopped crying. Don't be sad lovely, you just have shit midwives! Would say you should bring it up but hard if you never see same one twice!

Fab scan news purple! Another milestone and step closer!

Enjoy the cot shop fleur, hopefully easier than prams!

Excellent anniversary present la, sure he will love it. What does the spatone taste that? Wondering if I can have that instead of tablets...

DH went to shops. Asked if I wanted anything. I said raspberry magnums. He bought mint. Divorce? (He thought I just wanted ice cream, not that I wanted to try those specific ones. And he doesn't follow instructions well)

Sounds like you are all having exciting dinners tonight!

Toast85 · 01/05/2015 20:59

Delurking to say eeeeeewwww mint icecream. Wrong. Definitely make him sleep in the shed.

Eeeeeewwww

I'll read back on what I've missed and post for real later.

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/05/2015 21:10

Sorry viroids I'm a bit crap at keeping on top of Freds, just caught up on number 26, THANK YOU for all the warm welcomes!

Whoever thought up this Fred title is genius - no word of a lie I've had three raspberry magnums this week! DH is out on the piss and I'm EXHAUSTED so have stuffed my face tonight with the following: pizza, sensations, bitsa wispa. Now I feel sick.

Is anyone else who's pre-12-week scan going mad with having to keep it quiet? I'm rubbish and tell everyone everything so I'm finding it really hard, I've been so irritable in work I just wish they knew so I had an excuse ha!

On a uni reunion day/night out on Sunday and already got my antibiotics excuse in place. Luckily I think they've actually bought it as I did recently have four wisdom teeth removed so making out its related to that.

Those of you going baby shopping this weekend ENJOY!!!! Not jealous at all!

Toast85 · 01/05/2015 21:27

My stats, late, soz!

Toast
29
Upduffed with Dc 1 currently 15+6 (so basically 16 woop) and astounded by how much mini-bump is growing. Ok i knew it happened to pregnant ladies but it's so cool it's happening to me! And weird too.

So I'm gonna say something maybe a little controversial here. Raspberry magnums.. They're ok. I had my first yesterday. It was.. Nice. Ok. Pleasant even. But not a patch on a white choc magnum! There, I said it. Do with me what you will viroids.

Purple, great scan news!
Hope you and fleur both had nice evenings out.

Mini, well done you sound like you're so calm! I'm be climbing the walls I'm sure!

Splodge, to knick a phrase from Bruce... keeeeeep bouncing!

Tee, hope you feel better by now and scotch eggs helped.

Toast85 · 01/05/2015 21:44

Well done la for keeping baby flavour a secret. I can't decide whether or not I want to know (20wk scan in 1 month today!)
Did any viroids decide to have a surprise and then wish they had known later down the line? I really thought I'd want to find out but the closer it gets the more unsure I am!

DulcetMoans · 01/05/2015 22:31

Whoa whoa whoa, mint icecream is still lush toast! It's a great combination! Can't speak for the raspberry icecreams yet. If you aren't sure about finding out you can always ask them to write it down and you can take it home to give you more time to decide - and change your mind!

The first 12 weeks do drag looking but it will all speed up after that.

Fleurchamp · 01/05/2015 22:40

I kind of wish I knew toast I just can't picture the baby, I think it might help with bonding? also I keep seeing cute clothes and can't buy them yet

I am so full of pizza Blush need to stay awake for an hour to digest it now.

Cot and car seat are the only new things we are buying and even then the grandparents are itching to buy them for us. We are extremely lucky.

Hobbit19 · 01/05/2015 22:41

Sorry Viroids, it's a blurgh to icecream from me Sad you can tell that DH'S genes are in my body, no icecream or chocolate, boooo.

Looking I am finding it difficult to keep secret too, feel a bit like I'm lying to friends/family. Did some serupticious (sp?) With DH tonight as had the in laws round for tea.

Hobbit19 · 01/05/2015 22:43

That should say 'wine glass swapping'!

Purpleball · 01/05/2015 23:46

Thanks for the lovely comments. I'm excited about 20w scan next week as we will see more Smile

Had a lovely evening out, restaurant even did me a bowl of fruit as I couldn't face any other desserts Smile I'm total stuffed now and DH is a bit pissed and will be snoring soon!

My friend drank a bottle of wine to herself, normally I'd have done the same. Instead I had a 125ml glass of red as a treat. She was pisssed too! I was designated driver

I found it hard to keep quiet too. Even now I tell anyone and everyone when it's really not necessary.

OP posts:
WilHarlot · 02/05/2015 07:36

Ah we can no longer have a glass of wine and then drive up here Purple, sad times.

God anyone else feel sorry for Kate Middleton? I feel bad enough for Mini with all us lot waiting to hear the news, never mind the world's media.

I'm getting election rage, can't wait until it's over.

rm00054 · 02/05/2015 07:41

RM
25
32+2 and currently getting kicked all over everywhere all the time!

I did a rubbish job of keeping up with the last thread, so hi and congrats to all the newly upduffed Smile

After boasting this week that I'm finding 3rd trimester easy sailing and symptom free I had a really rubbish night's sleep and have been up since 5am. Really hoping this isn't the start of pregnancy insomnia.

Saw the midwife last week, she said I had a Toni while she was prodding me, I hadn't even realised that's what it was, I thought it was just one of wriggley-baby's many movements! Since then I've noticed I have them at least 4 times a day. Is it normal to have this many so early?!

rm00054 · 02/05/2015 07:44

I love seeing your bump pics on fb group. Have been meaning to do one for you all since 20weeks but keep forgetting! It shall be my bank holiday weekend job Smile

LaLaLaaaa · 02/05/2015 08:18

RM! Lovely to see you Grin sorry you're having sleep troubles too, I don't sleep much at all and it's taking its toll a bit.

Do post a pic!

Poor Kate I know - bad enough having folk asking 'any news!?' When you're overdue without whole world watching and folk camped outside. Don't get the camping outside thing at all!

I've realised this morning that I've not pooed in about 5 days. Might need to crack out the lactulose :(

I've not tried raspberry magnums yet! I do love a white magnum though, mmmm...

LaLaLaaaa · 02/05/2015 08:19

Toni's are normal I seem to get them at odd times of day. I'm also get kicked like a football!

Fleurchamp · 02/05/2015 08:23

All this talk of magnums is making me want one. For breakfast.

We have a little ice cream shop near where we live, all homemade and delicious. Never know what flavour they will have made that day. But DH told me I can't have it Shock because it's not made with pasteurised cream.

I have to walk past this shop all the time. I think I deserve all the magnums.

Terrible night here too. Indigestion caused by greediness. Up at 4.30 and back to sleep what felt like 5 mins before my alarm

DulcetMoans · 02/05/2015 08:30

You do deserve the magnums fleur, that's a killer if you have to walk past it! You should go in and triple check in case it is pasteurised and DH is wrong!

Hey rm, get your arse in here! You're in the late June/early July club. This place will be full of babies!

What's the rage wil? I get election rage too but I secretly love it.

That's gonna be an epic poo la. You might need a day off!

I have my all day baby school today. NHS one - birth and beyond. I'm guess the one where I find out how the hell this thing gets out! Not a great night sleep but managed to get comfy the last hour or so and then stupid alarm went off! Had a dream it was tee birthday though, is it?!

Phone told me about Common Kate's labour first thing this morning. It's a lot of pressure for her but not unexpected I guess. Any vets on what she might have? I'll go boy again.

LaLaLaaaa · 02/05/2015 08:30

Purple I hate it when folk get wasted out for dinner with me. I can't drink because I'm pregnant, it's really not nice for me to also put up with you being plastered!

Spatone tasted fine with oj it has metallic taste but the oj masks it plus helps it be absorbed by body.
