penny I got this kind of pain in 13 week I think, and am again getting it now. I don't take anything for it but warm baths help. Have had to get up at night to run baths!

Am having my first acupuncture session today, with an acupuncturist who specialises in pregnancy discomforts. Hope it will hell a bit. I have also noticed my constipation sometimes triggers back pain on the left.

Hope you get good news today stalph.

Dp has given me his stinky cold so now I have that on top of the nausea and a headache which paracetamol isn't touching Sad

I'm getting backache already. I got it later on last time but then I was refusing to carry anything heavier than a bag of sugar whereas now I regularly carry a chunky toddler around so not really surprising. I'm hoping to start doing some yoga once I have the energy.

Apologies for the whingey post Blush

TwoBeesInTheHive · 15/05/2015 09:53

focus I'd be interested to hear what your gp says about the bad backache, mine has eased off a bit this past week, but it was completely crippling for weeks before that. I put it down to everything growing in there.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/05/2015 09:58

I got a great maternity bundle off freecycle last pregnancy, although I know freecycle isn't very active in some areas.
Preloved second hand website and also Facebook selling groups (lots of mum and baby ones) are a good place to look for bundles and also toys etc later on

ChicBabyP · 15/05/2015 11:01

Thinking of you stalph, really hope you get an answer today and don't have to wait all weekend. I would call and bug them....

I'm another one with the lower back and hip pain as well as tension headaches. I have weak core muscles in general so the pregnancy isn't making it easier for me. I've been doing some core muscle exercises but not sure if it's ok during pregnancy...I'm seeing a physiotherapist next week so will see what she says I can and cannot do for the pain. I'll let you know if she has any bright ideas to get us through the next 6 months with minimum pain [wishful thinking]

And now for the whinge: As I was still waiting for the results from the Harmon test, almost 3 weeks later, I decided to call again and see what's going on. Again they tell me they'll call when results are in but I told them it's already 3 weeks and maybe they should chase the lab or something!!! SO they put me on hold, and 5min later come back on and tell me "oh, your results are here, don't know why noone called you!". Needless to say I was fuming!!!Angry. Thankfully, all is well with the results, but I am still angry!
So in my opinion, if you are waiting for a call back, don't bother. Just call them yourself and be firm and insistent, clearly that's the only way...
Whinge over!

annatha · 15/05/2015 14:34

Another with backache here. It's my lower back, it hasn't really been great since I had dd but my lower back and hips are seriously aching. I suffered with it much later in my last pg but like snozzberrypie I was refusing to lift anything remotely heavy, whereas now I'm always lugging dd around, her car seat, her buggy... I'm trying to focus on bending properly etc but the lifting is just unavoidable.

PooSweats84 · 15/05/2015 14:53

Argh! Just got a load of clothes I'd ordered online and none of it fits! Got the hassle of having to return it all now, and desperately try and find stuff to replace it! It all fit lovely over my bump but was all big and baggy up top (dresses). Retailers know that your baby only grows in your tummy right?!

annatha · 15/05/2015 15:29

poosweats (I love your name btw!) I'm having that problem. I found that a lot of pg tops are breastfeeding tops too and every breastfeeding top I've tried has been so ridiculously low cut that I might as well just be walking around in my bra.

10twinkle10 · 15/05/2015 15:36

Had my scan and baby is fine thankfully, no explanation for the bleeding. Such a relief to see the baby moving around and a nice strong heartbeat.

To celebrate I've ordered five pairs of maternity jeans in the hope that one looks ok! Also ordered a dress for a party next week as all my normal stuff either fits funny or doesn't fit at all.

Would someone mind updating my due date on the stats please it's moved from 16th to the 22nd. Thank you

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/05/2015 15:37

I have that trouble Poo even though I have small bump pregnancies I'm still pretty much all bump. Retailers seem to assume that my arms / bum / etc have stretched as well

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 15/05/2015 16:00

I've left messages with anyone I can think of, but no call back.

And DP has left now, so looks like just me to try and keep myself sane for the weekend. Sad

Good news, twinkle!

annatha · 15/05/2015 16:08

stalphonsos that's awful of them to tell you 3-4 days and then leave you hanging over the weekend. If you were just waiting for something minor it would be bad enough but with a test like this surely they should understand how much stress you're under? Hopefully you'll have some answers soon Flowers

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/05/2015 16:23

Oh StAlph I'm so sorry you're having to wait.

Karmanna13 · 15/05/2015 16:43

Grr, that is so crap stalphonsos. Really hope you hear soon! xxx

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 15/05/2015 16:44

They said 2-3 days so I've been on high alert since Wednesday, it's exhausting!

I'm just so anxious about it. Fifteen weeks tomorrow and I don't yet know if I'm having a baby or a termination or what. It's getting harder and harder to hide at work, too.

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 15/05/2015 16:46

I should say all the staff I've dealt with have been incredibly supportive and lovely, which is great.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/05/2015 17:03

What was your risk factor? Do you know of it was based on the nuchal fold or blood or both?
Sorry, I'm not trying to make a diagnosis. I know if it was me, I would be trying to work out if I should be reassuring myself or preparing for the worst. Certainly with my mmc, I found it best to assume the worst between scans as hope can be such a difficult thing. Not the same situation at all though.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/05/2015 17:04

Sorry, that was a pointless and unhelpful comment.

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 15/05/2015 17:10

No, of course - I understand. It's a combined risk (1:20) based on variations in my NT result, and my bloods, but magnified by my age (40). So basically as far as I can tell, each result individually would be fine but in combination the picture isn't tremendously great.

I am positive, generally speaking - I just feel like every day I am totally psyched up for it to happen, and then....nothing. And now I am going to spend the weekend alone, without anyone to talk to. My DP has been such an amazing support, it's hard now he's gone.

Heather101 · 15/05/2015 17:30

Hi ladies! I've been following this thread got a while but first time I have post! Just had my 12 week scan today and all looks good! Such a relief as was convinced something was wrong! My stats are 37, first baby after a miscarriage last year and due 17th Nov!

Heather101 · 15/05/2015 17:32

Here's our scan pic!

Heather101 · 15/05/2015 17:33

Hope you get news soon StAlph xx

TakesTwoToTango · 15/05/2015 17:53

Argh stalph. I really feel for you. I can't believe you are still waiting! We will all be here for you over the weekend. A poor substitute for dp I know, but something at least and please don't hesitate to use us!

I got my maternal/fetal dna blood test results - all clear for major chromosomal abnormality - phew! Have another scan at 16 weeks to check for things they can't blood test for (I'm high risk for issues) and a later blood test for spina bifida etc but am so relieved! Oh and also, we're team pink Grin my dd is going to be soooo excited!! GrinGrin

Gr33dyeggs · 15/05/2015 17:58

That is really poor stalphonso! Even if the results aren't ready I would have thought they could have called to explain under the circumstances. Perhaps a box set marathon to try and keep you busy over the weekend.

I had my 16 week mw appt today which went well. I heard and recorded the heartbeat at her suggestion. No more contact with them until 28 weeks!
