Pyjama so sorry to hear your news.Flowers

Abbey I found the postnatal ward similarly awful and was also planning to make a complaint but by the time I got to the point where I could think about it all without crying, I just wanted to put it out of my mind. I'm really hoping to avoid it all by having a homebirth this time.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/05/2015 17:53

Snozzberry I think most women that have a bad experience are the same, I couldn't complain at the time as in the middle of it, and now I've moved on ( and they've 'lost' my notes). A home birth sounds lovely. A friend of mine had a great experience with it. Unfortunately for me it's the ward again - wasn't allowed to even look at the birth centre leaflet!

stace1986 · 13/05/2015 18:46

My downs screening came back as 1 in 21142 which seems very precise. It just said i was low risk no other information. I assume that is all ok then!

flyingsprocket · 13/05/2015 19:21

So so sorry pyjama

stace that's it, low risk, no further tests or anything required. Mine was 1 in 536 which is still low risk, I think my age is the biggest risk factor (36)

I tried to change my first consultant appointment which is next Thursday as I want to sneak away with DP somewhere. They moved it two days earlier on the phone, I was all delighted, even started packing! Then they rang me back to say I need to see that consultant because of their speciality. Dunno what the speciality is but now I'm very curious!!

stace1986 · 13/05/2015 19:27

Thanks flying. :) I assumed it meant all ok but a bit more info on the letter would of been nice!

I have a consultant appt too at a rubbish time so going to try and change that tomorrow!

Told work now, seems like everyone just wants to tell you about awful birth stories when they find out your expecting! Why is that?! Annoying!

rebbles · 13/05/2015 19:27

Really really sorry to hear that pyjama. X

Frescoed · 13/05/2015 19:40

So sorry for you pyjama, take care of yourself Flowers

bugoven · 13/05/2015 20:12

pyjama I'm so sorry, all that time worrying and now this sad news. Hope you have lots of love and support to help you through this Thanks

bugoven · 13/05/2015 20:16

Abbey I would love to have a natural, drug free, in the water and at home birth but I am high risk and probably am going to have to fight for anything other than a closely monitored ward birth. I habe my VBAC appointment 7th July, same day as my 20 week scan. Last time I was still asking for my water birth as they wheeled me down to theatre for my emcs so I reckon asking then is fine Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/05/2015 20:20

That was my plan too bugoven but I got the opposite. Still the end result was worth it and I don't know why I was anti drugs, the drugs were amazing Grin

CoffeeTwo · 13/05/2015 20:32

Hello all! Just off to catch up now but thought I'd post my scan picture! 12+2 today so will need to update the stats. It was so lovely to see baby just chilling out in my womb! But the little scamp would NOT get in the right position for the nuchal measurements, she just couldn't get them even after trying internal. So we have no results! I guess that's life, nothing is guaranteed. They said they can do a blood test at 14 weeks that is less accurate so we'll give that a go.

roughtyping · 13/05/2015 20:37

I love seeing all the scan pictures - they're so cute, it's ridiculous!

BlueBananas · 13/05/2015 20:41

Thanks Blue it is quite stressful but I'm trying to stay positive and all if the positive bleeding stories on here do really help Smile
I haven't had any baby reassurance since my 13 week scan but I've got another one in the morning so fingers crossed! I'll hopefully get some answers tomorrow too...hopefully! Still having all the symptoms and my body is definitely changing so that's a good sign!

So sorry for your loss pyjamas Flowers
