Good idea focus, need a distinctive name for group tho...... However I'm shit at making them up!

Karmanna13 · 13/05/2015 08:09

The thing is you can't search for a group that is set as secret and I think as some people haven't announced on fb it would need to be a secret group. I have just seen a feature that allows me to send invites to none fb friends but then I need your email, so I think you can either send me a pm with your email address so I can send you and invite, or send me a pm with your name and I will try and find you, befriend you and add you that way. I'm happy with either so up to you!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/05/2015 08:16

Thanks karma. With my group with dd, the admin just befriended us all I think!
Definitely needs to stay secret! I'll pm you my name.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/05/2015 08:20

Maybe check pm'd names against the stats list though? So we don't get any strangers in there!
Would be nice to keep posting here for now and gradually use fb. We are more familiar with each others user names on here. Also we don't want to exclude new people from joining the thread, but obviously for security it's better to get to know people on here first. Does that make sense?

gennibugs · 13/05/2015 08:22

waves back at mademoiselle so good to see you! Grin

I'm a member of another secret FB group and yep, all I needed to do was give my email address and one of the girls added me. She didn't need to friend me. so its definitely an option. I can always ask her the best way to set up if we're not sure Smile

Karmanna13 · 13/05/2015 08:28

Great Guybrush, I'll look out for the pm and will check against the stats list!

I think we've established that in order to keep the group secret there are two options:

  1. PM me your (fb) name and I will befriend you and add you¨
  2. PM me your email address and I will send you an invite to the group so you can join
AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/05/2015 09:01

There's loads of people with my name - I even worked with one! Hopefully email address will work Smile. Agree on it being private I haven't even told my parents yet, and work can't find out until I'm officially returned to work (so I can go again Blush)

I've been invited to a UK wedding in September a few hours away. Wondering what to do as DS was 4 weeks early. Part of me thinks I'll be fine, part of me thinks I'd be a fool to risk it after what happened last time. Might try to hold of RSVP ing until the anomaly scan?

flyingsprocket · 13/05/2015 09:07

That's funny news about your little boy focus at least you've got plenty of time to get used to the idea! I was convinced I was carrying a boy the last time & found out when I MCed that I was right. This time I'm convinced it's a girl & we'll see on June 22nd if I'm right!

I'm up for a FB group too, I'll send you my email address karmanna

flyingsprocket · 13/05/2015 09:10

We're going to a wedding in Ireland in Sept. abbey I wouldn't miss it for the world. I think you had a preemie before right?

Our friends are debating a holiday overseas when I'll be 34/35 weeks, at first I was totally up for it but now I think it's foolish to book anything as I've no idea how I'll feel and what might happen between now and then. I definitely want to go away with DP before our big arrival.

SnozzberryPie · 13/05/2015 09:53

Flying you probably won't be allowed to fly at 34 weeks.

Abbey I would do the wedding, but take your hospital bag with you and be prepared for the possibility of having the baby in the local hospital. I guess the worst case scenario would be that your dh would have to stay with friends or book a Travelodge nearby. Was your ds in scbu for long?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/05/2015 10:14

I'm not sure about traveling at 34 weeks either but I would imagine you are well placed to find out flying! Best time to go on holiday would be before about 28 weeks I think- you'd just enjoy it more before you start getting really uncomfortable!

Think I'm going to have to finish work very early and get lots of rest with this double pregnancy. Worked until 39 weeks last time.

MademoiselleG · 13/05/2015 10:25

Morning all and thank you for the warm welcome. What a lovely bunch you all are Smile
I am part of a secret fb group and like genni, only needed to PM my email to the administrator. The invite gets sent to your OTHER folder though, which caused much co fusion! You need to be on a laptop to actually see it. Definitely no need to befriend anyone -my profile is quite private due to work so I would prefer to avoid if possible?
And for those of you unsure, a secret group is just that: no one can search for it or see any updates etc or any pictures you post on it.
Oh and we also did a clever little 'pinned' post at the top of the page where everyone just write their MN username, so we always know who is who and the post is always there. Along with a document in which we put our full stats.
Can you tell I'm a bit of a fan of it?WinkWink

15 weeks today - rather big milestone! AND I found baby's heartbeat for the first time last night with my little Doppler thingy. Very surreal!

MademoiselleG · 13/05/2015 10:27

Guy you're having twins, aren't you? Definitely finish early and rest. I think you'll need of energy during and after the birth.... How incredibly exciting though!

Karmanna13 · 13/05/2015 10:34

Well the group is up and running so feel free to send me your emails (or names if you prefer I add you on fb) and come join in!

flyingsprocket · 13/05/2015 10:34

The airlines the group are planning with all allow short haul travel up til 36 weeks except for Thomas Cook which is 34. I've a very diligent friend who checked it all out! I think you're right guy it's probably too late to be comfortable lolling about like a beached whale! We'll look for something earlier.

I've joined the FB group, thanks karmanna

BlueBananas · 13/05/2015 10:45

Hello all!
I haven't been on here for ages, I am stilllll bleeding! It's been 3 weeks now, was in hospital all day yesterday and they've discovered the bleeding is coming from the neck of my womb, so I've got to go back for more tests to see if the blood is coming from higher up in the womb or not, and then if not to figure out why
So I'm in limbo a little bit ATM, don't really know what is happening and where we're going to end up!
Going to read back and see what you lot have been up to
Oh and please don't leave me and do a fb group! I'm not on fb!!

Blueblink · 13/05/2015 11:24

Ah I was wondering how you were getting on Blue buddy! So sorry to hear that you are still having a hard time, sounds awful. have they been able to reassure you that baby is OK while you've been bleeding? I've seen quite a few ladies on here mention that they've had bleeding before due to their placenta lying low? Fingerscrossed you get anwsers soon!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/05/2015 12:12

Thanks all. I couldn't get insurance for holiday in the third trimester last time, but I think that was because of my low lying placenta, otherwise I guess it'd be fine for a normal pregnancy. Personally I wouldn't go abroad in the third tri but I had a friend who had her baby abroad in the EU and it still took months to sort out passports etc, so that and my first born experience have put me off! I think it's 10% are prem so 90% chance it'd be ok for those that like stats

Because my premature birth last time was due to the placenta if that's all normal then I should go to term. Chances of a repeat are 5% which is the same as anyone that's had a section. But seeing as last time they told me it'd move I just won't believe it until I see it. Roll on 20 weeks!

Snozzberry we luckily were on the postnatal ward for 8 days. Although I realise we were so very lucky the staff knew nothing about prems and DS couldn't feed at all and lost so much weight. One midwife even threatened children's services would be called. Then about 6 days in someone read my notes and got him onto premature baby formula. They all thought he was term because he 'looked normal' and he even had some injection he wasn't supposed to have. I got an apology but I'm still fuming about it. Everyone says complain but they've lost my notes and I can't remember who said what and when I was so out of it. So I'd like an early escape this time - I'll be running for the exits as soon as the catheter is out Grin

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/05/2015 12:20

And just to reassure as I know there's some on here with the same condition. What happened to me last time (placenta moving up then back down again) was 1 in 200 chance so very rare. Most move up and stay put

dottiemad · 13/05/2015 12:40

Hi everyone,

Had my 12 weeks scan yesterday and am 12+4 so due date on 20th Nov now, can someone change the stats?

Here is a pic of my little bean:

stace1986 · 13/05/2015 13:39

Karma i Pm'ed you my email but haven't had a request, did you get my pm with email add in?

BowiesJumper · 13/05/2015 13:56

Congrats dottie! Good pic!
Welcome Mademoiselle!

I'm in that limbo land between appointments/scans and with no symptoms or bump! I'm 15+2. I've got my 16wk appointment next week so hoping to hear the heartbeat.

I did buy some maternity stuff from new look (online) which arrived yesterday - none of which I need yet but is there when I need it!

I'm up for a private fb group, will pm!

PooSweats84 · 13/05/2015 14:01

Norfolk my bump looks exactly like yours, and I'm 14+4, but just like Mademoiselle I too must have 3rd baby-itis and all my muscles have given up all hope of holding things together!

PooSweats84 · 13/05/2015 14:06

Karmanna I've pm'ed you my email addy Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/05/2015 14:07

I thought I'd be massive with my second but 16 weeks tomorrow and still in my clothes. Although I have got the maternity jeans out because I love them, even though my regular ones fit, any excuse Grin
With my 1st I was in the full maternity gear already as I was desperate to show off my (non existent) bump. This time as I'm not announcing I'm dressing more carefully.

I found the remains of my hospital bag in the attic yesterday, so that makes packing it a bit easier. Breast pads, maternity pads etc still in there in the packets. I went into hospital without one last time so I'm determined to be organised. Won't be packing just yet though!
