focus poor you. I think I saw your other thread. As everyone's said - you'll be feeling extra crap because anything good will be going to baby, I hope you're starting to feel a bit better soon

CoffeeTwo · 10/05/2015 09:31

Congratulations lady!

Last night I accidentally drank half a bottle of cider :( had some bottles of alcohol free koppaberg with another pregnant friend and an alcoholic bottle snuck in the mix and I didn't realise. I'm 11+4. Please make me feel better and tell me someone else has done similar??

Focusfocus · 10/05/2015 09:51

Thank you so much everyone! Well, 24 hours after the thing began, I've woken up feeling absolutely fine. As in - literally no signs of anything having happened, and I had to think this morning if I had dreamt it all up. Yesterday was spent on those nasty oral fluid thingies and lots of water. For dinner I had a bit of hot clear soup and a teensy bit of mash. Fell asleep for the night and voila, this morning all is cool! Sincerely hope these 24 hours wouldn't have done babe any harm.

Thanks so much for sharing your stories and support!

Congratulations Lady! That was us in feb 2014 and what an exciting year it has been since then- enjoy this moment!

coffee baby will be fine. Lots of women still drink a glass of wine I think every so often. I was a massively irresponsible teenager when I had DS1 and didn't find out til late on that I was pregnant and no harm came to him - our bodies are amazing

flyingsprocket · 10/05/2015 10:58

Congrats lady that's so exciting!

Glad you're feeling better focus

coffee the baby will be absolutely fine, if we worried about every small toxin we ingested because of our growing babies we'd be living on homemade bread & filtered water. I know it's an emotive subject but I had half a glass of wine last night over at a friend's house with dinner, I told myself I would have a teeny bit every once in a while after the first trimester. I completely understand when people say why would you bother, it's only nine months but everyone's perception of risk & what's acceptable is different.

Like rough said there are babies born every day to women who didn't know they were pregnant & were drinking/not taking folic acid/eating unpasteurised cheeses/bungee jumping and their babies are fine!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 10/05/2015 11:34

Coffee I'm guessing that's about 1 unit? I'm not sure what the current advice is but last pregnancy it was that a couple of units a week was ok. I tend not to myself but will have things like a champagne toast at a wedding as it's the odd special occasion and not every day. So I guess I have a couple of units per pregnancy!

LadyStark · 10/05/2015 12:20

Thanks everyone. I had a small glass of champagne to celebrate and I would not worry about half a bottle of cider. Remember that they used to recommend a pint of Guinness a day! Grin

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 10/05/2015 12:42

Haha I was anaemic last pregnancy and a Guinness for my iron was suggested by a family member! I got a prescription instead Grin

flyingsprocket · 10/05/2015 13:37

Yummmmmmm Guinness!

CoffeeTwo · 10/05/2015 16:25

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling fine about it now it just freaked me out a bit when I realised! I'll be glad to be out of the first trimester when I can hopefully relax a bit more :)

SnozzberryPie · 10/05/2015 17:23

Coffee I'm feeling too sick to drink at the moment but once it passes I'll probably have a small glass of wine every now and then, there's no evidence it causes any harm in small amounts.

TakesTwoToTango · 10/05/2015 17:26

Could someone update me too please. My dd is now 15/11. Thanks Smile

Karmanna13 · 10/05/2015 18:22

Woo, congratulations lady!

I wouldn't worry about a little drink. I am going to see a friend in Vienna at the end of May and I am going to allow myself a couple of glasses of wine over the weekend. And also at a wedding in July. I had the occasional drink during my last pregnancy and all was fine. I think in France they even recommend pregnant women to have a glass of wine every other day! :)

Karmanna13 · 10/05/2015 18:27

Argh, carpal tunnel syndrome has started for me already! Had it really bad when pg with ds but not until the third trimester! Really hope it won't last for the rest of my pregnancy.

roughtyping · 10/05/2015 19:03

karma what does it feel like? I've been getting a numb left hand which then feels 'buzzy' but it's not carpal tunnel, the physio did tell me what it was but ive forgotten Blush something I get anyway not just in pregnancy IYSWIM

I won't be drinking while pregnant but that's because I only like rum and vodka and I think that would seem much worse than a glass of wine/a cider etc!

Karmanna13 · 10/05/2015 19:21

It's numbness and tingling in my hands and sometimes my whole arms, especially if I'm in bed. Last time I had to wear a hand brace on my left hand as it got quite weak. It hasn't got that bad yet but still uncomfortable.

flyingsprocket · 11/05/2015 07:02

Gah, I've been awake since before 0500 & today was supposed to be a lazy lie in type day.

Thinking of you today stalphonsos I hope the procedure goes ok & fingers crossed for the result x

mrscatmad31 · 11/05/2015 07:15

I've got a midwife appointment tomorrow, will be nearly 14 weeks, should I ring up and move it to two weeks time as think it's supposed to be my 16 week check up (my dates moved by a week)

roughtyping · 11/05/2015 07:29

karma sorry to hear that - really hope it lessens a bit. Things like that are a bugger!

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 11/05/2015 08:21

Thanks so much flyingsprocket we're doing OK and fingers crossed it will all work out. Smile

LadyStark · 11/05/2015 08:23

Finger crossed and sending good wishes from me too StAlphonsos.
