Mine was worse in the second tri last time Poo I remember puking before the 20 week scan. 15 weeks today and still a little but I think I'm lucky compared to pregnancy #1!

PooSweats84 · 07/05/2015 12:02

I was starting to feel smug that I'd got away with it this time too! Glad it's normal though at least! Baking myself some rolls now, hoping I can keep them down for a little while, I'm absolutely starving now!

PooSweats84 · 07/05/2015 12:02

Hope I can control myself at the polling station later too, that could be quite embarrassing!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 12:37

I was getting smug around week 8/9 - that backfired! Although I was also worried I felt too well and that meant something was wrong. I'm getting much better now though...hopefully... Don't want to jinx it!

This pregnancy is so different to my first I'm wondering if it's a girl. I know the old wives tales are rubbish bit it is fun, what do you think?
With DS very bad sickness week 5-20. This time 8-14 (hopefully) and not as bad
DS no cravings. This time craving sweets
Bump about same size and place
DS very spotty, skin a bit better this time (not as good as no pregnancy though!)
DS very hairy although I'm hairy anyway so hard to tell. This time I'd say normal hair growth.
Baby on scan - DS kind of chilled, this one doing somersaults

Poppyninja · 07/05/2015 13:44

Reaaaaally struggling in work today. Can't concentrate, just thinking of all things I want to do at home and bits I want to buy! Help

In other news got a new car last night. Finally got rid of my shitheap and have a shiny new family car. It's getting real!!!!! Eek

NewMrsX · 07/05/2015 14:13

Just got a call from the hospital with the cvs results... All clear! Baby doesn't have downs or the other two common trisomies. I was so relieved I cried at the poor woman on the phone. Dh is at work so I just rang him, he wants me to carry on taking it easy for a few days yet so as not to chance anything going wrong.

We also found out the sex, we're having a boy! If all went smoothly we weren't going to find out but when all this happened I changed my mind. I would have been happy to not know still but when they asked me before the cvs dh said it was up to me but I could see he wanted to know. He's been so brilliant although stressed over this whole pregnancy due to the high downs risk and my previous ectopic that I wanted to do something for him to help him bond. Although I knew as soon as I looked at the 12 week scan it was a boy, just a feeling I got when I looked at the screen.

Thank you for all the support I've received on here and hope you're doing well stalphonso

PooSweats84 · 07/05/2015 14:26

Good to hear newmrs hoping the rest of pregnancy goes smoothly for you

Blueblink · 07/05/2015 14:51

Absolutley over the mooon for you NewMrsX

BowiesJumper · 07/05/2015 14:51

That's amazing news NewMrs! And a boy! Aww.

We're not going to find out I don't think.

Dixiebell · 07/05/2015 14:56

Excellent news, MrsX, such a relief and how exciting that you know the sex. How do they tell? Is it to do with boy/girl hormones? [Clueless]

My scan is a week today. Time is dragging. Today I am SOOO feeling lots of kicks. I'm absolutely sure that's what it is. But feeling slightly anxious that maybe I've totally miscalculated somehow...because I'm only 11 weeks, how can I feel it so well? And have been for a couple of weeks...combined with the fact my bump is so noticeable (I'm sure I caught my colleague checking it out yesterday, though she didn't say anything) have this strange fear I'll get to the scan and they'll say I'm a month ahead of where I think I am! Even though I know my LMP was 15 Feb, and I know the date we DTD (it's a rare occurrence these days with 2 kids!). But maybe I've gone a bit mad and totally missed a month of my life..?!?! Hmm Confused

Focusfocus · 07/05/2015 15:01

On holiday with rubbish internet, but just to say newmrsx that's absolutely wonderful news!!

We are in most active today...anyone a bit distracted from work..? Grin

PooSweats84 · 07/05/2015 15:20

Dixie an Amnio looks at the structure of baby's DNA so from that they can see what the sex is. I've been feeling a few definite 'kicks' aswell, maybe it's because we know what to look out for? I'm stuck in waiting for a gas engineer to arrive so not much else to do than to mooch around on Mumsnet! Lots of scans and results happening aswell by the looks of things!

PooSweats84 · 07/05/2015 15:23

My bump has been noticeable from what seems like the moment I got my bfp at 6 weeks! Back then it was all gas and bloat but it's slowly hardening up now and my belly button is starting to push out more and more! It's been a nightmare trying to hide it from people! Had a scan last week but am still hiding it from most people as some family members are out of the country til the weekend and don't want them accidentally finding out through others!

TakesTwoToTango · 07/05/2015 15:24

And I'm trying to distract myself from today's resurgence in nausea blurgh!

tootsroots · 07/05/2015 15:27

MrsX WAHHH!!! Best news for yo, congrats on the news and little boy!!!

Karmanna13 · 07/05/2015 15:39

Yay, MrsX, so so pleased for you!!! Now put your feet up and relax and start thinking of baby boy names!! Grin

SnozzberryPie · 07/05/2015 16:10

Newmrs excellent news Flowers

Dixie was your last period completely normal? I ask because with dd I had an implantation bleed just before my period was due. It only lasted a day and was much lighter than a period though.

In other news, cadburys cream eggs are great for nausea Grin

BowiesJumper · 07/05/2015 16:18

On that subject, we have NO idea on boy's names. We have a couple of girl's names locked down - but I'm a bit luke warm on most boy's names and the one I do love, my husband doesn't like! BOOO!

Crumbelina · 07/05/2015 16:20

Ah, lovely news NewMrs - so exciting that you're having a boy! Based on my scan photo (so therefore no evidence at all) I think I'm having a girl. Just over 4 weeks to go to the 20 week scan so I'll know then.

Toots, full-time work is a bloody pain at times. I have to be really on the ball at work and the first trimester was so difficult, I'm not sure how I got through it. I worked on a report until 1-2am last week which was a challenge to say the least.

roughtyping · 07/05/2015 16:28

Lovely news on the thread today Smile

I've been feeling ill for past couple of days, headache and nausea and general cold-y feelings, ready for it to go!

Karmanna13 · 07/05/2015 16:38

Bowie we were the same for dc1. Had a list as long as my arm for girls names and I was so sure we were having a girl we didn't bother thinking about boy names. Of course he was a boy so we had a bit of a panic finding a name we both liked. I'm better prepared this time and have a shortlist of names for both boy and girl and a few that would work for both!

Dixiebell · 07/05/2015 16:39

Snozz, yes it was normal iirc! I think it's just a bit of paranoia. It's lovely to feel kicks, don't get me wrong! It was one of the things that I kept thinking I'd 'miss' when I was trying to decide whether to go for DC3...the thought of never feeling that again was a strong factor!

On names, I think if it is DS3 for us, I will need help with boy names. It was hard enough deciding on the first two, I think I have used up all my inspiration...now girls names, I have a looong list (although DSis unknowingly stole our no.1 choice whilst we were pushing out all these boys..!) Grin
