I too am due on Friday 13th Smile Let's make it a lucky day girls!

Lovely scan pics and news on the thread today, it's cheered me right up. Must. Stop. Looking. At. Election. Updates.

My girl name is 100% sorted and has been since I was 16 Grin. Our boy name is 95% certain. Who knows how it would go if I went for round two. I found thinking of girls' names so much easier, which was annoying as mine is sorted!

roughtyping · 07/05/2015 17:20

I've loved thinking about names. DHs choices have been v conservative! Mine not so much. Pretty sure what a girl's name will be - it's something from Lord of the Rings which ive loved since I was about 15. Not Galadriel or Arwen or anything mental though Wink

DH not keen on having a middle name but I love them and there will DEFINITELY be one!

TakesTwoToTango · 07/05/2015 17:29

You are such an organized bunch thinking about names already! My DH hates the process of choosing names so much that he won't even discuss it until after 20 weeks when we know the gender as at least then he's not wasting mental energy considering names for the wrong sex!

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 07/05/2015 17:40

Newmrs I am so so pleased for you! Wonderful news.

I have a CVS scheduled for Monday, the hospital were brilliant, I felt very looked after.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 18:12

Boys names are so hard aren't they? It was difficult enough with DS, in fact we had one picked and then we completely changed it when we saw him! I've still got the boy's name I was going to call DS but bizarrely I'm not sure about it now

Arwen is nice I think rough but we do go for Welsh names in our house even though we live in England. My mum told me DS's name was too Welsh though...and she's Welsh Confused

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 18:14

Glad you've got booked in StAlphonsos and not too long to wait, although I imagine it must feel like ages

TakesTwoToTango · 07/05/2015 18:29

Glad the hospital are looking after you stalph. Very best of luck for Monday.

TwoBeesInTheHive · 07/05/2015 19:03

dixiebell I've been thinking the same! either there's two in there or I'm a month ahead of what I think! there's no way I should be this big (I already have the pregnancy waddle!!) it's a very noticeable bump I can't hide it. plus feeling movement and kicks from 9 weeks is crazy early! also I had sickness really early compared to my other two, and I got a bfp at 3.5 weeks! whereas I didn't get one til 6ish weeks with both the others! somethings not right!

cupcakesam84 · 07/05/2015 19:07

Yay mrsx congratulations GrinGrin
Working ft is a blooming nightmare at the mo! I must confess I've had a few early finishes just cos I needed to go to bed! We had 3 boys & 3 girls names & I loved them all but dp keeps changing his mind lol!! We have middle names locked down!! Scan tomorrow!!! I'm on twin watch!!!!! GrinGrin X

Dixiebell · 07/05/2015 21:31

Twobees, ha, I think your scan is two days before mine, so will be waiting with baited breath to hear whether it's twins, wrong dates or just baby no.3 belly!

Gr33dyeggs · 07/05/2015 21:45

Glad you're being seen quickly stalphonso.

We're considering names now. Largely to prevent our 6yo calling it scooby! Agreed a girls 7 years ago, but a 2nd boys name is proving tough.

ChicBabyP · 07/05/2015 21:55

Wonderful news NewMrsX! And a boy too, how exciting! Keep taking it easy.

We'll be thinking of you Monday StAlphonso.

Re- premie talk. I Hear/read so many stories of premies that it is scaring me a little... Dd was born at term by ELCS (not by choice, has slightly high risk pregnancy) but I was very happy with how things went.
This time around, I'm bound to have premies as they won't let me go over 37weeks (which is considered term for twins).
Also, I worry about care for dd as we have no family around... It's all a little daunting really. I get quite anxious thinking about it all at the moment.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 22:07

Sorry to hear that Chic I think for me having a preemie was just such a shock I'm still processing it sometimes. But you know, he's a lovely smiley little boy with no major health problems so far (touch wood). It takes him ages to do stuff compared to term babies but that's fine. I tend to avoid the competitive mum types at baby groups now and that's helped a lot. There's so much they can do now with steroid injections for lungs etc too. I was told in hospital that 20 years ago we'd both have not made it, but we went home in just over a week thanks to modern medicine - they'll look after you very well. The prem board on here is great too. Also I thought it was a rare thing but I've read it's about 1 in 8 babies that are prem now, so I know a few mums in real life that have been the same.
Sorry I've rambled on but just wanted to say obviously it's not something you want, but chances are they'll be fine.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 22:10

And I've got the same worry as you. Being in for ages with DS at home will be a nightmare, I'm hoping for an early escape but it's not likely

SnozzberryPie · 07/05/2015 23:10

Chic I agree with abbey that a large part of the shock of having a premature baby is how unexpected it is and how unprepared you are, and that you don't really understand what is going on. As you are having twins you will know to have everything ready in good time, read up about premature babies (I recommend reading up about breastfeeding if that's what you want to do) and maybe ask your hospital if you can visit the scbu.

The medical care is amazing and even really early babies can do really well. Dd was 35 weeks and you wouldn't know it now, she is a chubby little bundle of energy Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/05/2015 05:04

I just wanted to add, a lot of the ones you see on the news etc are micro-preemies 22-27 weeks but most are late pre-term 34-36 weeks (Like mine and Snozzberry) which is very different. I imagine they'll get you as close to 37 as possible.
Mine was 36 weeks exactly, by a few hours (35 by my dates but that's another story!) and he was small and lost weight due to a breastfeeding disaster to cut a long story short - birth weight 6 and a half pounds, dropped to below 5. Anyway he's now the biggest one at the baby things I go to, at 7 months old. It's quite funny if I see someone that hasn't seen him since a baby and see them do a double-take! His hair colour has completely changed too so they probably think I swapped him Wink

LadyStark · 08/05/2015 07:52

Chic - my step-Mum went to just shy of 41 weeks with twins as she was having a great pregnancy so they may let you go beyond 37 weeks.

Try not to worry too much, I was overdue with my DD and she spent two weeks in NICU, you just never know what's going to happen.

I stayed up too late watching election footage and am knackered this morning [yawn]

So wonderful to hear your news MrsX, you must be so relieved, enjoy a few more days relaxing.

TwoBeesInTheHive · 08/05/2015 09:42

just wanted to add too that they can't make you do anything. they can only advise. so its not whether they let you or not, it's your choice at the end of the day and if you and babies are all fine and healthy it's totally within your rights to ask to go a bit longer Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/05/2015 09:56

Yes TwoBees is right, you have to consent to it. I'm hoping to have a late c section (if I get that far) as I'm convinced my dates are wrong and would rather be what I calculate as 39 weeks at least. I'm not going to sign the papers for an earlier one, unless there's another medical reason of course

Lauramum23 · 08/05/2015 10:16

Congrats to mrs x so happy for you! It's a bit crap going through them tests isn't it- all that worry but turned out fine! I'm not looking forward to mine now!
Am I the last one for 12 week scan? Mines Monday 18th

LadyStark · 08/05/2015 10:59

Does anyone else not feel pregnant? Sickness and tiredness mostly gone but I don't have a bump or anything either. Weird limbo, 15 weeks tomorrow.

TakesTwoToTango · 08/05/2015 11:23

lady that's a totally normal stage of pregnancy don't worry. I suspect it might be what people refer to as the glow! Unfortunately, I'm not there yet by a long stretch but I am looking forward to that bit (though I do remember finding it rather disconcerting with my first). Enjoy it while it lasts! Grin

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/05/2015 11:27

I remember that with my first too but a bit later on, maybe 20 weeks? My bump shrunk too and I was terrified! Totally normal apparently, something to do with water and bloating reducing rather than the baby.
Still a bit nauseous here at 15+1 but not too bad - manageable with lots of food thankfully

tootsroots · 08/05/2015 11:42

morning! hope those with colds feel better, i have had to follow own advice as woken up with a raging cold, perfect for flying to the Far East today for a long holiday!!! Feeling like an awful mummy as leaving cats in the house for the cat sitter to come daily to play and feed them... i suspect i will cry :( they are my fur babies.

I also stayed up too late and got up too early to watch election!

Hope any scans today go well!

Lauramum23 · 08/05/2015 11:51

God I feel sick! That is all...,..
