Lady stark I thought that today too! Although only 13+1. What did it feel like for you?

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 05/05/2015 20:39

Congratulations Gotthekey

I've felt the odd movement too, I'm 14+5 I think because it's my second perhaps. First time I didn't really know what it is was until I connected the feeling with the kicks on the 20 week scan screen

NewMrsX · 05/05/2015 20:49

Thank you for your kind comments everyone. I'm feeling a lot better physically now, it's just the wait for the results that I'm already finding tough and I only had the test this morning!

StAlphonso I'm so sorry to hear that. It's such a shock isn't it? I'm glad you have a supportive dp, I'm very lucky there too thankfully. I found that for me the decision making of what to do was the hardest bit, but once we decided on a course of action I felt much better and focused. I did have a slight wobble just as they were preparing me for the test but I reminded myself of our reasons for making that decision and it helped me get through it.

I hope you and your dp are in agreement about whether to test or not as it made it much easier that I went ahead with dhs backing. If you need to talk or have any questions you're welcome to pm me Flowers

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 05/05/2015 21:01

Thank you, that's so kind! He will support me either way, I know.

I sound pragmatic but to be honest I've been crying into my work all evening.

roughtyping · 05/05/2015 21:01

ladystark I think I've been feeling movements too, since the Middle of last week. I'm 14 weeks exactly

doomclaw · 05/05/2015 21:14

Please can someone tell me to pull myself together. I am so worried about tomorrow despite feeling very positive in the last few days. I am not normally a worrier so telling myself this is just hormones (that's good right?) I know that DH is anxious about tomorrow as well (he suffers from anxiety anyway) and I don't want to make him feel any worse. I feel so stupid as there are some people here with actual, real worries and I am just being too unimaginative as I just can't think that there could be anything wriggling around in there that I can't feel. Right I am off to cry in the shower for a few minutes to see if that makes me feel any better.

LadyStark · 05/05/2015 21:16

Phew! I was worried it was all in my head, it's baby 2 but with a six year gap so can't remember too well.

It feels like a quick fluttering, almost like a butterfly is trapped in my lower abdomen with the odd firmer movement. Hard to describe!

Alphonso, do you have anyone else supporting you in RL apart from DP? I hate to think of you sitting at home crying [hugs].

Glad you are feeling better NewMrsX. How long do you have to wait? You've been very brave and I hope you're rewarding yourself with chocolate/treats.

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 05/05/2015 21:18

doomclaw your worries are just as valid as anyone else's!

It's just a really stressful time, I sympathise. Fingers crossed this time tomorrow you'll be feeling much better. I hope the cry helps.

LadyStark · 05/05/2015 21:19

Oh doomclaw, worrying is natural but don't let it take over. You're the boss here, not anxiety, remember that.

Have a nice relaxing shower/bath then a cup of tea and try to think rationally. Of course you can't be certain but the odds of everything being fine tomorrow are overwhelmingly in your favour. Stay positive! Flowers

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 05/05/2015 21:20

Thank you LadyStark! No, just one friend in my home country, so that's all a bit distant too.

I still have my lovely work to focus on. I don't even know if I'm joking, it keeps me sane when I'm lonely and homesick.

doomclaw · 05/05/2015 21:34

Thank you for the perspective ladies. Hair washed, pj's on and a peppermint tea in hand so things seem a little better.

StAlphonos and NewMrsX - you are both doing so well to remain calm and reasonable at the moment. I hope everything works out for you both.

roughtyping · 05/05/2015 22:31

Good luck for all the scans tomorrow, and FlowersBrew for alphonsos and mrsx - thinking of you both, hope you're ok.

My tummy has sort of popped out today - don't know how to describe it really! Feels much firmer at the bottom of my tummy and it's definitely changed shape. A strange feeling!

ehealy · 06/05/2015 06:03

Thankyou for noticing Tootsroots. Yes it was my birthday yesterday and it was lovely to see the baba. If anyone is reading get there early you don't need to drink water and try to bio oil up your tummy it effects the image. Happy scans today

Focusfocus · 06/05/2015 06:54

doomclaw, stalphonso many comforting vibes to you. Sorry I've been AWOL lately everyone, been working outside, collecting data, all weekend, and yesterday and today has been absolutely manic with lectures, students in zillions etc etc.

I'm off with DH for a quick beachey holiday in Europe till Monday, so till I return loooooooads of love to everyone, and I hope, now that we have had a wave of scans, we son get to reach the wave of flutters and movement bubbles. Then we can countdown to the 20 week scan. Step at a time eh?!

Good luck to all having scans today.

Yesterday was very tiring, hadn't slept well night before the scan and was such a relief to see little one moving away that I was exhausted last night.!

Time to tell my boss today Smile

stace1986 · 06/05/2015 08:01

Good luck to all my scan buddies today.

I have been awake for what feels like hours and I am full of cold and feeling terrible! Any one got any tips on treating a cold while pregnant? I am usually a night nurse and cold and flu capsules kind of girl!

cryingbabymess · 06/05/2015 08:07

Good luck today to all my scanning day twinnies!! I cannot wait! Only 5 hours 40 minutes to go SmileShockConfusedWinkGrin

GotTheKey · 06/05/2015 08:16

Good luck with your scans!
I am also full of cold and it just seems to keep getting worse. I'm off work :(
I have only taken paracetamol but would usually have ibuprofen and sudafed!!! Can anyone help??!!!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 06/05/2015 08:34

GotTheKey try hot honey lemon and ginger? I feel your pain, I have had a cough/cold pretty much since I conveived!

12 weeks today and my body has rewarded me with my first stretch mark Shock I knew all those crisps would come back and haunt me!!

Good luck with all the scans.

BleachedBarnet · 06/05/2015 08:36

Good luck to everyone getting scanned today!

I'm waiting for this supposed wonderful second trimester to kick in, but in reality still feeling sick as a dog and also getting headaches every single day. The joys of procreation! I'm only 12+5 but the past month has been spent dreaming of the sickness ending so to say I'm disappointed not to have bounced out of bed on Saturday full of the joys of life would be an understatement.

PooSweats84 · 06/05/2015 08:39

Adding myself to the list! Smile

Also, does anyone else have a really sensitive tunny? If I brush my hand across it, I get a kind of stinging sensation? I noticed it last night and it's still there today. Confused

Good luck to all fellow scanees today. Just got to try and get the bladder timing right now.

Blueblink · 06/05/2015 08:48

Good luck to todays scanees! Tried to upload this pic from my phone yesterday but it didn't go through! Here is my little bubba, sucking its thumb already!

Karmanna13 · 06/05/2015 09:08

Had my scan this morning. Still don't know my exact dates - head measured 11+2 and body 11+6. Also, the second sac was still there but it is now empty so no twins. On a brighter note my Down's test came back as 1 in 20,000, slightly amazed as I'm 37 later this month and I thought it got worse with age (For DS1 the risk was 1 in 9,600). Here's the little wriggler, it was moving so much we couldn't really get a decent picture...

Good luck to all the scanners today!

Thanks Heir! I've had a honey and lemon and steamed my face which helped loosen the mucus a bit!
