Shiny new thread for us all

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
comeagainforbigfudge · 14/06/2015 03:13

Still in hospital. Off iv antibiotics now. Just oral. Baby fudge is off them completely.
But now has borderline jaundice. So having a night of photo therapy. Which so far has seen her feed ever 1.5hrs and that means that I'm back to square one with the lack of sleep. Just want to get home now. So over emotional and ready to cry at anything.

Hope everyone is keeping well and that those patiently waiting don't have long to go

Jazz I don't know what stats you are wanting?

Oh come that sounds tough Hmm Glad you seem to be back to "normal" health, even if you are still feeling like you've been hit by the baby-delivery-bus. Hopefully fudgelet is ok to go home soon xxx

GinFizz15 · 14/06/2015 07:48

Hey everyone. New to thread and 6 days overdue now. Wondered who else is overdue? My first was only 2 days over so struggling to be patient! x

Newshoesplease · 14/06/2015 09:28

I'm now 2 days overdue, feels like a lifetime. Suspect I'll go all the way with this one. Hellish pregnancy the whole way through. When do u next see midwife gin ?

Me & dh are trying to dtd every day, it's not helping, and I feel revolting lol.

GinFizz15 · 14/06/2015 10:06

Feel your pain newshoes - I feel gross!! So sick of the few clothes that actually fit. Going for a walk shortly although I don't think anything is going to make this baby hurry. He's definitely a lazy one! Had a sweep last Wednesday and due to see mw again for another on Wednesday. Induction booked for 20th but really hope I don't have to wait that long. Hope you don't have to wait too much longer either!!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 14/06/2015 10:17

Hi Gin... dc2 for me and currently 6 days over as well. Dd (nearly 3) was 12 days over after 3 sweeps but we did avoid induction. Had 2 sweeps so far with this one and a lot of pain/painful braxton hicks etc for weeks now so I really wasn't expecting to be overdue again Hmm. Lost my plug yesterday, yeuch, and no way I'm dtd for several weeks yet!!!

GinFizz15 · 14/06/2015 11:06

Ah pasbeaucoup you must have same due date as me then.. I've been having loads of Braxton hicks contractions for weeks which I didn't get with Dd. Thought the benefit of having a second was that you'd know when you're in labour!! Every night and every morning, I think this is it. Fingers crossed it happens for us all soon!!

jazzyjenbo · 14/06/2015 11:13

Comeagain, hope u get home soon, and baby is looking better after the light therapy.

It was babys info for the stats,
name, sex, dob, weight, time, gestation.
Your baby is the 40th x

fortywinx · 14/06/2015 11:46

Belated congrats comeagain! Hope you get to go home with your little one soon!

zahaziland · 14/06/2015 12:08

Hello! Waters broke during the night at 4am. At the hospital trying to breathe through the contractions!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 14/06/2015 12:38

Ooh good luck Zah!

I despatched dd and dh to the swimming pool so have spent the morning "chilling" with my hypnobirthing cd and other music whilst flopped over my ball still trying to turn this stubborn baby so it's not back to back. Spent over an hour essentially on all fours now and no idea if it's had any effect!!

Gin we must both have been due last Monday? I'm being induced on 20th too if no baby by then. Absolutely agree that I thought I'd know for definite if it was labour this time... I was also promised categorically by my mw that I wouldn't have the long latent phase this time. Ha bloody ha!!

GinFizz15 · 14/06/2015 13:24

Exciting to hear baby coming zah. Tried the all four position and LOTS of bouncing on the ball yesterday in case of poor position. Pasbeaucoup - do you know if your baby is back to back or are you trying to avoid? And yes to due date being last Monday - Pah!

AnythingNotEverything · 14/06/2015 13:40

Good luck Za! Hope baby comes soon.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 14/06/2015 14:20

Mine's been swinging about quite a lot... I was able to turn it quite quickly with half and hour on all fours, but it's preferred position seems to have been back to back.

The last week I haven't felt it change much from back to back HmmHmm Perfect time to choose to wedge itself the "wrong" way!!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 14/06/2015 14:49

zahazi - good luck. Hope you're well on your way now!

Come on babies. All this teasing is cruel and making life rather dull. Angry Grin

Chookford · 14/06/2015 14:52

zaha good luck!! Hope baby arrives for you nice and quickly!

pas and gin hope you both avoid induction if you can! I was 12 days late with Mabel and had 3 failed sweeps, lots of sex and walks and still nothing! She was also back to back right up until labour then she turned! Induction was thankfully quick but bloody painful, although second labours are meant to be! Hope your stubborn babies make an appearance soon!

come sorry you are having a hard time of things, hope you and your daughter are home soon and you can enjoy your newborn!

jazzyjenbo · 14/06/2015 17:12

Good luck zah, today could turn out to be the most popular birthday so far, already have to babies today and another 3 in labour Grin
Most popular day so far was 18th may for early junebugs!

Usernamesarehard · 15/06/2015 15:41

Had a sweep yesterday after a trip to the hospital ( swollen face, panicked myself, baby was fine). Nothing. Nada. I'm so scared of being induced Sad

excitedbutsick · 15/06/2015 15:57

A quick update, I was admitted to hospital and induced on the 10th due to the blood pressure problems. Contractions started at 7am on Friday after the 2nd and 3rd pessaries fell out, and was found to be 3cm. ARM given at 5pm on Friday which started near continuous contractions almost immediately and was transferred to the delivery room at 10pm. I stayed at 3-4cm until 02:10 on Saturday when I was found to be 6cm and baby Charles was born at 03:26 weighing 7lb 6oz. I was finally discharged yesterday evening and although it has been a hellish night of feeding he is now sleeping.

GinFizz15 · 15/06/2015 16:05

Congrats excited. Although sounds like you had a long one! At least you have your little boy with you now and even better that he's sleeping!!

I'm also scared of induction too username. Had a relatively straightforward birth with dd. Another sweep for me Wednesday so hoping he comes before then. 7 days over now and feeling it.

rolypolybird84 · 15/06/2015 19:11

Congratulations excited and bigfudge! And all the other lucky ladies who have their babies in their arms!

I'm 38+4 today...I have absolutely NO signs of anything happening imminently which is a shame as SPD is getting quite boring now!

Question about breast feeding...I'm a first time mum and have had no leaky boobs or any particular new sensation in nipples! They do look different but do all boobs leak? Does it mean that breast feeding would be affected?

Thanks!

Chookford · 15/06/2015 19:17

excited massive congrats on the birth of Charles!! Lovely news

come hooray for coming home!! Mabel still hates the bath! Grin

roly my boobs didn't leak with either of my dd's and have breastfeed both times, so it has bo effect on feeding everyone is different so don't panic!

AnythingNotEverything · 15/06/2015 19:21

Roly I fed for over a year and never leaked. I'm 38+6 and still get nothing if I squeeze - I only stopped feeding a few months ago so would've thought there'd be something there. Don't worry Smile
