Shiny new thread for us all

I've had a rush of energy today too. I've done DD's ironing (I don't understand why toddler clothes seem to need ironing - I don't iron anything else!), three loads of washing dried on the line, made a spag bol for tea with a portion for the freezer and finished crocheting baby's blanket.

My mum would say this was the pre labour surge of energy. I think it's just what happens when DD is with the childminder Smile

Good luck to those with impending sweeps ...

comeagainforbigfudge · 09/06/2015 16:39

I have no energy today at all. Very jealous. Everything is taking so long to do. Think all the time spent in hospital yesterday has done me in. Can't even be bothered double checking suitcase (it's a flight case not moving in!! Ha ha ha)

On plus side our bedroom is almost finished. Curtain rail and curtains to go up this evening but we've his nibs have moved the bed through aleady.

I did unpack the steriliser and put together the perfect prep machine, just need to run it through. Will sort moses basket later after a wee nap. But that's it. If we ain't got it ready, then I've not thought of it and we'll survive I'm sure!!

Good luck for all the impending sweeps and inductions... Hope we have some baby news soon!!

Mabel is settling in to some sort of routine now she slept for 6hours last night which was lovely am hoping this continues! Forgot how hard the baby stage is but also how lovely!! Grin

comeagainforbigfudge · 10/06/2015 09:32

Ok so I'm ever so slightly thinking I must be due a freak out soon. Being induced later today and I'm sitting watching a documentary on iplayer about the spanish armada (All Dan snow's fault) instead of you know "nesting".

I did clean the kitchen first. Bathroom was done last night. Just need to tidy/dust living room, fix car seat straps then persuade tell OH to hoover everywhere Grin

I'm definitely too calm!

Good luck today come hope it's a nice quick induction for you!!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 10/06/2015 11:02

Comeagain, I've watched that documentary over the last 3 Sundays and it was fascinating Smile And I got to flop over my birthing ball aiming for optimal foetal position swoon over Dan Snow. Never really appreciated how yummy he is - maybe it's just hormones!!

Oh, and good luck with the induction Grin

comeagainforbigfudge · 10/06/2015 11:30

Oh I've always had a soft spot for Mr D Snow. I think it's his voice as he's not conventionally good looking. Grin

Thanks ladies. Looks like my mucus plug just came away as well so now I'm wondering if the induction will progress rather quickly! That's just me being curious though.

Good luck ComeAgain.

jazzyjenbo · 10/06/2015 12:58

Good luck today comeagain!

Chook, fab news on the sleep! Florrie is also quiet a good sleeper and when she wakes is an efficient feeder.

Lovely seeing the baby numbers rising x

Bazza2 · 10/06/2015 18:49

Totally with you about Dan Snow come and pas.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 10/06/2015 22:45

Hope it's going well, come Smile

I was all set for an effective sweep today - especially after Sunday night/Monday morning's shenanigans I really thought things just needed tipping over. Ha bloody ha. Cervix not very favourable so mw managed to sweep some of the membranes in one side but not get a good scoop round. (Naice.) Feeling utterly fed up as I really thought it might work Hmm.

Just going to have to resign myself to being massively overdue again I think. I think I just take a long time to cook babies. Wtf have all the contractions so far been for though????!!!!!

jazzyjenbo · 10/06/2015 23:10

Pas, dont giv up hope yet.. When i went for my sweep she couldnt even reach the cervix and said i wasnt ready yet but the poking about produced a show the next day and waters broke the day after that.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 11/06/2015 06:46

Jazzy, you're my new bff SmileSmile

Tryingreallyhard84 · 11/06/2015 07:41

Ooo, anything exciting yet Comeagain? Hope it did progress quick.

I had more crampy feelings last night, but have again woken up pregnant. Might start bribing this baby by shaking a box of treats....works when I want the cat to come off the wardrobe. Grin I'm only 38+5 so just being horribly impatient I suppose.

Health visitor coming today to introduce herself. I think that's the sum total of my excitement for the day so might get out for a walk.

AnythingNotEverything · 11/06/2015 08:04

Pas - I had what the doctor called a "failed sweep" last time, had immediate period backache, and turned up for induction 24 hours later 4cm dilated and ARMable. DD was born just hours later. I think any poking around at this stage is potentially productive. Fingers crossed for youSmile

Morning. Well after a very long induced labour of almost 24 hours continuously monitored because of reduced movement, failed epidural, difficulty getting on top of pain, potential c-section, roaring temperature of 39.1, I finally delivered a wee girl last evening at 17.24. Forceps delivery as they wanted her out ASAP due to my temp being so high. But 4 pushes and she was out.

So so so tired, haven't slept in properly now in 48 hrs and currently getting blood/antibiotics but I have my wee baby. And she is beautiful. Will post a picture when I have more brain cells working (ie after I finally get a wee sleep)

Congratulations comeagain - fantastic news. Sorry to hear that the labour was not easy, but that will soon be forgotten and you will focus on your little girl.

Currently 39+1 here, and nothing, absolutely nothing, going on: no twinges, no pains, no niggles, nothing!

Chookford · 12/06/2015 09:24

come brilliant news, congrats on the birth of your daughter x

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 12/06/2015 09:39

Oh my goodness, come, that sounds all rather traumatic and scary Hmm So glad your little lassie is here safe and sound though and hope you are soon able to put it all down to a distant memory! Well done, mummy!!

Newshoesplease · 12/06/2015 10:22

Today's my due date... Not a hint of labour Envy

Big congrats comeagain

Tryingreallyhard84 · 12/06/2015 11:47

Big congratulations Comeagain. Sorry it seemed traumatic and drawn out but your little lady is here now. Grin Thanks

I've just come back from midwife. All good. Stomach was tightening as she was palpating but could be nothing

No clinic at my local surgery next week so I have to go to the drop in one in a not so great part of town (totally judgemental there but there ya go) so baby, if you would like to vacate before that has to happen, I would be eternally grateful. Wink

Baby Newshoes, come on, do your mum a favour! Show some signs.

jazzyjenbo · 13/06/2015 13:26

Congratulations comeagain... Hope ur little lady is giving you lots of cuddles. Let us know her vital stats when you can. X x

jazzyjenbo · 13/06/2015 17:41

Just looking at the stats and wondered if theres any update from mrsbeebee, aconda, mummymathsteacher or rabidzombie?
We are now upto 42 babies with about 3/4 showing signs of not being to far off arriving.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 13/06/2015 22:21

Massive and manky show this morning, but still here! Show was surely set off by my second sweep yesterday and a load of contractions last night which were very exciting and bloody painful but died away to nothing overnight. Just had period type pain all day today really, I get it pretty badly when I have my period and it was no worse than that. Am flipping grumpy though, poor dd HmmHmm (And dh, but he is old enough to understand why!)

I only have 2 bags of raspberry leaf tea left. I'm not sodding buying another box!!!
