Oh no Wil, sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish, daytime TV and some paracetamol will get you through it. Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for the car seat support Ga and Tee I do think that there is never any need to charge hundreds of pounds for a car seat, it's plastic and foam! But still you want the best for baby and it feels like crap when I can't afford the best for mine. That said, a hefty amount of research has taught me that expensive does not always mean good. I like the one we've chosen, now all I have to do is get a reluctant dp to hand over the cash! I might need to get a torture device or put him on a sex ban. Any ideas ladies?
Dulcet please do get checked, although losing nothing might be a good sign, you might just be out of water or something, and it's best to be overcautious than sorry. Let us know how you get on.
Purple get the second hand cot if you like it and are happy with it, so long at it's functioning properly there's no reason why not. Mine will be using a cot that's in the attic, and about 25 years old? It's from dp's aunty and she used it for both her grown up boys. It's in good condition and we co-sleep most of the time so I don't see the point of forking out on a new one, I have a new mattress ready for it though :)
La glad you get to take your leave early, there's no point struggling in and being uncomfortable all day, and it means enjoy the last few days of preparing and get the rest you need. Also, is it normal to get a whooping cough vaccine at the 31 week mark? I've not read anything about it and have no idea if or when I need to sort that out. I could ask my midwife but why when I have you lot? ;) Plus, I'm not having my 16 week appointment, I rang up to book it for 17 weeks because I couldn't make 16 weeks, but that's next Monday which is a Bank Holiday and there's no clinic, so given that I have my consultant appointment on the 7th, midwife said I'll have all the checks there so no need to book in for the week after. I'm disappointed, but felt silly telling her that I want to go twice just so I get to hear the heartbeat as soon as possible.
Also, I'll be dyeing my hair on the weekend at some point, and will definitely put a picture up when it's done and I look less like I've walked through some thick cobwebs. The friend who's doing it for me is someone I've known since school and she bleached my hair for me when we were 15. I ended up sitting two mock GCSE's looking like a badger before spending 4 hrs having it put right in the hairdressers. I'm hoping I fair better this time.
