Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 26th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Hi viroids!

oooh rhiannon yes put up a pic! I believe it's fine to dye your hair, as long as you wear gloves and be careful with any fumes i.e. make sure it's well ventilated area etc

I was really pleased with my car seat as it was a good deal on the cabriofix and familyfix base, but now I know that I can't put the pearl rear facing in the familyfix from 1 year when the cabriofix will be too small it's taken the shine off a bit. New law says you have to have them rear facing until 15 months - more if possible. So options are go back to shop and ask to change the base to two-way base to then later be able to use the two-way pearl or stick with what I've got and buy a different child seat at 1 year - potentially that just uses seat belts rather than base, as I don't want to spend out on both again. I think I'm going for the latter. Plus as we said yesterday you never know what new product they will come out with next - or modifications, so they might produce a next stage seat that goes in familyfix or something. For a quiet life I'm just going to stick with what I've got :D

I've got WC vaccine booked for 31 weeks, same time as my next midwife appointment.

We've selected our 6 interviewees for my mat cover - I'm excited, some really good people!

ewa at first GP appointment I would just ask for info about what you need to do next i.e. booking in with midwife and bloods. For advice about what you should/shouldn't be eating there's loads on babycentre and on the NHS website, plus babycentre app 'my pregnancy day by day' is really good.

I didn't bother with test for toxoplasmosis - I wear gloves when gardening and dh changes litter trays, it's a good excuse to get out of it!

Good luck splodge and mini!!!!!

How are you getting on could? Is your wee one settling in?

wil I've been told by both physio and mw that it would be better to finish up earlier because I'm struggling sitting at desk with sore back and ribs, plus my hips are hurty and that's likely to get worse as I get heavier. Everything feels better when I lie down, so they said it would be better to not be feeling like I have to struggle into work every day past 36 weeks. Mw was pushing for 34 but I really can't do that! I'd have no annual leave left at the other end! I'm delighted to have shaved another 2 weeks off my remainding time at work, woohoo!

tee is it worth having a pg massage to ease the fluid a bit?

god fleur that sounds quite stressful!!!

Love newbies - glad looking finally got an answer, I did wonder the other day if she was upduffed!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/04/2015 20:58

Bloody hell that message was huge, sorry guys!!!

Purpleball · 27/04/2015 21:18

Evening viroids

I wondered about skipping the baby carrier type seat and just buying a 0-4 years seat. I spoke with my sister and friend about it, both said the carrier is very useful for when you're out and about, call in the shops, or just don't want to wake a sleeping baby, so we're going with plan A

Dulcet hope you're ok

Ewa I rang the GP who gave me the community midwife phone number. I rang them and made a booking appt for 8-9 weeks which lasted an hour. They sent the paperwork off which got lost for my scan booking

I've got a dilemma, we've been offered a cot that has already been through 5 children. Its apparently in reasonable condition and we'll buy a mattress for it. Is there any reason to say no? Its 12 years old and has only been in the family.

Short notice trip to the south east tonight for tomorrow, I brought my dream genie pillow with me Smile but forgot my iPad Sad

Purpleball · 27/04/2015 21:22

Oh I never had a conversation about Toxoplasmosis but we don't have a cat and DH does the gardening

La I'd stick with what you've got too. The world keeps changing! I found a lot of car seat bases on eBay for a decent amount so if you do need to get rid, you'll probably get half your money back or more

gaggiagirl · 27/04/2015 21:48

indigo where you at? Are you lurking?

Rhi I think you have made excellent car seat decisions! We can only get what we can afford! Agree with tee bastard companies cashing in and milking first time mams with pfb's.
I'll be strapping this baby to the roof rack with bungee cords if my sister wont give me their car seat Grin.

I was supposed to be at my 16 wk midwife appt tomorrow but I've had to cancel for the dreaded day long safeguarding course Sad I also have to do my hand washing assessment that I manage to fail on the first wash every year. mountain I bet you have never failed yours.

KatoPotato · 27/04/2015 21:54

LA the new law is running alongside the current legislation, so don't worry! The cabrio is one of the safest seats you can buy atm.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/04/2015 22:16

purple I bought 2nd hand cot bed - as long as it's in good nick I'd say go for it! But obviously (as you're doing) buy new mattress.

Thanks Purple and Kato! I'll stick with it.

What's a safeguarding course?

ChatEnOeuf · 27/04/2015 22:20

My GP appt last time was pointless except to tell them which consultant I wanted to care for me. It meant I got to see him at 12w rather than waiting for the mw referral Smile

They test for toxo routinely here. I was amazed not to be immune but apparently it is v rare in the UK, whereas it's practically endemic here.

Dulcet, hope all is ok...

Indigoblue2 · 27/04/2015 22:27

Yo homeys, I'm here lurking, just being a crap JSer and hardly posting. Listening to all your chat though! gaggia you missing my wit and humour??

Indigoblue2 · 27/04/2015 22:29

Indigoblue2 · 27/04/2015 22:29

But when I do post, I post twice Wink

gaggiagirl · 27/04/2015 22:37

indigo yeah I blummin was! Ha I made you de lurk!

la safeguarding children. Its teaching you procedures to spot and report vulnerable/abused/at risk children. Its so horrible because we have to discuss examples and well known cases its really upsetting. I also dont think I can sit that long in the lecture theatre. Everything hurts and I keep weeing!

DulcetMoans · 27/04/2015 22:37

Sorry, I'm here! Busy day so just catching up. I didn't ring midwife. I am a bad pregnant lady. I did stay at work tee, need my head seeing too! I will call tomorrow though. I haven't lost anything today so that's good, right?

Second hand bed here too purple, still in need of a mattress but no reason not to if it's in good nick.

Safeguarding is how to ensure children/vulnerable people are kept safe la.

I went to a hospital open day a while back and one of the activities was hand washing - it's really hard gaggia! We put hands under a black light and I was crap at it. Especially around the nails!

You are not having a good time with the house fleur! Was it the builders blocking the drain?!

I second the massage suggestion tee. Get on it!

gaggiagirl · 27/04/2015 22:41

dulcet its always my nails that fail the black light too! It is hard.
Could your fluid be mucous? I've heard of mucous 'squirts' still call the midwife though!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/04/2015 23:01

sniggers squirts

Sorry. I'm a 12 yo child in my head

WilHarlot · 27/04/2015 23:17

Haha I'm with you La, that sounds rank. The carseat will probably fit for 15m no? I got 15/16m with ours and it's smaller than a maxi cosi. Maybe the weight is different though.

gaggiagirl · 27/04/2015 23:17

la I knew you would snigger at that!

LaLaLaaaa · 28/04/2015 07:22

I'd hate to disappoint ;)

Got new iPhone update and it doesn't let me see what I'm writing- very weird.

Woken up feeling a bit vomity. Hope it buggers off I've got a course today.

Have a nice day everyone!

WilHarlot · 28/04/2015 08:01

I hate software updates. I keep refusing the new ipad one. I'm ill Sad

Purpleball · 28/04/2015 08:16

I wanted the update cos the disappearing keyboard shortcuts were driving me batshit. Now I'm not so sure Hmm

gaggiagirl · 28/04/2015 08:18

wil what's up?

ChatEnOeuf · 28/04/2015 08:22

Oh no, Wil. What's up? I'm ill too. Sore throat hips hurt and headache, DD has been awake on and off since 5 so I'm not sure if I can just blame her...

LaLaLaaaa · 28/04/2015 08:41

Oh no wil!

WilHarlot · 28/04/2015 08:48

It's manflu . (Please can someone tell me which symbols to use for italics).

MiniWil has it too so we've had an interesting night... She will mostly spend today glued to aforementioned ipad so I can watch crap daytime tv.

Hope you feel better soon Chat, at least I can keep stocked up on decent painkillers.

couldntbebothered · 28/04/2015 08:52
