Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 26th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

This is the Britax seat. As it is suitable from birth it could be a cheaper option but the ability to move a seat from car to pram is a bonus for the maxicosi system. I had it for half price plus an extra 10% off as Mothercare ballsed up the orders so could do both.

DulcetMoans · 26/04/2015 22:11

I know I should be taking all this in but I just can't make my brain understand! If you get a travel system with a car seat is all this irrelevant?

ChatEnOeuf · 26/04/2015 22:21

Maybe, Dulcet. We have the Cybex Aton which did DD until 14m, and she wasn't too tall at that stage, just threw up on it immediately before a driving holiday...so she moved up early so the cover could be washed Grin. That fits onto our M&P travel system chassis and isofix base so we're reusing it. It's likely to last 15m, I don't breed giants Wink .

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 22:30

The familyfix can be used with pearl so up to 4 years and rear facing.

Isofix is less of a faff than seat belt but it's totally up to you.

Halfords have sale on both cabriofix and familyfix just now - I got both for £250. Pearl then takes over from 9 months to 4 years.

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 22:36

Hang on, now I'm confused. Can familyfix be used with pearl rear facing? Just looked it up to double check. We were sold it as that definitely but now I'm not sure!

splodge77 · 26/04/2015 22:40

Had big bad pains low in my bump about an hour ago, is this it I thought?! Got on my knees leaning over my fitness ball and then.... Did a big fart. Ha ha. Baby staying put for now.

ZylaB · 26/04/2015 22:47

la the pearl is forward facing and uses the familyfix base you've got. The 2-way pearl can be rear or forward facing, so we'd have it rear facing, but it uses a different base.

We're in the same position as you, but got such an amazing deal on the maxi cosi and base when our local kiddicare was closing its not too bad if we have to get a new base. But it is a bit annoying, they should all fit one base dammit!

ZylaB · 26/04/2015 22:52

That said..I won't be wanting a seat that comes out easily anyways, as it won't be going in the pram when she's too big for the cabriofix. Hmm. Do they do seats that fit directly to the isofix points without a base?

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 22:53

Oh splodge that make me laugh! See when I got taken to hospital the other week for pain? Did big poo the next day and felt fine again! Blush

Zyla I might see how much two way base is as my base is still in wrapping. Bloody annoying that is! They should've told me that in the shop :(

KatoPotato · 26/04/2015 23:04

La the familyfix is not a rear facing next stage base. The maxicosi rear facing setup is the 2wayfix used with the pebble plus and the 2way pearl.

I'm well aware of the quoted safety benefits of extended rear facing but the current rs rated seats are still vigorously tested and fully legal for the time being. Ds was car sick every time he was rear facing and finally was content when he went into his forward facing seat at approx 9months old.

KatoPotato · 26/04/2015 23:11

Also you will struggle to find an online price for the I-size setup, as they have yet to publish full car fitting lists so will require an in-person fitting, but from what I could garner you'd be. Looking about £180 for base, £190 for pebble plus and then £200 for 2way pearl.

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 23:13

Maybe I'll just see what the options are later on down the line. Don't want to spend a fortune on something just now when they might make improvements or bring out new products in the meantime.

KatoPotato · 26/04/2015 23:17

That's my plan too!

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 23:17

If you don't need to use the car seat in travel system anymore once child is older then I'm presuming next stage child seat would just stay in car? In which case it wouldn't be so much of a pain to take in and out constantly.

Pisghetti · 27/04/2015 00:31

The Britax fits directly to the isofix points and then stays in the car.

WilHarlot · 27/04/2015 01:09

Please try isofix bases before buying. Our cars wouldn't take them because of shape of seats.

You def don't need to attach second stage car seat onto travel system.

ZylaB · 27/04/2015 03:54

Ok, so it looks like I'm after something like the britax pis has for our next stage then :). Mind you, it's ages away so I need to not obsess over it yet, she'll be in the maxi cosi for aaaages yet.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/04/2015 07:10

I had the seat and base both fitted before I bought them - they wouldn't let you buy at halfords without that. Also you had to buy from one of the two people trained in car seats, even when I went back to pick up my order. Non trained staff weren't allowed to sell them. I thought that was really good.

I'm just going to wait til baby needs next size then see what there is. We want dc2 after this one so either way hopefully we will get lots of wear out of everything.

Hideous night last night - Physio had recommended complex pillow system for hips. Fine but then I couldn't get out every time I needed to wee! Ended up chucking them all out of bed. Also had mammoth nose bleed.

Got midwife and anti d clinic this morning.

Fleurchamp · 27/04/2015 07:12

Sorry just catching up.

So, I think it might be better to go for the cabrio fix (will need to check that it fits then chassis to my pram) and the easy fix ISO fix base and hope that by next spring summer there are better options for longer term rear facing and/ or just go for something like the Britax then?

la the pearl is just forward facing. It's the pearl 2 and the 2 way base that does both.

Blows.my.tiny.mind.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/04/2015 07:23

I think the whole thing is ridiculously overcomplicated and they've obviously done it to make money.

Grr...as if this all isn't expensive enough!

WilHarlot · 27/04/2015 07:32

You're so right La.

Purpleball · 27/04/2015 07:40

My mind is officially blown.

My brother has a seat that swivels for my niece. It's loads easier to put her in it. She's forward facing now as she's 2 but it's still easier to get her in. It's a Britax but I don't know which model. I know it was £350 though

DulcetMoans · 27/04/2015 07:42

Think I will need to add this to a list of 'things I need to stop procrastinating and actually research'. Maybe I am in baby denial, just not doing anything but I am very aware I am not doing anything so bit stressy!

Another Monday, FFS! I really don't want to go to work. Just got to get through to bank holiday weekend though...

I am having little leaks - not sure what it is - but twice now I've had a little gush of liquid. It's not wee! It's not like pints either but enough to soak pants. Is that normal?

Fleurchamp · 27/04/2015 08:06

I am having my GTT today.

I am starving and this makes me grumpy Angry

They are 5 minutes late already and it is doing nothing for my RAGE.

dulcet is it like CM?

I have a pain at the top of my leg. I think it might be a varicose vein. The joy.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/04/2015 08:34

Dulcet definitely not wee? If not I would check with mw just to be on safe side, that's what they are there for.

Hope it's ok fleur! I'm just about to leave for anti D clinic. Feel like it's another milestone as it's been in diary since my booking in appointment. Will also get to be measured so can find out how bub is doing. I feel really good at the moment in terms of size, the weight I gained early on now seems to be in proportion and bump feels the right size.

Dh is off up to London today to the big finals of his competition. If he wins this is potentially a lot of money!!!
