Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 26th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

He is pretty good really but he has his moments La! Stubborn wee shite at times... Distorted sense of fairness. E.g. Thinks it isn't fair he has to do the dishes if he also laid the table even tough we bought the food, cooked the food, bought the dishes and the bloody table too!

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 12:23

Ha! Pis I think that was me as a teenager! I did lots round house - ironing, shopping etc but would huff if asked to do extra.

WilHarlot · 26/04/2015 14:33

God I was a lazy-arsed teenager. God help anyone who asked me to help out. This will no doubt come back to bite me on the arse in a karmic fashion.

Still laughing at your mat leave jogging idea Fleur, although in fairness I'm sure some people manage it. It's pretty uncomfy trying to run with bazookas full of milk. I'm still hoping to get back into exercise 3 1/2 years after getting pregnant...

Fleurchamp · 26/04/2015 14:43

Ha! My DH had the same reaction wil

I am still in my pjs having watched the marathon from the comfort of my sofa Grin

I was a pretty good teen I think. My parents split up when I was 13 and me, my mum and sister lived a bit like house mates for years. Each doing their bit as my mum worked two jobs and my sister (who is 2 yrs older) worked weekends to keep us afloat financially. I actually look back at those days fondly even though, until I got a weekend job at 15/16, I did all the housework and quite a bit of the cooking. I was treated like an equal.

My DH plays his mini violin every time I talk about it Grin

teejayem · 26/04/2015 16:14

I am having a mid afternoon bath. I am also eating carrot sticks and hummus while sipping cold tonic water in said bath dirty bitch we went for a walk and now I'm sore so bath seemed logical. I might do this more often!

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 16:24

Fleur I love your mat leave fitness ambition!!! You go girl!

I joke to my colleagues that I'm going to use 'all the free time I'll have' to write scientific papers and start PhD.

Got travel system down from loft and put it all together to check bits are all there and it works with car seat. Car seat adapters WERE in the box after all! (Silly mr la said they weren't)

Have also put rest of our crap from nursery in loft so nursery is now just baby stuff Grin

Am working my way through apps for my job. So far out of 30 I've marked 2 for interview. Eek...

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 16:24

Mmmmmm bath...

Mmmmmm hummous...

WilHarlot · 26/04/2015 16:26

Sounds amazing Tee.

I should get up and sort dinner but have a little hot water bottle baby keeping me warm. They're so cute when they're not screaming.

ChatEnOeuf · 26/04/2015 17:20

Fleur I love your ambition. I can't run - too many joint issues - but I walk and climb. Dulcet I did loads of flat walking post DD and still found Snowdon a challenge a year later (carrying her part of the way, so should have been harder than usual, but I still felt rubbish!). I'd done a lot of short, sharp climbs from 6m onwards and they felt ok, so you may find you're good to go.

Keep that space, La 'tis yours. And at least you've found two to interview...better than nothing. Yay for the nursery set-up :)

Yes, Wil I think the knowledge makes things little worse - I know all about all the shit that can happen sometimes forget anyone does this in a normal fashion. But at least I know what they are looking for, and could contentedly interpret the heart rate tracing they were doing. Spent most of the weekend being ordered to rest, which is very dull. I normally walk at least 4-5 miles a day so I feel very fat and inactive and for no benefit - I'm still puffy, shoes don't fit, rings are off...huff. At least I'm at home.

Tee. Turd art Grin

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 19:27

Chat - it mustn't be easy having all that knowledge sometimes, but I'm glad you're taking it easy.

We made a fort for the cat today. I think we need a life

WilHarlot · 26/04/2015 19:37

Feel better soon Chat.

La I'd think that was a pretty awesome way to spend a Sunday.

Purpleball · 26/04/2015 19:48

Chat I think ignorance is bliss for some people but I have to know everything I can so I can weigh everything up. I know I don't have medical skills but I feel out of control if I don't know the full story.

We've been to parents for lunch, had my hair dyed, and played with niece and nephew - lovely family day Smile

Fleurchamp · 26/04/2015 19:50

I am researching car seats. It is sucking the life out of me. Why do they make it so fricking difficult?

Was supposed to be DH's job but somehow it is now on my list Sad

ZylaB · 26/04/2015 20:34

fleur if you work out what to do after the initial newborn car seat let me know! I haven't researched that bit and have no idea other than we want rear facing as the law is changing and we figure we'll stick with rear facing as it seems safer :)

Purpleball · 26/04/2015 20:47

Fleur let me know if you want any looking up on Which Smile

Might as well use it before I cancel it

LaLaLaaaa · 26/04/2015 20:47

I've got maxi cosi cabriofix which goes with familyfix base and you then move on to the maxi cosi pearl or similar at 9 months or max weight.

It will depend on your travel system - which one did you decide on?

WilHarlot · 26/04/2015 21:02

Do they do trampolines on Which Purple or is it just useful stuff?

Fleurchamp · 26/04/2015 21:14

I'm getting my sister's icandy pram. She had a pebble which fits the pram chassis.

The thing that is baffling me at the moment is whether to go for the 2 way base, for the two way pearl. I can't really find many places which sell it and so I can't quite work out the cost (Halfords do the duo pack but I think we will want family way).

Or am I thinking way too far ahead? Will they fit any isofix car points?

Hobbit19 · 26/04/2015 21:19

This is literally a different language to me! Luckily we are quite far off from pram buying!

teejayem · 26/04/2015 21:34

Aside from the faff aspect, do you need a base? We fitted the car seat today without it and it seems pretty secure. And surprisingly little ninnying about. I only ask becasue the Cosatto base is as much as the seat, and they do a seat which follows on from the hold seat we've got which doesn't require a base, and I'm a bit loathe to spend £120 on something I know I won't be able to sell on tight esp if I can get the next seat up in a few months.

Purpleball · 26/04/2015 21:36

No Wil no trampolines...sorry

Pud I went for a mooch round a big mothercare on my own and looked at each one and had a push, I worked out what I did and didn't want from one.

Purpleball · 26/04/2015 21:41

The bases sell well on ebay. We are going to get one as it will be used for 15 months and it's isofix which seems safer to me. Seat belts are a faff IME.

Fleurchamp · 26/04/2015 21:47

I have heard isofix is safer and babies should be rear facing until at least 15 months.

The pebble would last until up to 12 months and with the 2 way fix the pearl can be either rear or front facing and lasts until age 4.

Will be about £500 altogether for the two seats and the base Shock

Pisghetti · 26/04/2015 21:54

The 2way base is the one to go for if you want extended rear facing. I was going to get that base to go with the maxicosi Cabriofix which fits on the pram however I got a good deal on a Britax ERF seat (0-4 years) so got one for each car and just use the seatbelt for the maxicosi for now. As Tee says it feels pretty secure and is quick to do.

We'll switch her from the maxicosi when she's too heavy to carry around in it. I predict that'll be next week (fatty boom boom). I'm not sure if first size seats like the cabriofix or pebble will be suitable up to fifteen months will they? DS certainly wouldn't have fitted in one past nine months or so and he wasn't huge. If not then you might have to fork out for another seat/base to keep them rear facing until 15 months. I wanted to go for the full four years so narrowed my options that way.

Fleurchamp · 26/04/2015 21:59

pis that's why I was going to get the pebble and the pearl together so, as soon as the little one outgrows the pebble the pearl is ready.

I assume the britax just stays in the car? That's the other alternative, not using the car seat part of the travel system and just going for a car seat that stays where it is Confused
