Come put your feet up in the Zen den and let the dh's wait on us hand and foot whilst we nurture the fruit of their loins in our bellies :-)

I had a conversation with dh earlier about telling my mum. He wants to wait til 12 weeks, til we get 'proof' its actually there. He doesn't want to get their hopes up about the prospect of another grandchild for my mum, and first grandchild for mil. I said to him what if it goes wrong? Can I go to my mum then with the bad news or protect her yet again by keeping the fact that I was preg to myself bottled in?! Its so hard. I don't need this :-(

DH and I have agreed to tell our parents at 9/10 weeks. We want to do it in person but we want to be a bit further along before we tell them. It's weird though, it feels like it's such along way away when in reality it's only another 3weeks.

Welcome babs and gloopyghoul
Lovely scan piccy pug that's made
It all more real.

I'm feeling a bit flat about things at the mo. I don't know if it's the constipation (sorry tmi) the fact i want to keep my weight in check and am watching what I eat but by body has other ideas (have already put on 5lbs and I'm only eating 1500-1700 cal a day). Also have a few work stresses which I need to get on top of rather than buring my head in the sand.

Sorry I didn't want to moan about things. I think it's that, it's my first day off in 6 days and actually I'm going to have to do some work rather than having the day to do something with my DH and I'm annoyed with myself that I didn't manage my time better in the week so I could have had this day off.

Crap that continued to be a me me post. I'm off to the zen den with my decaf coffee to chill out for 30nin! Brew

GloopyGhoul · 19/04/2015 10:50

I know what you mean chops - I want to tell everyone! But I know it's sensible to wait a bit, not because it gets people's hopes up, but because me and Mr. Gloop need time for it to sink in.

Also, in our case, my EDD is 24th Dec, which is going to disrupt the Big Family Christmas FIL has planned! Whoops!

Is this number one or two for people?

chopsface · 19/04/2015 12:04

Number 1 for me!

I know what you mean about Christmas gloop! Cooked dinner for my parents last year so meant to be the in laws turn this year. Not gonna happen lol!

dojo feeling flat here too today :-( it seems like you work too much my dear. Don't you need to start taking it easier? Take care of yourself sweetie x

Chatted to dh. We are gonna wait til we get our booking appointment. Thing is I need to ask my mum about the family medical history to fill in the forms!

I've been bleeding rusty red blood since Friday evening and have on and off cramping Sad Keep switching between trying to stay positive to preparing myself for the worst. Just wish it would either stop or get heavier so I have an indication of where it's going.

dojo123 · 19/04/2015 13:07

Number 1 for me gloopy

GloopyGhoul · 19/04/2015 13:55

Oh, Pug, that must be rubbish. Can you get an appt tomorrow maybe? Just to try and put your mind at ease.

This is my 2nd. My daughter has just turned five, and I've forgotten everything. All the caffeine/food/advice...gone!

'Tis a terrible shame about Christmas, isn't it Chops. Guess we'll both have to stay at home & scoff Quality Street with our feet up. Damn. hahahaha that is what you get FIL for trying to organise me more than a year in advance

chopsface · 19/04/2015 15:09

Oh pug I hope you're ok my love? Have you spoken to anyone medical over the weekend for advice?

OP posts:
ThePug · 19/04/2015 16:01

It's now dark red and has some clots so think it's all going to be over. None coming out in my knickers but everytime I go to the loo it is dripping out and turning the water red. Not spoken to the hospital chops but pretty sure I'd just be told to wait and see, I had the scan on Friday (when I was only spotting brown) so doubt they'd do another one yet as will have to see if anything has grown since then to compare. Have no idea how I'm going to get through this week at work or what to do about going away on Friday. Feel like it's all gone to shit, basically.

Sorry for bringing the thread down Sad

babsbunny · 19/04/2015 16:42

Oh no pug. Are you ok love? You poor soul. Why don't you call the hospital. They may offer you some reassurance x

dojo123 · 19/04/2015 16:42

Oh pug I'm so sorry, I would really get it checked out though, as soon as you can just so they can confirm either way. Hugs to you. Sad

toadierocks · 19/04/2015 17:51

Ah Pug So sorry to hear that! Have you got another scan booked in? Best to call EPAC tomorrow morning if possible to try and figure out what is going on. It doesn't mean its all over, with DD I had two massive bleeds during the 1st trimester, one at 8 weeks and one at 12 so don't loose the hope just yet. Any good EPAC worth their salt will do as many scans as it takes to figure out/reassure you, I was in and out of mine like a yo-yo, that's what they're there for. Also if you want some reassurance tonight and to make sure you get seen tomorrow, call 111 if you're in the UK and they'll set up an appointment for tomorrow. Sending luck vibes and best wishes x

toadierocks · 19/04/2015 17:55

Dojo feeling your pain lovely with the weight gain, I've also put on a ridiculous amount in the last two weeks and I'm only eating about 1500 cal a day too. I do think it's mostly the constipation as I haven't been for dayssssss but I reckon my boobs weigh a good few pounds extra too. Try not to worry about it too much in the early day as usually by week 8-9 you get a little weight drop as your metabolic rate picks up. Also if you can get a bottle of syrup of figs then that's a good natural way to help shift some of the poo! Try and avoid the senokot and ducolux tho.... they're not great for pregnancy.

dojo123 · 19/04/2015 18:05

Thanks toadie. DH gas bought me some dried fruit (prunes, apricots, apples, pears) I don't really enjoy dried fruit that much so won't over eat them but know they'll do the job. Also had a decaf coffee which seem to help a bit.
I think it's the knowledge that I am going to be consultant lead due to having a bmi of over 35 but I don't want it to just keep going up and up before I see them at 12wks.
I am tempted to weigh my boobs on our kitchen scales as they seem to have just exploded on me!
Fx for any weight drop at 8/9wks.

Been thinking about you this morning Pug - hope you're okay.

babsbunny · 20/04/2015 14:27

Pug. I hope you are ok today and have got some answers x

ThePug · 20/04/2015 15:27

Thanks for all thinking of me. Rang the EPAC this morning and nurse agreed that if I can bear it, to wait until Thursday for a re-scan as anything sooner has a high probability of not being conclusive either way. Have been cramping, bleeding bright red and passed something which may or may not have just been a small clot this morning so I'm fairly resigned to bad news now. Had to tell my business partner this morning too as whatever happens this week might mean I can't do things I was meant to be doing (like flying 4500 miles on Friday).

I'll let you know the news on Thursday. Have to get to the open clinic for 8am then it'll depend how many other ladies are there how quickly I'll be seen.

toadierocks · 20/04/2015 15:29

Thoughts are with you pug Flowers

spinningirl10 · 20/04/2015 16:52

Pug, just popping in from the Mega Bus to send you a big hug. I'm keeping everything crossed for positive news on Thursday xx

GloopyGhoul · 20/04/2015 17:40

Oh, I do hope everything works out for you.

It is rather looking as though I spoke too soon. I had a faint positive on Saturday (period due Thurs) but this afternoon has been cramp-filled, and I'm pretty sure what I've got is a period, not 'spotting.'

Googled like crazy...I'd never even heard of a 'chemical pregnancy' until today, but it seems to fit.

chopsface · 20/04/2015 20:38

Sorry gloopy :-(

Sorry pug :-(

This is not a happy bus :-(

OP posts:
babsbunny · 21/04/2015 13:42

Oh ladies. So sorry x

ThePug · 21/04/2015 14:38

Gloopy I'm so sorry. There's so much more to TTC/pregnancy that we are all learning as we go along. It's a shame nobody ever teaches us this (very important) stuff.

I've just posted my update on the main Bumsnet bus because it was the first place I thought of to go to. Went to EPAC this morning as I was certain they'd get a conclusive answer today rather than waiting til Thursday for what I felt was the inevitable. Fetal pole has gone and, without being too graphic, sac is about to. Was sent home with pills to encourage things along and another set to take in 24 hours if needed. Re-scan first thing Friday to confirm everything has gone, hopefully.

Sorry I've had to post this news; I am rooting for all of you though so please go back to being a happy, chatty bus. I will join in again with the other set of Angry Pubes and hopefully I'll be back here before too long and manage to stick around a bit longer.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 21/04/2015 18:16

Oh ThePug. I am so very sorry. Please take care of yourself and I hope we will see you back here before too long. You are in my thoughts.
