Come put your feet up in the Zen den and let the dh's wait on us hand and foot whilst we nurture the fruit of their loins in our bellies :-)

I know, bless her :-(

Today I feel 100% totally normal. I'm wondering if I imagined my bfp now. I can why some people choose to continue to poas! Lol

Yes the yellow book/a4 folder are my maternity notes. The DH and I had a good look through them and the bounty pack we were given last night. Lots of info to digest but I'm sure it will get clearer over the next few weeks and months.
No real symptoms at all today, fearing this maybe the lull before the storm! It's my DHs birthday next Wednesday and I am just hoping that I'm not so shattered I don't enjoy our meal out (booked for 8pm as dh is having to work) or feeling sick as a dog with morning sickness that I can barely eat anything.

Also thinking of Sparkly today on the ttc page. Will hop over and see how she go on.

chopsface · 16/04/2015 15:11

I will be 7-8 weeks when we go to Malta on Hol. I'm hoping the sickness hasn't kicked in then! I was planning lots of trips to see ruins and walled cities and possibly a boat trip. I didn't pay £800 to see inside of a Maltese bathroom! Lol! At least we are self catering so I can chill in our appartment and eat bland food rather than have to go down for dinner or out to dinner.

Just filled out our booking in forms. With the family history bit, how close family do you think it means? I assume parents, grandparents, sibling. But what about uncles/aunts?

OP posts:
ThePug · 16/04/2015 15:24

chops What questions does it ask? I don't know much about family health history other than my parents and I don't want to have to ask yet! Mine was booked in over the phone so haven't had any information about what the appointment will cover yet.

Hope you'll be ok for Malta. The coastal air might be helpful anyway! I fly to Vancouver next Friday for a 5 day work trip (when I will be approx 7 weeks). I'm dreading it to be honest, especially if I still have the spotting and even more so if sickness kicks in. 9.5 hour flights with three male, much older colleagues. Yay Hmm

chopsface · 16/04/2015 17:50

pug they asked about diabetes, heart disease, genetic conditions, epilepsy, all sorts. Dh's sis had fits as a child does that count?! F knows.

Overdid it this afternoon. Went for a walk and got all dizzy. Now I feel like I could just go to bed. Really really dreading meeting my friends for dinner tonight. Just gonna eat dinner and leave. They can stay for a drink if they like! (its my birthday meal by the way). Thing is they know we have been ttc for years with difficulty and we were waiting for fertility treatment. Will they guess I'm preg?!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 16/04/2015 18:07

ThePug I had two days of brown spotting at about 8 weeks and the midwife said it was completely normal and fine if that makes you feel better.

I told work today. Feels very weird!

ThePug · 16/04/2015 18:19

Oh chops sorry you're feeling wiped out tonight. Hope you manage to have a nice time with your friends though. If anyone queries the no alcohol you could say it was recommended by the fertility consultant ahead of the latest upcoming treatment? Or if you're going to need an excuse to leave early just tell them you're feeling really under the weather so don't feel like booze.

Heir thank you so much for that. I thought I remembered you saying something about brown spotting but couldn't find it when I looked.

Ooh what did work say? Did anyone claim to have already guessed?!

I think I might end up having to tell my colleague next week before we go away (the conference kicks off with a Wine & Cheese networking evening ffs!)

HeirToTheIronThrone · 16/04/2015 20:24

Well I only told my line manager, and only because we were having a 'return to work' briefing as I have passed some sort of limit for sick days recently... I have genuinely had horrific cough/cold thing but a pregnancy announcement certainly got me off the hook! He said he had had his suspicions, but I think mostly just because I am an early 30s married woman! I won't tell anyone else yet, although there's a big leaving do in a couple of weeks and I'll be outed quickly for not drinking so I'll probably say something then.

ThePug · 17/04/2015 12:20

Shamelessly copy & pasting my update from the December thread...

I think we are ok! I told the obstetrician I was 6+6 going from LMP but I didn't think I'd ov'ed until CD18. She did an abdominal scan but was having trouble seeing anything so got in the super experienced sonographer who did an internal dildocam and found the yolk sac straight away and a teeny tiny 1.8mm fetal pole. They said that it all looked good and matched with the dates I thought. They said they wouldn't expect to see a heartbeat until it is at least 7mm (and it should now grow about 1mm everyday), but possibly not even then so they have booked me in for another scan 2 weeks today when I should be about 8 weeks. They said the brown spotting is probably harmless and as far as they could see at this stage everything looked ok, but obviously couldn't give me any guarantees. So please all keep sending your positive thoughts!

Also had a good chat with my diabetes consultant who is very happy with my sugar levels and will see me again when I go back in 2 weeks. Apparently I will have to keep going at least once every month, possibly more often for the first two trimesters and then at least every 2 weeks towards the end, so I'll be getting very familiar with the hospital!

I was there for over an hour and a half. Switched my phone off until I got home then claimed I'd had network issues when colleague emailed asking if I was ok as he couldn't get me on the phone. I really want to wait until the next scan before telling anyone now but need to come up with cover story for work trip (will be meeting others there who I only see at conferences and the last one might have involved 3am drinking in the hotel hot tub which I obviously won't be joining in with if a repeat is suggested this time!)

Hi girls. Is there a seat free?

Babsbunny. #1. Edd(according to NHS) New year's eve....

babsbunny · 17/04/2015 22:49

Oh and I'm 33

GloopyGhoul · 18/04/2015 09:46

Hello all! I was on the first bumsnet fred, but it moved so quickly I gave up. Grin
I pee'd this morning...a faint line is still a line, right?

Giddymamma · 18/04/2015 10:31

Morning all! Hi babs! Congratulations gloopy, we will accept all lines! :)
Pug, so pleased everything went well! Xx
I had a sneaky eight week scan on Thursday. Bean is just starting to visibly change into distinct head and body and we could see a little heartbeat flickering away. :) x

chopsface · 18/04/2015 12:41

Yay for scan and heartbeat giddy!

Yay you have arrived babs! Congrats on your bfp. Has is sunk in yet?

Hi gloopy how many weeks/dpo are you? How many sticks have you peed on? Tell us more!

Had to tell the health and safely guy at work so I know what I shouldn't be touching/doing as I work with chemicals and do a lot of manual handling. I've known him 10years and he even mentioned maternity leave at my appraisal last year so it wasn't a surprise to him! We were trying to work out how I could get away with not doing stuff whilst still keeping discreet! Feel weird him knowing and not our mums!

Talking of mums. I want to tell my mum :-(

OP posts:
Giddymamma · 18/04/2015 13:01

Aw, chops, are you trying to wait til 12 weeks or summat? Tell her if it makes you happy? Relaxed mummy = happy bean?! First time round I didn't tell my mum for 16 weeks! I wanted to wait til 12 weeks and then I wanted to tell her face to face and she kept being busy on weekends for ages so I couldn't go and break the news!

GloopyGhoul · 18/04/2015 13:09

Thanks for the welcome. I'm trying hard to to get ridiculously excited (I'm guessing this thread will not help with that) but my period is three days late, and I've been 27/28 days without fail since I came off the pill in October.

We've been not trying to not get pregnant for about four or five months, but this cycle was the first I actually tried to time the sex & the ovulation.

I did one test late last night, but wasn't massively disheartened that it was negative, as it was just a cheapo one, and late at night. First thing this morning gave me a faint positive, but I don't think I'll really believe it until I do another one!

GloopyGhoul · 18/04/2015 13:09

*not to

chopsface · 18/04/2015 16:30

Fingers crossed for you gloopy I tested 3 days late and got a really strong positive not helping sorry the bumsnet lot are insisting its twins as so strong lol! Was it a frer you used? Did you use opks to time ov this month? When did you get your positive? I got my positive opk on cd12 and tested on cd30.

OP posts:
chopsface · 18/04/2015 16:32

Sorry just re read your post, you used cheapo. Yes they are rubbish. Treat yourself to a proper test. I got my bfp on two Lloyds chemist own brand as they didn't stock frer.

OP posts:
GloopyGhoul · 18/04/2015 17:04

Thanks chops - nope, no official timing, just googled it & put my dates in some calculator. I'm just lucky that I may have got it right!

babsbunny · 18/04/2015 17:34

Hey girls. Don't think it's sunk in at all yet. Don't think it will til I go to see doc. Bad timing as we have just moved, so am frantically trying to register with a new one!
Receptionist was lovely when I told her why I was in a rush to get registered. She said there were lots of options for care around us, and we can self refer if we want. Don't have a clue what that means, so will try to get a docs appt for next week to clarify.

Gloopy, congratulations! Let us know when you have poas again. Get an free. I used an frer. Got a feint but definite line 10 dpo (CD23) and a much stronger line yesterday at 11dpo. Ridiculously early and wouldn't have tested, only I felt pants since Tues. Thought I had a bug, but then my bbs got sore, which I never have.

I'm off over to lurk on ttc board. Any news from sparkly?

chopsface · 18/04/2015 18:02

Can't believe you had such early symptoms babs! I only got suspicious at 15dpo when it felt like i had a hangover (and no af of course!) Boobs are normal. The doctor will probably tell you you tested too early as you haven't had a missed period yet. My GP didn't want to see me, I just had a phone consultation where he put down my last period date in my notes and told me not to drink/smoke. I had to pick up a referral form from reception and send it off to the midwife 'hub' and wait for them to contact me with a 8-10weeks appointment. Only posted it yesterday and I want a date already!

OP posts:
babsbunny · 18/04/2015 19:17

Chops, I am a bit shocked too. I didn't think I'd know anything about symptoms for 6-7 weeks. Perhaps I did just have a bug and its coincidence. I do have a weak stomach though. Fright, stress, upset, hot summer days, ov all make me queasy and pukey. Prob doesn't bode well for the upcoming 10 weeks Hmm

babsbunny · 18/04/2015 19:21

Tbh I don't know when my testing date should have been. My cycles since November have ranged from 24 to 29 days. They were getting longer. But I ovd early this month so reckon would have been 26/27 days only.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 18/04/2015 21:41

Chops I told my mum the day after I did the test! It was Mother's Day so felt appropriate somehow. I figure I'd want to cry on her if it went wrong anyway.

Hello Babs and Gloopy!
