Come put your feet up in the Zen den and let the dh's wait on us hand and foot whilst we nurture the fruit of their loins in our bellies :-)

Whaaaaaaat? They tell you to use a pharmacist instead of your GP for stuff like that. Hubby read that some antihistamines can act as an antiemetic too.... Hmmmm...

Just had a call from dh, he was picking up his prescription on the way home from work so I asked him to see if they had a seasick wrist thingy whilst he was there. So when he called he said he was in Boots! I said why are you in Boots!? He said they didn't have any bands in our local pharmacy so he drove to Boots for me! What a star, I love him and stuff Grin

Ahh chops what a lovely DH you have. The sea sickness bands really helped my friend when she was suffering so I hope they help you too.

How are you doing today? I'm feeling a little in no mans land at the mo. No sickness (I know I shouldn't be complaining) not as tired as I was last week, no other symptoms (apart from what's left of thrush) it's now making me wobble if everything is progressing ok. I know I am probably being stupid. The scan still seems such a long way off (4wk tomorrow)

chopsface · 28/04/2015 17:37

I know what you mean dojo yesterday I felt like I was at deaths door and today I feel pretty good! A few waves of nausea when I have an empty tummy. Got my seabands on though so maybe its an instant cure?! 30% of women don't get nausea though, like dh's cousin's perfect glowing two pregnancies, bitch

I've been getting worried about our holiday next week. I've read so much conflicting info online about travel in the first trimester and horror stories of ladies misscarrying on arrival at their hotel blah blah.... Sad

dojo123 · 28/04/2015 18:00

I think if we stopped doing everything because we were pregnant, life would be pretty dull! I think that if you can move about a bit on the plan or wiggle your toes to prevent dvt that we help. Just be aware of what you're eating and if you're worried don't eat it or ask for something else.
Again (I have too many friends and family who are pregnant at the mo) my SIL recently when to Greece. She was 11wk at the time, had a great time with no worries.

Giddymamma · 28/04/2015 18:06

Hi all! Been on me hols. Just to Cornwall for a week with the parents but was lovely.

Chops, I went snowboarding in Austria for a week when I was ten weeks pregnant with ds. Doctor was all for it when I checked with him before going. Fresh air completely knocked my morning sickness on the head and I got loads of sleep and relaxation, which must be good for little beans? Ds appears to be unaffected anyway, he is a belter. :) I am sure you will be fine! X

I am now concerned after reading your earlier post as not only have I dyed my hair but I hate it and so want to dye it back....

chopsface · 28/04/2015 20:26

Dh says I have been reading too much.....

It does say on the nhs website about hair dye. It said ladies prefer not to dye their hair in 1st trimester. Something about the chemicals entering the body through the scalp and hilights are better as they don't tend to touch the scalp when they are done. Also says to make sure all the windows are open and stuff. Check it out.

Giddymamma · 28/04/2015 20:59

Ah gads. Got it done at hairdressers - told them situation and asked if okay, they said it was...... Fricking frick frick....

coffeenut · 29/04/2015 00:55

Hi everyone, bfp on sunday so I'm due on 6/1/16 (4 weeks today...). I wasn't on the bumsnet bus much at all but I do recognise a lot of you, so I hope it's okay if I join in?

Loads of people fly and dye their hair in first trimester (not to mention wear nail polish, use bleach etc etc etc), with no ill effects. I'm sure it will be fine Smile

coffeenut · 29/04/2015 00:55

Obvs not fly and dye at the same time! Confused

Giddymamma · 29/04/2015 06:44

Morning coffeenut, congratulations! :) and thank you. Slightly disappointed fly and dye isn't a thing. Perhaps we should start a chain of salons in airports, for last minute holiday hair touch ups....

dojo123 · 29/04/2015 09:42

Welcome coffee you'll notice this bus moves along at a more steady pace then the main bus. Well it is carrying precious cargo. Grin

Well I fell asleep on the sofa last night. Barely had the energy to remove my makeup last night. Still feeling exhausted this morning, only just had my shower but want to go back to bed not get ready for work.

chopsface · 29/04/2015 12:31

Welcome coffee I recognize you :-) congrats on the bfp! I used to be victoria401 if that helps? This is my grad name Grin

Keep having waves of tiredness and nausea today. Nothing like Monday though as I thought I was dying!! The trick is to eat, all the time! Lol!

Pharmacists should advise! Annoyed they sent you away dojo

chops so pleased for your sister – hopefully you can go through it together! And what a fab DH you have! Just enjoy your holiday next week, the rest will be good for you.

Giddy glad you had a nice holiday

I haven’t really been on the main bus over the weekend or this week yet – it is moving so fast and I keep falling asleep on the sofa in the evenings when I would normally catch up. Went to yoga last night and told my instructor – she is basically treating me as if I am made of glass! Was a bit annoyed as I feel I can do all the lunges and things while I have no bump.

I also told my boss today - it is still early but I have told a few friends at work and wouldn't want it getting back to my boss and me not being the one to tell her! She is very pleased for me and gave me a cuddle which made me feel very comfortable about the whole thing Grin

Mummyofonesofar · 29/04/2015 13:30

And welcome coffee glad you found us Wink

chopsface · 29/04/2015 18:21

I believe its dojo with the sister mummy Wink can't imagine my sister having any more kids, she moans about the 2 she's got!

Told my yoga teacher last week. He said I didn't really need to do anything different until I had a bump and then you do open twists instead. Can't imagine doing upward dog though..... Had to tell another senior in work today as he's in charge of a specialist procedure only a few of us are trained in and I can no longer do. He wasn't best pleased as he's gonna have to figure out how he can use the few trained staff to cover the next yay amount of months. Sorreeeee I said but I wasnt going to put my life on hold!

Mummyofonesofar · 29/04/2015 19:00

Oops chops yes dojo's sister!

I wish my yoga teacher had said that! But I'm quite new to yoga which is why she may have been worried. But I'm fine!!

dojo123 · 29/04/2015 21:41

Ah no worries mummy. Sis will test next Friday so fx.

I'm with you in the falling asleep on the sofa. Getting ready for bed now!

Actually my mind is a little blank at the mo so I'm not going to write anymore and instead wish you all a good night.

coffeenut · 30/04/2015 00:35

I was told not to do yoga for the first 12 weeks?! Not sure why. I did preggo yoga with my first and would love to do it again, but classes around here all say 12 weeks + .. Maybe it's a liability thing?

chops I remember - I think you name changed just before you got your bfp!

GP appointment today to get blood etc done and book my ob. Had to do a clearblue again this morning as feel no symptoms at all ... it said 2-3 weeks so I think that's okay (am 4 weeks + 1).

wotsits1 · 30/04/2015 07:13

I cannot quite believe I'm here! Eeeek!!!

wotsits1 · 30/04/2015 07:14

just reading back......

wotsits1 · 30/04/2015 08:02

Just read back through all the posts so am up to speed!

I need to research the do's and dont of pregnancy as so much has changed!!! What to eat... what not to eat... what exercise to do... what not to do.... its a minefield!!!

Are we all ready for a long weekend?

Mummyofonesofar · 30/04/2015 09:47

wotsits That is how I feel having an older DS, I feel like I am doing it all from the beginning again! I know I can eat seafood this time around which I couldn't before - as long as it is cooked - but I will miss bloody steak Sad

I managed to stay up until 10.15 last night watching XXX2, ok well I did miss a few fighting scenes nodding off but DP kept nudging me, but I was so tired this morning I slept in and was late for work Hmm early night tonight I think.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 30/04/2015 13:09

Wotsits! Amazing to see you here!

I am soooooo nauseous today. Bleeeeeeeeeeeeuurghh. I thought it had gone away a few days ago but no such luck. I am 11+1, please say it all magically switches off in 6 days??

dojo123 · 30/04/2015 13:44

Heir I'm sorry but I don't think it does Sad Hope you're feeling better soon.

Wotsit Yay you're back on the bus! Good to have you on here.

Mummy Well done for staying up past 10pm. I really couldn't function past 9:30 last night.

Chops How are you doing today? any more cakes smelling like something from the bottom of the bin?

Coffee I know, It's weird when you don't have any symptoms and you have to check you still are. Good sign on the clear blue though.

Well I manage to eat breakfast but by the time I get into work I am feeling rubbish. No sickness but a lot of nausea. Manage to calm it with a ginger and lemon tea which is a relief.
DH and I are going to Swindon on Saturday as they have a big Mamas and Papas, Mothercare and Designer Outlet. We're only window shopping at this stage but am looking forward to it.
Then it's the Jazz festival in town this weekend so might see if we can nip along to some of the free events.

chopsface · 30/04/2015 15:36

heir my nausea magically switched on bang on 6 weeks so I don't see why it should switch off bang on 12! Lol! Here's hoping! bleugh can't cope with 6 more weeks of this
