Can i join? :)

...shy wave hello…. and first post (after lurking for many years)

Just tested postitve LITERALLY one hour ago… still in shock!! We weren't going to start trying until Xmas….so this has come as a shock.

Going to test again in the morning, but feel weird/pregnant, I'm 4 days late - and have two thick double lines on the test stick. But will check again in the morning

Just feel very shocked! Shock

aletea · 07/04/2015 22:19

Congratulations!

ThePug · 07/04/2015 22:42

Congratulations Flamin and welcome to the thread Smile

sparkle You probably won't have to tell the receptionist what the appointment is about so you don't have to say 'I'm pregnant' out loud to a stranger just yet if that is what is worrying you! After my appt today I phoned the midwife straight away and the earliest appt they had for me was 5th May, when I should be about 10 weeks. They said they like to see people between 8-10, so I'm now extra glad I didn't wait any longer to get the ball rolling otherwise I'd have been 'late' for my first appt!

ThePug · 07/04/2015 22:43

Oh, and I just watched my first ever episode of OBEM. Made DH sit and watch too. Still hasn't quite connected that all that should be happening to me and my body in a few months time, all being well.

Congrats flamin and hello!

Pug try not to freak yourself out with OBEM too much... it will be all good! although I am obsessed with it since DS1 and bawl every time a baby is born (can't see that improving in the next 8 months!!) Agree Sparkle, it annoys me a bit too. Not sure it's a very balanced representation. But still a good watch!

Hope symptoms are kind to you all today ladies. Still just knackered here...think that's probably normal with a toddler though...

Namechanged101 · 08/04/2015 06:44

Thanks all for being so welcoming :)
Congrats to Flamin!
I've been too excited to sleep been up since 4.30 madness! My head is full of plans now trying to think what I've already got/need to buy again , just want to tell people!
Has anyone told anyone other than their partner yet?

Exciting Sparkle! How old is your ds?
I think we might tell both sets of parents after next week (big foot birthday next week so will wait until after that). Not sure how I'll last that long!
I waiting until 10 weeks before I said a word last time to anyone but oh!

alphabook · 08/04/2015 07:32

Welcome and congratulations Flamin!

I've started watching OBEM since finding out I was pg and I sob every time a baby is born!

ineedsomeinspiration · 08/04/2015 07:57

Welcome to all the new pregnant ladies.

Namechange we have told family but no one else. Might tell HR at work in a few weeks as then if any of my appointments are on the days I work they give me paid time off.

I'm getting a bit bored with OBEM it only ever seems to show the births with complications and no active labours. Did like the fact that two ladies beat the doctors intervention last night, that was a bit like my first labour.

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 08/04/2015 08:14

Welcome flamin and namechanged, bus is filling up!

I also watched OBEM last night and balled my eyes out. I can't help it - it starts at the opening credits and just gets worse. When DH got home, halfway through, I was a mess. In my PJs, slouched on sofa, mascara running down my face and a snotty rag clutched in my hand. God knows why he wanted to make a baby with me. ATTRACTIVE.

I spent the weekend with the PIL, who enjoy the booze a bit. Meant I had to accept a glass and force DH to furtively down it when they weren't looking. Just felt it was too soon to say - the day after our BFP!

Anyone else doing more tests?? I felt like I'd made it all up, so did a ClearBlue last night and it was a big juicy positive. Not sure what I expected!

6+3 today! Smile

Metalhead · 08/04/2015 08:17

Congrats on all the new BFPs!

I've also started watching OBEM again, though I'm another one who cries every time! Hmm I'm considering asking for an ELCS this time (if I get that far), did the whole natural birth thing last time without any drugs and found it pretty horrendous, so might try the complete opposite this time...

Metalhead · 08/04/2015 08:21

Oh, and I did another IC test yesterday as well whatsfor, the test line was as dark as the control line! So im going to stop poas now. Honest.

MoreCakeMoreCake · 08/04/2015 08:28

Freaking out slightly as I POAS this morn (cheapo ebay test) and it was a BFN. Wasn't with first wee so maybe that's why. Aargh. Should I go buy better tests and POAS again? Have had 3 BFPs over the easter weekend with FMU...
Am only 4+2 anyway so maybe cheapo tests won't pick up low HCG levels.
Advice pls!!

I would get a FRER morecake and test again tomorrow morning. I got a very faint line on an eBay cheapy when the FRER gave me quite a clear line.

megarobotdiscoparty · 08/04/2015 09:00

sparkle - snap! Our DS is 22 months. We were on our last few gos at fertility treatment and I'd just about got my head around him being an only child. Never thought he might have a sibling so close in age. Still reeling. Hope this is a sticky bean!

namechanged have told mum and two friends so far. Think I might tell work early this time as my job is quite pressured and I'm hoping my manager will be understanding enough to take it easy on me for a bit! Only been in the job 6 months...argh... mind you that's better than the 10 days I had in my last job before I got pregnant with DS1!

metal I totally get that... our natural birth was a straightforward success on paper but I still get flashbacks. Bloomin' back to back babies. Would like to feel more in control for longer this time, need to figure that bit out.

Sending strength and calm to all the POAS addicts!

MoreCakeMoreCake · 08/04/2015 09:00

Thanks ladies. Have just retrieved cheapo test FROM THE BIN and there's a faint line. Might be evap line though. Will get some better tests and serves me right for buying rubbish ones!
For the first time this morn have got sore boobs & strange "stretching" sensation in tummy so all good signs ??

Sweets27 · 08/04/2015 09:54

Congrats flamin and namechanged!! Grin

Whatsforye, wow 6+3 seems so far away for me - I'm just 4+6, and time is going so slowly... Hmm

Sweets27 · 08/04/2015 09:56

morecake don't panic, ICs are rubbish and you probably just didn't wait enough earlier on!

I have the "stretching" thing too, sort of like dull period pains but more uncomfortable than painful. Plus sore boobs. No other symptoms though. Argh hurry up next few weeks, I want to get past this and stop being nervous...

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 08/04/2015 10:12

sweets don't worry, it'll be revised back at my scan so am probably really only 4+something based on ovulation (the 6 is based on LMP). And I know what you mean - 3 days since a BFP and it feels like forever!

mega and sparkle my DD is 22 months too! Don't suppose either of you were on the May 2013 babies thread, were you....?
