thank you. I just went to the loo again and there was a bit of pink when I wiped. I also had about 5 days of spotting when I should've had my period. I keep thinking back to a few months ago when similar happened but I never took a test then so who knows what that was.

chopsface · 14/04/2015 14:39

Hi can I tentatively join here? Just found out I'm preg this morning and I will be 4+1. This is our first and we have been ttc 2.5 years and were about to start fertility treatment! Today is my 35th birthday and its been surreal! EDD Dec 21st!

BoobsTooBig · 14/04/2015 14:39

Hi very nervously marking my spot on here. Second baby fingers crossed for a healthy sticky bean. DS is 11m2w so 1st birthday round the corner for him.
Got my BFP yesterday at 12 dpo so keeping fingers crossed. Will try digital also x

Oh I didn't read that it was your birthday how cool is that! Brilliant news. Withalittlesparkle we this was our first month of ttc so we had planned for this age gap.

chopsface · 14/04/2015 15:12

Hi boobs! Yes number 1 for me. No idea what to expect! Petrified! Got a digi to do tomorrow too. But af is actually late for me, I think I'm 17dpo.

Sweets27 · 14/04/2015 15:25

Don't panic tammy, but go to your GP just for peace of mind. They might test your HCG levels and ask you to go back in a few days to check they're still increasing. Bleeding seems surprisingly common, though so try not to worry too much Smile

Welcome chops, saw your BFP post on the TTC threads - congratulations!!!

Welcome boobs as well, many congratulations on the BFP. Wow, you are going to have two little ones very close together in age! How nice for your DS to have a little sibling so soon.

And serenity, how exciting to meet a fellow fitter on this thread! I'm on just 100mg a day of lamotrigine, but yes, also taking 5mg folic acid. I'm a little nervous at the moment, as apparently now is the time that the neural tube is forming (around 6 weeks) and that's what can be affected by lamotrigine and needs the extra folic acid. Risks are really low, I know, but any increase from the average person's risk level is a bit nerve-wracking! Do you have any fits usually, or does your lamotrigine fully control them? Apparently pregnancy hormones can decrease your likelihood of fitting, which would be nice. I'd give the hospital/midwife a quick call if I were you, to check whether you should be classified as high risk. Maybe different providers take different approaches, and my GP is unusually cautious - but it's worth at least flagging it up to your midwife in case she mistakenly overlooked it before.

NicNak22 · 14/04/2015 15:27

Hi chops, welcome, I saw your bfp on the Ttc bus.

How are you feeling now?

tammie49 · 14/04/2015 15:46

thanks Sweets I am going to ring first thing for an appt as you tend to need to call on the day. everything is so new I'm just worrying all the time! I was with my friend today and I told her as I knew she'd guess anyway and she was able to reassure me too. I'm focusing so hard on not getting too excited! will see what the Dr says tomorrow.
I have backache and cramps but it's all pretty mild. I'm just going to take it easy and hope for the best. thanks everyone.

ChandlersFarang · 14/04/2015 16:17

Hello hello ladies!! Congrats to everyone on the BFPs and hopefully lots of future Elf babies..!!

So I got my BFP at 9DPO, which was over a week ago. Today am 4+3, aka 17DPO. Am seriously cautious because I have been TTC my first baby since Dec 2013 (16 months!!!!)... In that time I only ovulated about 3 times due to hormonal issues (I actually conceived on the last ovulation too, in Dec 14, but sadly lost it at 4+5).

I live overseas but moving back to UK in summer, when I was due to start fertility treatment. This cycle I ovulated on CD32 (luckily I know this or my EDD would be way too soon - may have some battles ahead with docs!!) so I have a few fears that the egg won't be up to the job. Saying that, there are plenty of success stories for late ovulators out there, so we shall see. Eek! Grin

Chops, nice to see you here!! Wink who'd have thought it years ago when we first 'met' on the busses all those millions of months ago that we'd both be here right now?!

Stats: age 32, DC 1, EDD 20 Dec.

Good luck everyone... hoping my stay on the AN board is longer than last time!!! X x

buntingbingo · 14/04/2015 16:20

Hi all. I'm tentatively joining. Got a v v faint bfp yesterday and again today. It would be a dd of Christmas day (argh) this would be my 3rd dc. Not sure how I feel about it. Mainly pleased, but worried about money, housing, time, etc etc and also selfishly disappointed as I am just starting to get my life back a bit, youngest dc will be 4 soon. But anyway congratulations to you all and big love to all the Christmas baby's being brewed Smile

HariboBrenshnio · 14/04/2015 17:03

Congratulations to all those joining us Smile

The tiredness has kicked in with full force today for me. As soon as DP was back from work I handed DS over and have retreated to my bed!

dojo123 · 14/04/2015 17:29

Welcome to all the newbie BAPS. waves at chops

5+6 today, have my first midwife appt tomorrow so because I am a mad woman and still don't think it's real I peed on two sticks I had left over from two weeks ago. Positive lines came up almost as soon as they were dipped so I think I should just trust my body now.

Am meant to be having a nap before I go an collect DH but I've been too busy catching up.

Whirlwindinthecity · 14/04/2015 17:59

Hi all! Tentatively boarding the bus at 6 weeks 6 days (ish). Age 28, DC1, EDD 2nd Dec. Had a scan yesterday that showed a heartbeat so it's all a little more real now, but still aware that there's an awfully long way to go.

Serenity05 · 14/04/2015 18:18

Welcome to all the new ladies and happy birthday Chops! What an amazing present for you!

Sweets, my seizures are pretty well controlled, as long as I get enough sleep and don't drink to excess. I am a bit worried about how lack of sleep will affect me when the baby is here but that's a bridge to cross waaaaaaaaay in the future.

I know what you mean about any increased risk being scary. From what I've read about lamotrigine, it's one of the safest anti-epilepsy meds to take during pregnancy though. There is a possible link to cleft lip/palate but they're both fixable. I've been taking the folic acid since December so I'm keeping fingers crossed everything will be okay. But yeah, it will worry me until I know for sure.

TerryTheGreenHorse · 14/04/2015 18:51

Bunting I feel the same. I always said I wanted three but now it's happened I feel really weird about it. I am not sure if it's my hormones or what, I am a Hot Mess at the moment.

Sweets27 · 14/04/2015 19:23

Sounds like we are in a really similar position serenity. At least we're on the last risky drug. Hasn't thought about impact of lack of sleep once baby arrives - argh! Confused

Big welcome to the newbies. We have our first Christmas Day EDD - how exciting, bunting! Grin

Sweets27 · 14/04/2015 19:23
  • least risky drug, not last!

Terrythegreenhorse glad it's not just me, I'm worried it will be a ' be careful what you wish for' situation. Also not keen on telling family I think they will be Shock

megarobotdiscoparty · 14/04/2015 19:28

Terry I've been really up and down too. We tried for so long to conceive DS that I felt nothing but joy when we got our bfp...This time all I can see is the difficulties ahead! Can't seem to snap out of it. Definitely hormones. Need to be more excited about this potential new human being - and it IS really exciting (if not a little nerve wracking at this stage!)

shinysparklythings · 14/04/2015 19:40

Hello to all the newbies! The bus is getting really full :) with yup it's nice to see the later due dates means time is moving along.

My right nipple has been so painful today :( does anyone else have lopsided pain? My brain is also turning mushy which isn't great when trying to teach a* grade topics at school. I keep saying words round the wrong way, think "car the drive" rather than "drive the car".

I haven't bean as queasy today or yesterday. For those of you that aren't first timers did your morning sickness/Nausea come and go at first??? panicking already

TerryTheGreenHorse · 14/04/2015 19:40

I was really bad yesterday crying on and off.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Sorry your feeling the same mega, maybe it's the hormones making is feel like this?

I'm DREADING telling my mother. We don't get any help with DC anyway but I'll sure they'll all stick their oar in to tell is we are mental.

HariboBrenshnio · 14/04/2015 19:55

Shiney - sickness on and off is totally normal. I'm sure it'll be back at be most inconvenient time! With DS, I only actually threw up a couple of times but felt queasy from 8-12 weeks on and off.
