Hi ladies, it is with slight disbelief that I'm coming aboard!
I got my BFP on Tuesday evening - totally unexpected considering I've just been having tests to see if there was anything wrong with me!
Basically, from when I ovulated in February through to early March, I had terrible pains around my right ovary. I went to my GP and she referred me for blood tests and an ultrasound (I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17 - been on the pill for nearly 12 years so the symptoms were gone but the worry was it was coming back). I had my day 21 bloods which came back fine (obviously!) and an ultrasound a week and a half ago, which showed signs of there having been a follicular cyst which had burst, causing the pain.
I was due to have day 3 bloods taken last week but I cancelled the appointment when AF didn't arrive and despondently thought there must be something wrong with me. I spoke to my GP on Tuesday when she rang me to go through my test results and when I told her my period still hadn't come she asked me if I'd done a test. Pretty obvious question but I never, ever thought I could be pregnant this month, so I hadn't bothered. She asked me to do one anyway, 'just in case'. So I did when I got home, all casual, not expecting anything to happen... and then two solid lines appeared and I flipped out! I couldn't believe it so I went out and bought a digital test - another BFP. I bought another one in the morning and after the third BFP I finally allowed myself to believe this is really happening!
Got my first midwife appointment booked in for Monday. We haven't told anyone else yet but we're seeing FIL and StepMIL this weekend and I think we're going to have to tell them because they will notice that I'm not drinking.
My EDD is 9th December. I know it's incredibly early days so I'm trying not to get too excited, but because of all the problems I had when I was younger I really thought TTC was going to be a long, hard journey. This feels like a little miracle!
My stats: 31 YO, DH 32, TTC since December '14, EDD 09/12/2015.
