Cake, hope your friend is ok, how awful for her x

lovesmycake · 24/04/2015 15:33

Have not heard from her and I'm a bit sensitive about me not being the person she would want to hear from right now. Think I will wait a day or two and get in touch. I do know she is out of surgery and it went well.

Excitingtimesahead · 24/04/2015 21:32

Sounds like a good idea jessica although I'm not in Bristol area Hmm

Really in need of some reassurance... Have woken up this morning and having some brown discharge (old blood) and am panicking... Have called midwife and she said not to worry unless it turns red. But how am I not supposed to worry?! Crazy. I feel sick. I'm 20 weeks today, scan planned for Monday but now just think I can't wait til then. I know it's out of my control but aaaggghhhhh what can I do?!

ovumahead · 25/04/2015 09:38

Also getting some mild twingy pains in lower abdomen... Pregnancy is so stressful!

ambientolf · 25/04/2015 10:51

Just popped on to say hello as I have fallen off again! My 20 week scan is Tuesday (& 8.30am thank god! The earlier the better) & ill be 20+5 but I am currently holidaying in Wales, preoccupied with worry instead of enjoying myself Hmm

I just want baby to be healthy!! Glad to hear of all good news at your scans though it gives me hope. I was smoking & drinking early in pregnancy due to not knowing (& not planning on being pregnant) so I'm terrified I've done some damage. I know a lot of women do though & have perfectly healthy pregnancies but it doesn't stop my paranoia.

I haven't really felt much either, just the odd bubble popping sensation & one that feels like a twitch so not even sure if it's baby. I can't wait until I can properly feel him Smile

lolcatz · 25/04/2015 13:39

Distraction and keeping busy has definitely seen me through pregnancy stress, which for me can border on paranoia! Got my scan on Tuesday too, can't wait!!! I can only feel him/her when I'm lying on my tummy, which is getting increasingly uncomfortable!

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 25/04/2015 14:19

Ovum hope you're doing ok, I'm sure it will be fine, must seem like an age to wait. Has the blood stopped?

ovumahead · 25/04/2015 15:45

lovely yes it does seem to gave stopped now but I'm noticing lots of twinges and pains expecting my lower right abdomen... Google tells me this is likely round ligament pain, but I think it may also be a uti. Anyone know if they do a urine test at the 20 weeks scan?

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 25/04/2015 16:48

I don't think so ovum but you could probably just take a sample into your docs and see if nurse could dip it? Take it easy today and hopefully all will have settled tomorrow.

Nothing so worrying as pregnancy... Oh wait that didn't stop when DS arrived ... They should warn you about entering a lifetime of worry at antenatal classes Wink

bonzo77 · 25/04/2015 17:23

At the 20 week scan you only see a sonographer at my hospital. They cannot test your urine. But if you go to maternity triage someone should see you. Can you call ahead? Or see your GP for an emergency appointment. Or even ooh now it's the weekend.

ovumahead · 25/04/2015 17:23

Haha yes I know! I remember thinking "everything will be ok when I can just see my baby" but was it? Hell no. Just new layers of angst! So much is beyond our control.... Just have to breathe, rest and occasionally eat a spoonful of Bonne Maman Caramel Spread.....

For Spam, Ovuma, me and anyone else 20 weeks today :o

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 25/04/2015 19:40

Is it still GooRoo who's adding people to the Facebook group? Haven't seen her on here in a while so don't want to message her if she's having a hard time or anything.

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 25/04/2015 20:33

PM me Havetea

Snowflake15 · 25/04/2015 21:14

Either been feeling the first movements or just got wind... Blush happened twice today when I was driving, on my left hand side like a twitching or muscle cramp type feeling, has been happening since aswell I've been lying on the sofa watching BGT

Hope it is movement and not just a dodgy bellySmileConfused

Snowflake15 · 25/04/2015 21:15

Ovum glad to hear your bleeding has stopped, try and take it easy and maybe call hospital and see if anyone can see you after your scan

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 26/04/2015 07:22

Ovum - I had this last weekend at 18 weeks and scared the he'll out of me. Almost exactly the same. Had a MW appt booked for Tuesday anyway and urine and tadpole all fine - can just be one of those things. Hope you're feeling 'better' about it now.

Tadpole is currently doing their routine early morning acrobatics session....went out for 6 course meal last night and really had to pace myself as I just don't have spare space anymore!

ovumahead · 26/04/2015 07:50

Thanks for the reassurance everyone and sorry you had a similar experience lastnight.

I've been getting really strong Braxton hicks contractions over night, they've been waking me up! Also pain in lower abdomen... Wondering if I have a uti. Going to call someone today to see if I can get retested asap as am in pain... Wish I knew what was happening! Keep worrying about premature labour. Argh!

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 26/04/2015 17:38

Ovum - how are you feeling now? Hope you've managed to be seen and are feeling better.

ovumahead · 26/04/2015 17:51

It's been a real fight to get seen! Am just about to go into the antenatal unit for a check up now... Seems crazy as I have my 20 week scan here in the morning! But they won't test urine as part of that. Ho hum. Actually feeling much better today and can feel baby wriggling around (still can't wait for the big kicks and squirms!) so anxiety is lowering. Thanks for asking.

I hope everyone else is getting along ok!

Excitingtimesahead · 26/04/2015 18:14

Hope everything continues to go well Ovuma.

Good luck in the morning x

elio · 26/04/2015 19:20

Hope everything is ok and the scan goes well tomorrow. Had been using facebook more, but still reading this thread.
As an update, had my 20 week scan yesterday and all was normal :D physically starting to look quite pregnant and struggling to get comfy when trying to sleep, I can't remember what the outcome of the pillow debate was on here..they all seem really expensive. Do people think its worth just buying some more normal pillows and building a little fort?
Here's a photo from the scan. X
