Thank you so much for your story plinky - I am in awe of you!!! I can understand why you miss your Bump-especially as Emily has been under care of the hospital team. Lour hospital bag list is a god send-you are wonderful!!!!

Sunshinesaz86 · 28/03/2015 17:04

Thanks for sharing your story plinks how very scary for you. So glad Emily is doing well, as are you. I'll keep my fingers crossed she puts on enough weight to finally join u at home next week. X

Scottishgal78 · 28/03/2015 17:44

Leanne I ordered them a few weeks ago when I saw them mentioned on here. Ordered from Amazon - were £1 and forgot all about them. Arrived yesterday - from China! So yours might appear yet. Honestly been so much more comfortable today.

leanne963 · 28/03/2015 18:30

Ahh that's good to know! Yeah mine were only like £1.50 for 3 different colours and sizes!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday!! Going to watch 'Fury' now and have tea and choc wit DP! What is everyone doing?

Blondie87 · 28/03/2015 19:07

plinky your story brought tears to my eyes. What a journey you have been on. It sounds like it's been unbelievably tough but sounds like things are heading in the right direction. Emily is a beautiful name, congratulations on your little girl x

Blondie87 · 28/03/2015 19:10

Sounds like a good plan Leanne. Just had some friends over for afternoon tea which was lovely. I find baking theraptic! Happy Easter holidays fellow teachers! I'm starting my maternity leave earlier as I'm huge and getting tired- got to put baby and health first. So only three days left after the break. Can't believe it!

Chookford · 28/03/2015 19:39

plinky what an amazing story, thank you! It must have been a really scary experience, but I'm so glad to hear you and Emily are both doing well.. Your lovely girl will be with you at home soon hopefully x

piglet81 · 28/03/2015 19:48

Hi plinky, thank you for telling us your story. It sounds like you've had a pretty tough time and I hope Emily is safely home with you soon.

Having a lazy Saturday here. Just washed a load of little clothes for the babe and got a bit emotional hanging them up!

Sainsburys are doing a 'double up' thing with Nectar points at the moment so I got a £40 voucher for £20 worth of Nectar points and bought loads of nappies, wipes, pads etc etc. Felt like it was all free! Grin

Does anyone know if Moses basket mattresses are a standard size, by the way? We've been given a hand-me-down so need a new mattress.

piglet I did the same in Sainsburys yesterday!!

Moses baskets aren't one size they do vary slightly so you need to measure you basket just to make sure it fits.. I think most are 74x28cm (mine is anyway!) Smile

shinyhappyone · 28/03/2015 20:35

Plinky your story is amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us. I'm writing this from hospital. Have had more cramps and pains today so after some monitoring, they think there is a chance I'm in pre-term labour. Have had a steroid injection so if little one comes along, it gives him more of a chance of breathing. So, it's just wait and see. Really hoping it's a false alarm and he stays put! What these babies out us through eh!! xx

Scottishgal78 · 28/03/2015 20:45

Shiny here's hoping it's a false alarm. Keep us updated.

Sunshinesaz86 · 28/03/2015 20:45

Oh no shiny how far along are u? At least your in the best place and you've had the steroid jab to help! I do hope little one holds out a bit longer for u. Keep us posted x

Chookford · 28/03/2015 20:47

shiny really hope this is a false alarm... But if not you and your little man will have the best of care and will both be just fine, let us know how your getting on x

shinyhappyone · 28/03/2015 20:52

Thanks girlies. I'm 33+3 so he has very good chances if things don't go our way Smile

applecore0317 · 28/03/2015 20:56

Fingers crossed it is false labour and he stays put shiny glad you are being monitored x

SmileyScooby · 28/03/2015 21:16

plinky OMG can't believe all you have gone through, thank you for sharing, what an emotional roller coaster. Thank you also for the realistic hospital bag list :) glad to hear you are both doing well x

shiny hope you are ok and fingers crossed false alarm!

Had consultant check up couple of days ago and on notes current estimated weight is 6lbs....currently 33+3...me thinks he is gonna be a big one! I've got 4 more working days to go then easter holidays (where will be finishing off marking which I haven't got time to do before go) then official maternity leave starts.

Still got lots to get, going to order some cheap plain white short sleeve babygrows (are these what people call vests?) and sleep suits from Asda in newborn and 0-3 so haven't wasted too much money if he is big and doesn't fit newborn or as Asda call it 'first size'.

Thanks for heads up re sainsburys will have a look. Are their maternity pads and breast pads any good? Saw our Sainsbury's has started stocking them.

Hope everyone is keeping well all things considering.

Chookford · 28/03/2015 21:33

smiley vests are sleeveless... Body suits are the ones with little cap sleeves... Either are fine under the slept suits though.... I have the lanisoh breast pads (I found these the best last time) and have mothercare maternity pads so I'm not sure what sainsburys are like, but sure someone else will be able to tell us!!!

Chookford · 28/03/2015 21:34

*sleep suits

Sunshinesaz86 · 28/03/2015 21:37

Anyone played music to their bumps? DP just did and got lots of movements for a couple of bands......nothing for ed sheeran tho! Shock

Chookford · 28/03/2015 21:40

sunshine my bump always dances to music! They don't seem to have a preference just any music will do!! It's very sweet!

leanne963 · 28/03/2015 21:43

Oooh Shiny Hope you are ok and little one stays put for at least a few more weeks, but glad you are being looked after!!

Sunshine I always play rock and metal music and she always gets wriggly ha!

Sunshinesaz86 · 28/03/2015 21:53

Haha it's great isn't it leanne & chook bump won't stop now!

It liked paramor and incubus! Grin
Roll on may! X

Bazza2 · 28/03/2015 21:59

Wow plinky you've had quite a time of it! Hope all goes well with the weigh in and that you can take her home.

I've been testing music too! No reaction to Swan Lake or Rage Against The Machine, but he seems to like Muddy Waters. Next test will probably be Billie Holiday and some '90s nonsense.

applecore0317 · 28/03/2015 22:17

Haven't tried music yet, will give it a go

Most people I have spoken to have recommended the boots maternity pads, said they are soft and much nicer than others. Really cheap as well
