Kyz · 22/04/2015 21:10

Evening everyone :) 34+6 today, MW appt went well, may have a UTI but not sure, sample has been sent off. Am trying to drink lots more and have done quite well today, I think!

struggling to keep up with this thread - I can read posts on my phone but it's a pain to reply on there and I'm not able to get on the laptop often :( Must try harder to get on here in the evenings or something.

jessie good luck!

bradders85 · 22/04/2015 21:13

Good luck Jessie
Pleased midwife appointment went well Kyz despite possible UTI.

I have enjoyed a nice soak in the bath and now have a very active bump!!

Chookford · 22/04/2015 21:46

Good luck jessie how exciting!

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies, am in bed in my new room... Boxes everywhere but hey ho! I'm shattered so will do those slowly over the next few days... It will be so nice to have this all sorted I can't stand chaos!!!

leanne963 · 22/04/2015 22:22

Ahhh Jessie Thinking of you, good luck!! :D X

leanne963 · 22/04/2015 22:26

I'm getting a really weird dull ache in my sides, like a squeezing of my sides. It is constant and not coming and going so it could just be normal, anyone else had this!? Im only 35+3 so cant imagine it is labour or anything! Ive only had this ache for the past hour or so, not getting any tightenings or anything! Don't know if it is just that she is lying in a weird position or anything!?

longestlurkerever · 22/04/2015 22:31

Good luck Jessie! Not had that one Leanne but so many weird aches and pains in pregnancy it could just be the baby in a funny position.

leanne963 · 22/04/2015 22:34

Yeah you are probably right longest I might go to bed and see if it goes away, she is moving so much too, its like a mini rave in my belly lol!

Bazza2 · 22/04/2015 22:47

Eeeeek good luck jessie!

applecore0317 · 23/04/2015 04:28

Hope it's not a UTI kyz glad your appointment went well otherwise. It is hard to keep up on here on busier days, I laugh sometimes as think it would be easier to get a pen and paper and take note ha ha

leanne hope the ache has eased off

Had movement going on in my pelvis yesterday which caused a few dull pains on my pubic bone, and just felt like I had a lot of pressure going on down there, so wondered if it was her moving down more.

Oh and bought some Olive oil yesterday, so have a date with that and the Perineal Massage today, can't wait... Confused

LinaDee · 23/04/2015 07:41

Apple - I've been getting those aches too. The pressure downwards - I could barely walk to bed last night it was so uncomfortable! That combined with a crampy tummy had me convinced something was happening last night.

How are your aches today Leanne??

Good luck Jessie - hope all is well

SmileyScooby · 23/04/2015 08:03

Good luck Jessie

Kyz fingers crossed it's not a UTI but glad appointment went ok

Leanne hope those weird pains went away

apple good luck with the PM, I attempted to reach yesterday but babies position meant when I leant forward my ribs hurt so I chickened out!!

This morning I've got either bum or feet (I'm presuming unless he's turned!!) pressed up against my ribs so can't find a comfortable position. Also think he's got the hiccups - but the vibration/movement is by pelvis so not sure but it's fairly constant at the mo.

How can we 'encourage' them to move downwards?

Also how should I be sat on sofa when got feet up? Should I be straight up with feet out or reclined a bit?

mumxof3x · 23/04/2015 08:20

Hi ladies,

Jessie hope all is ok and you have your baby.

Hope everyone else is well. Not long now ladies.

Im so rubbish at keeping up with the thread now. Been super busy.
My pram still hasnt come and the weathers been lovely, but been stuck in the house.

Leo is doing good, hes still slightly jaundice but hes got until day 21 for it to clear before he has to go back in. Weight gain wise, he is still on a 10.5% loss, but hes gaining slowly he still has 11oz to go before hes back at his birth weight. I cant believe hes almost 2 weeks old already. It goes so fast and is so strange to think I should be 36 week pregnant still lol.

Hope the other mums and babys are doing well x

applecore0317 · 23/04/2015 08:43

Glad Leo is doing well mum hope the jaundice clears soon

Smiley the nct woman said to avoid feet up reclined position where possible as it can make the baby turn and be back to back. Not that I've really had much choice when I have been resting.

Bouncing on a birthing ball can help them to move down and also sitting in any position where your knees are lower thab your pelvis. Although if they are back to back its unlikely they will engage until you actualluly go into labour from what I have read.

lina glad it's not just me, maybe it is just them moving further down

Blondie87 · 23/04/2015 09:34

Hope all is going well Jessie and you have your bab with you soon!

Mumx3 hope little Leo's jaundice clears up soon, how quickly time must be flying!

Smiley I've heard bouncing on ball and staying active helps move them and avoiding sitting where you're leaning quite far back for lengths of time.

Had midwife appointment yesterday at 36w5 and so far all is looking good. Baby is still in the correct position; head is quite low but not fully engaged. When does engagment usually take place for ftm? FH was just over 37cm.

applecore0317 · 23/04/2015 10:25

Apparently anytime from 35 weeks blondie although some just don't

SmileyScooby · 23/04/2015 10:25

Thanks apple and blondie, I haven't got a birthing ball yet, anyone bought one cheaply online anywhere?
I guess if I was to lay on my side on sofa that would be ok?
Baby seems to be favouring right hand side of the bump - dunno if that's good or bad!!

blondie I'm also interested in when engagement normally happens too as also a FTM

mum glad to hear Leo is doing well, it really must be flying for you having your little man here!

smiley eBay and Amazon do the balls from £6 upwards... If you don't want to spend a lot or as tori said Argos have them too

applecore0317 · 23/04/2015 11:39

I got an exercise ball from sports direct for £7, although I realise now I got the wrong size, should have got 65cm as that is what is recommended online... I got 55cm

SmileyScooby · 23/04/2015 12:06

Thanks ladies, a friend has just said that she has got one I can borrow (not sure what size it is) but she used do to exercises at home etc sitting on it.

Am now sat on sofa with feet on floor...it's not as comfy as sitting upright with legs out :( I can see me getting neck ache from looking down at iPad hehe!!

Am pondering what to do with rest of my day, might do a bit of sorting out of the bags of stuff we have got in spare room...although can see it getting in a worse state than it is now if I start hehe

mum glad little Leo is doing well :)

Justyouwaitandsee · 23/04/2015 12:51

Just back from midwife appt (39+2) and all looking / sounding good. Apparently baby is sounding strong and healthy but measuring a week behind so a bit small but midwife (and me!) think that's hopefully a good thing! She measured it at 38cm so interesting to compare to yours at 37cm at 36wks Blondie

  • as my due date is next Tuesday, she has booked me in to see her the following week (5th may) for a sweep of nothing has happened beforehand...
Jenni2legs · 23/04/2015 13:35

Ha! I've just been sat on a bench in the sun (one without handles at the side) and while I was sitting my arse fell asleep. I didn't notice until I tried to get up, no stomach strength coupled with no bum muscle meant I just wobbled around for ages.. Grin

jessiesw · 23/04/2015 14:03

Baby arrived last night at 11:35!! It's a girl! It went perfectly, such a contrast to the births of my other 2.

I am in love, she doesn't have a name yet, we're deciding between a few but we have one which we're pretty sure we will choose. She is perfect! She weighs 7lb 2oz, the exact same as her brother did. Big sis is in love and I am sad that my oldest son can't be here to meet her in person but I feel like he is here with us. I am so in love, I can't even put it into words.
